Chocques (French pronunciation: [ʃɔk]) is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France.[3]

Geography[edit]

Chocques is a farming village by the banks of the river Clarence, some 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Béthune and 30 miles (48 km) southwest of Lille, at the junction of the D70 and the N43 roads. The A26 autoroute passes by a half-mile away.

This exquisite reliquary, dating to the early fifteenth century, originated from Chocques. It can be seen in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
