Hugh Cort

Hi, I nominated the article for deletion here. Regards Hekerui (talk) 22:26, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

No worries. I, too, have doubts about his notability but there was enough of a question to remove the prod tag. - Dravecky (talk) 22:34, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Thank you

Dravecky, thank you very much for these kind comments about my quality work on Wikipedia. It is very much appreciated. A lot. Especially now. ;) Thanks again, -- Cirt (talk) 06:24, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

DYK

Dravecky, I'd appreciate if you would stop reverting Cirt and me. There is an ongoing issue, which has nothing to do with politics but with perceived COI, which I am hoping can be resolved without drama, and with Cirt's cooperation. That won't work if you keep reverting. SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 07:03, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Out of respect for Cirt, I am letting the matter lie fallow. I am still deeply troubled that outside political pressures (apparently centered on Rick Santorum) have forced a valued content creator to hide their contributions and back away from content creation. That an apparently involved party would pursue this gamesmanship over encyclopedic improvement is all the more disturbing. - Dravecky (talk) 07:08, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
But I think that's because you're not seeing the overall picture. I have zero political interest in this, I can assure you. SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 07:24, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
I would request the same as well, Dravecky, as a gesture of good faith on my part. Please respect my request at WT:DYK, diff. Thank you, -- Cirt (talk) 07:09, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
As I noted at WT:DYK, I've dropped this issue out of respect for your stated wishes. My only hope is that you return to content creation as soon as possible. - Dravecky (talk) 07:20, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Dravecky, unfortunately I have some ongoing family health issues with two close family members that is quite distressing to me — but I would like to do so when I can and things are less stressful in my life. -- Cirt (talk) 19:24, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. - Dravecky (talk) 19:33, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of KCPU, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.kcpu-bd.com/index.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Um, what? It's a disambiguation page I just created from scratch to separate a California airport and an Oregon radio station. - Dravecky (talk) 11:12, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

FilKONtario

I fail to see how the templates were improper for the page and it's subject matter. Possibly you would be willing to take the next week to explain your exact reasoning in detail as to why you removed each one. If not I will revert the edit. Oh, and when you are making a major change to a page of that sort, please be kind enough to leave a comment on the discussion page for the subject with your reasoning, so that others don't have to chase you down at your personal discussion page. The other, less experienced, editors of the FilKONtario page wouldn't necessarily know where to look. And yes, I have a vested interest. My name is there as one of the founding convention committee members. Wayne Borean aka UrbanTerrorist (talk) 14:40, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

What caught my eye was that you tagged it with {{featured article}}, a recognition that this article has not earned and could not earn in its present state, among others in a slather of barely-related templates. Removing a handful of improper templates is hardly the major change that requires discussion beforehand. I'd no idea you were one of the founding committee members but now I know the article needs to gain a template: {{COI}} for possible conflict of interest. - Dravecky (talk) 19:14, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
I may have picked a couple of wrong ones - I'm learning about tags. As I see it Fantasy all, Fiction writing, Music topics, Schools of music are appropriate tags. I did a cut and paste which is how the Featured Article tag got added. As I said, I'm learning, and cut and paste is how I've been learning ever since I came here. Reply re: George B. Jackson

I don't know what the fuss is about. I was a participant in the WTHA section in which George B. Jackson was presented in a public lecture. I had never heard of him before, but he was the wealthiest African American in Texas prior to 1900. That has been verified in the San Angelo Standard. After about two months, Ms. Campbell contacted me by email and asked that the article be deleted. She said that she is writing a book on the subject; she did not say she had been researching this individual for fifteen years. She said that I didn't have permission to publish anything about her lecture. I didn't know I needed "permission", as it is public information and the second time she has presented this lecture, having done so earlier in San Angelo at a genealogical meeting. I marked the article for possible deletion to honor her request. At the time, she made no mention of any errors. Now she says half of the article is erroneous but won't take the time to offer corrections. Everything checks out with the notes I took, and I remember much of the lecture, as it was only on April 2, 2011. I also did some other articles based on historical association meetings, but none has brought attention before. It would seem that this article, if correct, would help her sell any book she might present, but she told me in the original email that she didn't "want to give away thing." It seems to me that when she gave a lecture, she was releasing the information to others, and it is no longer her private domain. Billy Hathorn (talk) 00:59, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

No, I agree, and these vague claims of egregious but unspecified errors come across as pure FUD. - Dravecky (talk) 05:55, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

The hook fact is now modified and same as mentioned in the article. Regards! --Commander (Ping Me) 04:42, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Regarding DYK on India at the 2011 Sudirman Cup

Hello Dravecky, I just observed your comments and recommendations on this thread related to India at the 2011 Sudirman Cup. The prose is not adequately good because I'm not much familiar with the terminologies of badminton and it was really difficult task for me to structure those facts in words, also add my lack of proficiency in English. If you've any time and willingness then please do some copy editing on the article. Regarding ALT3 proposed by you, it's perfect but miss most important fact that it was India's first appearance in Sudirman Cup's elite group or group of real competitors, those actually fight for the cup. In my view this fact is really interesting that India got chance to play in this group after 20 years of the commencement of this tournament. I'm naive in writing DYKs, so please help me on this, thanks and regards. — Bill william comptonTalk 17:18, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

I am not qualified to re-write your article as I know nothing about badminton, the tournament, or the sports terminology in use. I suggest asking for assistance from one of the related WikiProjects. - Dravecky (talk) 17:50, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, but my only contribution to that article was to add a disambiguation hatnote in April 2009. I did not attend the school. - Dravecky (talk) 18:44, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
