The website is not a reliable source. The article, in turn, purports to be from a Holocaust denial publication, part of the Institute for Historical Review; again, not exactly a reliable source. --Orange Mike 16:05, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

The Working Man's Barnstar

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Roger B. Chaffee Elementary School, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Roger B. Chaffee Elementary School is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Roger B. Chaffee Elementary School, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BraveComboSimpsons.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:BraveComboSimpsons.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:24, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

D. P. Singh

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article D. P. Singh, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Notability Standard for Radio and TV Stations

After being struck down in his attempt to have the articles on radio stations WRNY and WRRC deleted, Mr.Z-man has made an attempt at changing the notability standard for Radio and TV stations. This is a REALLY bad idea. This puts not only the work of WP:WPRS, but the work of WP:TVS, and potentially Wikipedia itself at risk. We need to let Mr.Z-man know that changing the notability standard for Radio and TV stations is a bad idea...REALLY bad idea. - NeutralHomer T:C 23:43, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

...and obviously he isn't done. - NeutralHomer T:C 23:50, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Firefly Minor Characters

There has been a call for deletion of the List of minor characters in the Firefly universe article. Since you've commented on the call to merge all the major characters, I thought you might be interested. Shsilver 15:20, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Amalgam

  • 1. Yes, you apparently missed the discussion. There was plenty of discussion.[1].
  • 2. Once we had consensus on part of it (removing those without sourcing as to the publishers' intentions regarding which characters were merged, when the characters appeared, and/or if they really appeared in print at all), I said I'd work on deletions. I waited before taking that action, though, to give others time to object, but not one person said not to. Not. One.
  • 3. There's nothing coy about it. AWB doesn't give me much room for a detailed edit summary. As I previously mentioned on this talk page, I went through editing one after another after another without the aid of AWB and I repeatedly gave explanatory edit summaries, but doing that for so many, many articles without AWB proved to be a monstrously arduous task. Even with AWB, it's a nuisance.
  • 4. Accusing me of sneakiness in a public forum without first asking me about this on my own talk page seems ironic.
  • 5. Along the same lines, vandalism is a very strong word to use without even once asking the editor in question about it. Doczilla 08:05, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
All apologies. I missed the discussion entirely as I'm not in the Comics project and just happened upon one edit which led me to your edit list and questions for which I did not have answers. Also, my word choice at 2am is apparently not optimal. - Dravecky 08:30, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Apology accepted and extended

I certainly understand. It looked like mass vandalism to you. I also understand the dangers involved in editing while tired. Heck, I'm doing it right now.

I also want to extend an apology. I really hated posted a copy of my reply on the WikiProject Comics talk page. It's just that once those things were said on a page like that, there are people who need to know the full response. I know that feels like a lame apology when I turn right around and say things to justify it, but I must stress that I really felt bad about it. Doczilla 08:34, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

No, I completely understand. I updated my own post there for similar reasons of correcting the "public" record and have reverted my own edit to Doctor Strange. - Dravecky 08:37, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I know it's just one little edit, but thank you for reverting your Dr. Strange edit. I really tried as nicely as I could to encourage the people (mainly two editors) who went through inserting those in the first place (hundreds of mostly unsourced Amalgam references) to delete them themselves, but they never would. They didn't even reply at that point, and I'm not one to push when I doubt it will help. Doczilla 08:46, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of KWAK, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Kwak. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 06:33, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Templates & Categories for WPAL

Hey, another WPAL member here. I just wanted to let you know that currently all WikiProject Alabama categories and templates must be class=NA, otherwise they get defaulted sorted as unassessed at Category:Unassessed Alabama articles. I learned this from User:JodyB earlier in the month when I was working on getting all of the unassessed articles classed. I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know, maybe you know how to fix the root of the problem?? I'm afraid I don't, as my knowlegde is very limited in this area, but I did temporarily class those that you did today as NA for now until we can get it fixed so that they don't default to the unassessed category. I'm trying to keep up with it and keep it empty as new articles come in. And way to go on working at sorting those stubs, I was going to get to that earlier but my eyes began bugging out of my head. Thanks. Altairisfartalk 07:12, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I wondered why some of those were NA instead of Template. I don't know how to fix it yet, but I'll surely look into it. Thanks! - Dravecky (talk) 07:17, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Maybe we should bring it up on the project's talkpage? That's two people in one month finding the same issue. The correct class parameters are evidently already there, it must just be a matter of sorting but I'm afraid that I would do more damage than good if I tried to fix it myself. I've learned to do a great deal, but unfortunately it's been mostly through trial and error, and then usually getting bitched at by other editors until I got it right. Thanks again. Altairisfartalk 07:34, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
That sounds like a plan. I spent a few hours tonight sorting the big mass of articles in Category:Alabama stubs which is how I tripped over the problem in the project tag. I need to troll for more Alabama sports-related stub articles so I can get up to the magic 60 (there are roughly 40 tagged already) needed to get the stub sorting folks to create an Alabama-sports-stub and stub category. - Dravecky (talk) 07:45, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
I'll get in touch with a few of our "charter members" first and see if they can tell me what the deal is, and then go from there on that front. Yeah, that magic number was holding me back from getting too energetic about stub sorting. I was there because I had noticed the shear number of stubs that weren't tagged or were tagged incorrectly. I was thinking of requesting a regular bio-stub, placing the existing politians-stub under that and then adding a sports-bio-stub or something along those lines to it. But your idea would take care of that same problem. I assessed over 800 articles this month, about half were stubs and probably half of those were sports related stubs. And most were not stub tagged, I did not take the time to do it due to the bulk of my personal project, but if you check Category:Stub-Class Alabama articles, you will find tons of sports related stubs to more than fill your quota for a sports-stub category. New Zealand radio station stubs

Hi Dravecky - I noticed you re-stubbing (Radio One (New Zealand), of which I'm a DJ, is on my watchlist :) I'd say the best course would be to re-propose it. Given its scope it's a speediable category type, so if there's no objections in 24 hours or so it would be fine to make the category. The Oceania parent should fill pretty quickly ('d be hard pressed to believe there aren't a fair number of Aussie station stubs out there too). Grutness...wha? 00:49, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
