Speedy deletion of Takedo panacea

Hello, I am writing to contest the speedy deletion of the Takedo panacea page for the company Takedo Panacea. You wrote "Unambiguous advertising or promotion" and "Wikipedia is not a free host. Please publish on your own website". Tbsdy wrote "Patent nonsense". First of all, I would like to say that I can see, most definitely, how experienced Wikipedians such as yourselves on first glance would flag this page and/or warning lights would shoot up in his or her head. Second of all, I am not interested in free hosting. It's an insult to a company that it cannot afford $10 per year for a host. I personally have 2 websites of my own and setting up their domains took less than an hour and just $20. To prove it would it help if the company owner contact Jimmy Wales to donate $500 to Wikipedia? But this is beside the point and makes money an issue when it shouldn't be. Moving on...

I can understand the "unambiguous advertising" label. This Wikipedia page is simply a descriptor page for a company and not a marketing gimmick. As you'll see the page has no direct or even indirect links for purchasing anything or even contact information to facilitate such so please reconsider this pejorative label if/when I try to upload this page again for this company. Next, "patent nonsense" is also understandable but only when in the context of this being a first glance of the page. There are lots of non-profits whose aim is to promote love, education in the art of eastern mysticism, spiritual practice, and alternative forms of "conscious" holistic healing. All of the above categorize the company. I do not find this as nonsense. Odd, sure, because the company is new and in the eyes of this editor unestablished but allow me to provide further support for my position.

Before I proceed, I just wanted to say that I can even empathize with someone who would think to qualify this as a Wikipedia "Conflict of Interest", but I hope that this person can also see that I've followed most of the other rules to the best of my ability (e.g. third-party sources) in making this page live for Takedo Panacea. I've tried to write in as neutral tone as possible, but I am willing to tone it farther down and AS FAR AS you expert Wikipedians would like for increased legitimacy. I do defer to the community's opinion and will take the editors' advice very seriously and reassess all future edits.

Ultimately, I think that this page, although it's on a company and not an individual, would qualify as a justifiable Autobiography per-se. Why? Because I believe this company is notable enough, which is substantiated by the depth and rigor in referencing the hundreds of internal and over-a-hundred legitimate "notes"/external references, which at the least can serve as educational for anyone interested in the field this company is participating in. Again, I defer to the consensus of the community, but I find it a little frustrating that there are dozens of pages for small bands and one-hit-non-wonders while this page is finding considerable resistance. I'm sure you try to discourage those small entity writers as well, but I really just hope some or all of you actually spend the time to read this company's page and understand that this is a real page, about a real & legitimate company, and with a consistent message throughout. It's got depth and others who are reading it are finding that it's a work of art in itself even though it is yet unfinished (I suppose it never will be due to the beauty of Wikipedia).

Thank you very much for taking the time to read and address this post on your user space.

Cheers, Eduardo —Preceding unsigned comment added by Edegonz (talkcontribs) 18:39, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

  • Your donation should be to the Wikimedia Foundation, not to Jimmy Wales and it will make absolutely no difference to our views on your article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:54, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Okay I made it to the foundation as seen in this link [1] but again that's beside the point. Did nothing else I wrote make any difference to you either? Are you not budging? Edegonz (talk) 08:19, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

  • Budging! Do you think I am going to support anyone who tries to bribe himself into Wikipedia! But the basic problem is notability. Google has never heard of your company. What evidence of notability was there in your article? Where are your alleged websites? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:44, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
  • I would hope so but only when considering that this is for a good cause man! =) I'm just trying to bring showers of love into the world. I get no respect and support! =/ Stay tuned though for everything Wikipedia moderators such as yourself could ever ask for in terms of notability and verifiability is on its way. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Edegonz (talkcontribs) 06:25, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
  • By the way RHaworth, it wasn't a bribe. I was simply trying to show people that I wasn't creating this wikipedia page for FREE hosting. Donating $500 should never lead anyone to think that again.Edegonz (talk) 06:09, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Partial concurrent Thinking aloud page

Hi RHaworth, I cleared your propose of deletion, because I think that the article is able to answer to some specific questions in Human computer interaction field (the technique for evaluate usability with disabled users, the rule of disabled users in the evaluation etc.) I believe that those issues are the future of the usability evaluation field, and also I think that those issues are notable (aren't it?). If you believe, I could insert the Partial concurrent thinking aloud (that is a reliable and valid technique as I support with the references) in the page of think-aloud protocol but the pertinence of "Partial concurrent thinking aloud" technique is relate to other issue than the page of think-aloud, so I preferred to create a new page. Deletion review for Erfan

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Erfan. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Fishoil3 (talk) 07:57, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Hatha Yoga the Hidden Language

Yeah i found this guy through Hatha Yoga the Hidden Language when i pattrolled it as a new page. all his contributions are related to this chick. As an admin, i wanted your advice on possible Coi

Looking more before i post this again this ip only this topic of Swami Sivananda Radha located in British Columbia where she founded her commune described in the article. i am wondering now if they are the sam people. i know as an admin you can check to see if the User is the same as the ip. Right now i consider any articles done by User talk:Yasodhara to be COI compromised. – Weaponbb7 (talk) 02:34, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Could you check User:Cminard too his edit pattern is similar but not the exact same but close enough for me to think its worth checking. – Weaponbb7 (talk) 02:57, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Please learn the difference between prod and AfD. Please learn how to do links - see my corrections above. I thought chick = young woman - have you seen how old this "chick" was?
Checkuser is a right jealously guarded by a very small cabal. Regular admins are not allowed to use it. Before you request a checkuser you need to have grounds to suspect malicious action such as avoiding a block. In this case, I see nothing to justify its use. Editing logged in and not logged in is sloppy but not a wikicrime. Having a COI is not a wikicrime - it merely makes the relevant articles suspect. I suggest you stick to the normal paths of prod and AfD if you feel any articles should be deleted. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:15, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

I had to de-PROD the above as it was already proposed for deletion and contested on the 7th. I recon the next step would be WP:AFD if you wish to pursue this. Best, MLauba (talk) 14:02, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

whose other account you blocked indefinitely:

His contribution history is blank, but that information may be useful during this SPI. How can we see it and how can we check his actitivites using that account?

Note that in the meantime he created and used another sockpuppet, proven by CU. The sock was blocked, but nothing happened to him for doing it:

I suspect you might wish to follow this case. -- Brangifer (talk) 02:18, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Hello RHaworth. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Global village (venue), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7: The article makes a credible assertion of importance: site of "some of the earliest raves in Melbourne". Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 22:58, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Moving without redirect

I'm just making sure I did the right thing when I created the redirect for the page you moved (Alcoholic Lung Disease --> Alcoholic lung disease) I think a redirect should be created, but I'm making sure/reminding you to redirect with that type of move. Please note that the J-tek article would not have qualified as a no-context speedy deletion. For CSD#A1 (No-context) to apply, the subject of the article must be unidentifiable, which was not the case here, since it was clearly defined as a music genre in the lede. I'm not sure who created the page, and while I was trying to add content to it to make it more useful, you deleted it. I have recreated it as it gave me the option to, and I would appreciate just a little more time while I work on it. If you decide after that that it should still be deleted, that is of course your choice, I would just like a little time to work on it to give it more of a chance.

Thanks for listening. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seanpaune (talkcontribs) 19:50, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

first, I want every one in any wiki-lang to use my photos, beleive me. second, I dont know how can I tag them, where should I paste this "{{move to Commons}}" ? in the page of each photo one by one? helpppppppppppp! - Pournick

  • Exactly that: in the image description page of each photo. As well as adding the tag you must state explicitly that you took the photo - like this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 01:42, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Your prod on International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy. Just a heads up. The creator of this page had removed a speedy-copyvio tag on the article without attempting to address the issue. This is the same person who created "norwegian association for legal philosophy", on which you just voted delete. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 03:51, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

The above is all correct, unfortunately. And I regrett to say I am the one who did it. I apologize. The reason this happened is that I am new to the Wikipedia society and am in a learning process with regards to how to contribute on the Wikipedia. If you would like to help, what I think should be done (but am not able to do or suspect I will be cencored for trying to do) is the following: 1) The article "norwegian association for legal philosophy" should be renamed with capital letters: "Norwegian Association for Legal Philosophy". The entry should not be deleted, as suggested by one of you. It contains useful information. I can provide more information. 2) I personally think the links to Jørgen A. Stubberud and Alf Petter Høgberg in that same article are not worthwhile, they are not that important persons to legal philosophy (which I can tell since I am Jørgen A. Stubberud). But if you choose to keep them, this is the home page of professor Høgberg: http://www.jus.uio.no/ior/english/people/aca/alfph/index.html and this is an internal link to the Norwegian Wikipedia entry about professor Høgberg: http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alf_Petter_H%C3%B8gberg 3) At the article "International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy" I think the external reference to the Norwegian Association for Legal Philosophy (www.ivr.no) whould be re-inserted, since that page contains a unique collection of very useful links to free, online, browsable journals, philosophy dictionaries and encyclopedias. Hi Roger! I'm sorry for taking up your time with the CSD for STP 6th album redirect. Andrés Hurtado

Hi there... I noticed that you deleted the page Andrés Hurtado de Mendoza, 3rd Marquis of Cañete and that the information has been moved by user Dgarq to Andrés Hurtado de Mendoza, 2nd Marquis of Cañete. That is a mistake as you can see from the sources quoted in the page, or the genealogy listed there or just by just going to the page of the Marquis of Cañete where you will find a complete list of the titulars of this marquisate. There was already a page listing the correct second Marquis, Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, 2nd Marquis of Cañete, and of course all links are now incorrect. Victim of vandalism

I saw that my user page got deleted, which is good seeing as how I've never put anything on my user page. It says that the grounds for deletion was vandalism. Is there any more information than that? I'm curious as to who was on my page. Thanks, Victim of Coho (talk) 22:43, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

I have no intention of creating a user page. Also, if the Hatsby article DOES get deleted, where would you suggest hosting the information? Thanks, Victim of Coho (talk) 00:18, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

  • "No intention"? Why not - presumably you want people to think you are a newbie. Look at the AfD discussion for TheGreatHatsby. Mod the Rod

FIRST - I am Drsjpdc. I cannot edit or defend myself under my account, but the block on my IP has been lifted. I tender that I am saying nothing here that is in any way inflammatory or even wrong, so...
I am pursuing my options under Wiki rules to clear my name from the charges leveled against me. Following that line of reasoning, I noticed that this poor guy, Mod the Rod or something, was still blocked for allegedly "abusing multiple accounts". When I check his history, he practically never got to do anything but re-post a deleted bio. I have (and had) absolutely no relationship to this person, (I certainly never logged in as him or vice versa - Please CU check it!)and wonder why he would have tried to "help" me in the 1st place? Then only answer I can imagine is a rather creative idea; i.e., perhaps it was created as a setup from one of the guys who went after me so successfully?? Has anyone ever done a CU to see if he and Drsjpdc are/were related? And how does someone who hardly edited anything on Wiki, manage to "abuse multiple accounts"? Finally, if he really, as I abjure, has no relationship to me, then how is he to heed the "Creative" suggestion that he do "further editing under [my] account", when he could not possibly have access to the Drsjpdc or this IP account? Just asking, because I think you all GOT another innocent guy, like my son, and the poor doc in Holland. Just another poor schnook trying to help someone they perceived to be in distress?? Why do I care? For two reasons; 1st because its just wrong; and 2nd because when you find all the "socks" I was supposed to have created, are not socks at all, then, like I have said all along; I never deliberately created ANY socks. And I would really appreciate your help to unravel all this mess.
BTW: there were TWo other IP address only's which were "suspected socks". If you check these also, you will find they appear to be the same person, NOT ME, who stated clearly s/he "is Guatemalan"? And one of them used profanity in a first edit; something I have NEVER done. I swear that these are also not me. The ONLY account from which I have edited is [drsjpdc] and when I forgot to login, or now, as [68.239.180.104] (and I admitted that I tried to help PLatinmuphotog, and that looked like a sock, but that's it!! AND I never voted anywhere twice as either account or as Platinumphotog. 68.239.180.104 (talk) 23:14, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

  • I am very sorry but I have very little sympathy for a blatant self-promoter. I have not been following your case and I do not intend to get involved now. I suppose you could start by raising the matter with Jehochman (talk · contribs · logs) who blocked you. Advice: however angry you may be, please restrain your language - some of your rants that I have seen in the last few minutes are almost enough to get you blocked in their own right. Incidentally: a) have we ever interacted in the past - why are you asking me? b) you said "I will not waste an other minute on this collection of children" - so why are you so keen to come back? c) I do not have checkuser rights - see above. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:03, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
  • As a banned editor, the person Drsjpdc (IOW Stephen J. Press in any guise) isn't allowed to edit Wikipedia. Use of an IP isn't allowed. Unfortunately the template used on the IP's talk page is partially inaccurate as parts of it don't apply to banned users, only to short blocks of the IP involved. The indef community ban still stands. It doesn't run out after 72 hours. Normally IPs are only blocked for short periods of time because some of them may be used by multiple users. In this case the person is banned, so they have no right to edit Wikipedia using their IPs. They should not interpret the wording "Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions." as an invitation to resume their editing or contacting editors here. That's considered ban/block evasion and only worsens their situation. A new template needs to be created for such situations, but right now a clarification should be placed on the IP's talk page. -- Brangifer (talk) 07:02, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
  • Please use "edit" rather than "access". You are making suggestions - go and do them! You don't even tell me the IP address, so how could I do anyhing even if I wanted to? I just do not want to get involved. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:26, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Patrick Swift

Dear Roger Hawthorn. I don't really follow that because there is room there should be an image by another painter on the Patrick Swift page. It is nothing personal against the author of the image, it is purely the principle that on any painter's entry there can only be work by that artist. For example, Swifts daughter was an artist and painted a fine portrait of Swift. I might paint a portrait of Swift... I appreciate that the image is a 'homage' but it still doesn't detract from the fact there there should only be work by Patrick Swift on the Patrick Swift page. Otherwise it would descend into chaos. The Patrick Swift wiki entry is purely for Patrick Swift.I am pretty sure you are unaware of Swift as an artist- he was a fine painter... And I see that the painter in question now has his own entry... User:TisTRU —Preceding unsigned comment added by TisTRU (talkcontribs) 20:15, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I've removed your PROD from this article, because I found (and added to the article) a source documenting that he is indeed a Law Lord of Tonga and thus notable. By the way, I think you can safely ignore the speedy deletion warning just above this note. The other editor apparently got confused by the redirect left behind when you renamed the article. I did a series of quick searches online and found literally thousands of sources. I hate Texas, but this is a notable rivalry. So I removed your ProD and inserted an allegation of notability. The community should discuss such a deletion. Bearian (talk) 19:31, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

deletion

I was notified that my article on TNN's Alternative Lunch is set to be deleted due to no evidence of notability. Can you please explain examples of what would MAKE it notable? It is a Nationally aired radio show hosted by two NOTABLE people. What would I need to provide to satisfy the guidelines of what is NOTABLE? I can provide citations and references, I just need a little bit more direction, please... -- Scarlett Lee (talk) 00:08, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Scarlett Lee

Killin me softly (again)

Yep, I saw the different image size which suggests some sort of cropping, also evident between images, plus other adjustments. Maybe it WAS me, I'll just put it down to an early "senior moment". I'd be interested to know more about the Commons bot, it looks like a very useful tool. Does it specialise in Geograph images, and are they categorised to Geograph in any way that's useable for searchers of those uploaded images?

BTW, I liked your heading for the section title, it has a nice ring for people of a certain vintage :~) --Cactus.man 19:57, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

  • The GeographBot works exclusively on Geograph. There are other bots - see Batch uploading. It appears to be indiscriminately copying the whole of Geograph including such trivia as this estate agent's sign. It is doing a bit of categorising but mainly you have to rely on the search engine. If you have found an image on Geograph, you can find it easily on the Commons - see the bot's recent activities for how it forms the name. It has set me an agenda of 300 images to be re-uploaded at their original resolution plus 200 more still to be copied by the bot. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:40, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

TheRedGoldfish: Dunmaglass, Scotland

I noticed you put my article up for speedy deletion and I did remove the tag and give a reason but I thought to come to you direct and I would like explain that i DO work there and there are websites online that can contribute to the article. If that's not enough the fair enough but I would like to have that feeling where I wrote something on wikipedia with it not getting deleted because every article or contribution I do just get's deleted and I would love for you not to delete it but to help update it and get it into the acceptance guidelines. I would like to say "Dunmaglass, Scotland. I wrote that wiki by the way people!" because it makes feel like I have achieved something.

Anyway if it HAS to get deleted then fair enough but if there's an oppertunity for you to help then I owe you a great thanks.

Yours Sincerely, Mr. Scott M Davidson TheRedGoldfish (Mr. Scott M Davidson 00:49, 9 February 2010 (UTC)), Dunmaglass, Scotland

Hi, I'm an OTRS volunteer who is dealing with this case. Could you please let me know which page the article was an infringement of? I've been given a few links and none of them seem to work. It's not coming up on the page when you look at it. Thanks in advance. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 22:15, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

I'll appreciate if you can have a due consideration and please read following facts:

1. The reason why my article was deleted in 2007 is: Mr PalaceGuard008 claimed that there were pretty few references and citations of my article. In fact, there are many; but you didn’t actually go after and take a look.

2. I can offer you many webpages and websites on which the “Latin phonetic method of Shanghainese” has been posted. Those webpages and websites belong to various social and cultural associations.

3. Currently, the “Latin phonetic method of Shanghainese” is the most widely-accepted and popularized Wu chinese phonetic notation on internet. It is mentioned by some many other articles, dissertations and webpages including Wiki webpages, for instance: Chinese input methods for computers.

In addition, you can check the following webpage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:RCL

There is the “Long-short (romanization)” of Wu Chinese phonetic notation listed under the “Wu” column. This notation is very rare to see whatever in China or abroad. If it can be posted on Wikipedia, why “the latin phonetic method of Shanghainese” which is the most widely-accepted and popularized Wu chinese phonetic notation on internet can not?--ZHU Yeyi (talk) 23:11, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Help with a speedy deletion

EPW2W has been attempting to create a page similar to Seeds of Peace , my latest attempt at a page is up and we would like suggestions from you as what we can do to avoid being deleted again,

The current page has not been posted but is being edited here.

Do you have time to review what has been done and let me know if this page is acceptable

Thanks for your time. -- Epw2w (talk) 17:00, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Suction-diesel direct injection

Moved Suction-diesel Direct Injection to Suction-diesel direct injection. The idea was to go the other way . see talk pls .Wdl1961 (talk) 15:08, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I was confused by that too - the correct name for the article should be Suction-diesel Direct Injection - please take a look at the articles discusussion page, thanks. 78.32.143.113 (talk) 16:47, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Did you manage to look at the article talk page? The logic and (hopefully) justification for the capitals are there. But basically, SDI is an official acronym (and registered trademark) from/for the German: Saugdiesel Direkt Einspritzung - again, a trademark - and the correct English language translation is Suction-diesel Direct Injection. Please look at Talk:Suction diesel injection so I don't have to repeat everything. Or is there anything else I've missed? Kind regards. 78.32.143.113 (talk) 17:54, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Added another detailed reply on its talk page. And I think there is genuine concensus to support the move - particularly from all the current major editors of the article. Other major editors to the article have either not been active on Wikipedia (two not active since 2008), or are not actively editing any technical automotive articles. Kind regards. 78.32.143.113 (talk) 14:52, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Poyle Pump

Hi. Thought you might be interested by this...

For a while, this image (File:Poyle Pump 022.JPG) resided at traction engine, but was deleted when someone realised that it pre-dated steam-driven road vehicles by several decades!

A little research has just thrown up this page (http://www.villagepumps.org.uk/pumpsBucks.htm) which mentions:

"The [Colnbrook Turnpike] Trust was responsible for the maintenance of 17 miles of the Bath Road between Cranford bridge and Maidenhead bridge. They erected several pumps along the turnpike, specifically in order to fill water tanks to lay dust. Only two such pumps remain now, one here at Poyle, and one at Longford."

Presumably the water tanks were mounted on the back of horse-drawn carts, which would explain the need for the great height of the pump.

If someone else doesn't get there first, I will update the file descriptions at Commons (and Geograph), in due course, to highlight the pump's real purpose.

Vemma Revisited

Mr. RHaworth:

On 13 Apr 2008, you have said the following on my user page:

==Vemma==
No one will see a message left at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Vemma. Yes, you were told, there was a perfectly clear message: "Notice: You are re-creating a page that was deleted". You will not see it now because I have protected the page but try Solara (Disambiguation) - do you see the message?? -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 18:04, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

"Vemma article (a company I'm currently a rep of)". Thank you for declaring that. This means you have a strong COI. I suggest you steer completely clear of that area. Whilst Wikipedia is not edited for morality, you will find that mlm companies are, quite rightly, treated more harshly at AfD because they are immoral. See MonaVie for example. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 18:12, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

After a "hiatus" from Wikipedia, largely spawning from taking the above personally, I'm back and desire to resume with editing other articles; I no longer have any vested interest in Vemma, nor am I any longer a rep as of July 2009; COI can be stricken as of this point. The whole idea of creating the article was to actually allow others to contribute to said article; given that Wikipedia is, of course, allowed for all to edit and contribute, providing other members with a chance to make said article "compliant". I admit and apologize about my "newbie errors".

However, please note that you stated to have "protected the page" and said MLM is "quite rightly, treated more harsly at AfD because they are immoral." Please note that statement quite possibly implied the presence of using personal POV and/or bias as a basis of determination to protect/remove the page. Wikipedia is designed to present facts for the public at large to decide for themselves whether Vemma is "moral" or not, or for example whether or not Enron is an ethical company, whether Bernard Madoff deserves to be condemned or praised, or if Adolf Hitler is a good or bad person; I can sit here and condemn Hitler all day on his wiki, but 1. It does affect NPOV in general and 2. there are people who might actually like Hitler. Therefore, if there are any restraints that prevent this article from being properly created or edited, I humbly request for you to release them. Thank you. --Edwardw818 (talk) 10:56, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Unprotection of Eddsworld article

Roughly two years ago the page on Eddsworld (an animated web series) was deleted and protected from recreation. Since then the series has been involved with the BBC, the World Wide Fund for Nature and shortly Mitchell and Webb (citations are available for each). I believe that this qualifies Eddsworld as a viable candidate for a Wikipedia article and hope you will unblock the page. TheTomSka (talk) 15:11, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
