Quick tip for indenting on Wikipedia

Hello! I noticed that your additions seem to lack indentation. Here's how you do so; before your new comment, insert a colon ":" to indent it by one. The more you add ":::" will vary how much of an indent there is. Here's an example:

A comment with one indent

Now two

Here's one with four

If indenting gets too out of hand...

outdent using {{od|:::}}, and replace those colons with how many indents there are.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2021

Yes, it does have the Disney logo at the beginning, not 20th Century Studios. The credits make mention of no other company other than the animation outsourcer. By the way, do you have Disney+ and if so, maybe check when it updates in your time zone.

To be honest, it is kinda predictable considering the trailers were uploaded to the WDS pages, not the 20th Century Studios ones, and the movie is copyrighted to Disney Enterprises, Inc. and not 20th Century Studios either. The same could be said for The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, as that’s copyrighted to Disney Enterprises too and was uploaded to the WDS pages. Luigitehplumber (talk) 13:29, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

However, List of Walt Disney Pictures films is not a place for extra detail, and information like who was originally going to release a film is better suited to that particular film's article, not a general list. Suggestions

Thanks for letting me know about the tie-in book for the new Wimpy Kid film, I looked it up and you are indeed correct, the back cover listed the copyright as 20th Century Studios. This is weird and kind of strange, as the official Wimpy Kid site has text that reads “Disney Enterprises, Inc.” instead of 20th Century Studios, but I would assume that the book was designed before Disney switched production labels, hence why it only mentions (at least from what I know of) the circle on the top front corner for Disney+, since even when it was being developed under 20th, it was still being made for the streaming service.

It however, doesn’t include the trademarked Disney logo above the title, which is likely because of what I already mentioned above. Unlike Wimpy Kid, the tie-in books for the Timmy Failure film, for example, put the Disney trademark above the original book’s logo interestingly enough.

This has me curious as to whether or not the new Ice Age spin-off will get the same treatment as Wimpy Kid, switching labels while in development from 20th to Disney, as it would be very interesting to see.

My suggestion here is that for the sequels, 20th likely won’t be involved like they were with the first, because Disney made the final decision to drop the studio’s involvement, meaning it wouldn’t really make a whole lot of sense if Disney kept adding references to 20th in future installments. So I would personally recommend not adding the sequels to 20th pages, as I doubt they’ll be involved in future installments after being dropped in-favor of Disney.

More Info

I have found more information regarding Ice Age’s upcoming spin-off series, Scrat Tales.

Like I have stated before, the correct title is Scrat Tales, and not Scrat Tails. I have discovered this via: https://justplayproducts.com/products/the-ice-age-adventures-of-buck-wild-baby-scrat-animated-feature-plush/

So the series is obviously confirmed, as Disney/20th have already contracted toy production/manufacturers to create products for it.

Also would it be okay if I change 20th to Walt Disney Pictures and list 20th as uncredited for Adventures of Buck Wild? Judging from its’ advertising, it looks as if it switched studio labels, as so far, it has received the same treatment as the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid film.

First of all, the copyright is under Disney Enterprises, Inc., and not 20th Century Studios. Additionally, like Wimpy Kid, 20th Century Studios’ Twitter accounts haven’t been promoting it, rather instead only the Ice Age, Disney+ and Walt Disney Studios accounts have, with the latter being used for Walt Disney Pictures releases.

I’m not sure if the upcoming 7th entry will also get this treatment, however so far this treatment of a more Disney-based advertising has been occurring with the spin-off. Bombastic Brody (talk) 16:09, 12 January 2022 (UTC)

I forgot about that, thanks for reminding me. On that note, not every WDP film has the Disney logo on the title. It could be possible that because unlike Wimpy Kid, this isn’t a reboot, and to my knowledge, takes place in-between Continental Drift and Collision Course, so it may be possible that Disney didn’t put their logo on the title because of the familiarity of Ice Age originally not being a Disney franchise. I mean, Marvel and Star Wars content is sort of similar, but for some reason, I still have a feeling that the Walt Disney Pictures logo will show up in the opening of the movie because of the films’ same treatment that was given to Wimpy Kid, besides, what you mentioned, the Disney logo in the title. We don’t really know yet though, so it’s just speculation, so it might just be best to just wait until it comes out and then see what happens, as I think it’s a little weird that it doesn’t feature the Disney logo but yet at the same time, isn’t being advertised by 20th. Actually, pretty much every Walt Disney Pictures film has the Disney logo on it, sometimes not even in the Disney font (e.g., The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe). ZX2006XZ (talk) 19:25, 12 January 2022 (UTC)

The Finest Hours didn’t have ‘Disney presents’ on some releases, and even then, it was in a different font. I think that Ice Age may not contain it because of consistency with the other films in the franchise, probably because it’s part of the original series. The new Wimpy Kid was different because it was also a reboot. I also forgot to mention that Midnight Madness was also not branded under Disney in its’ initial release. I looked up Midnight Madness today didn't see "Walt Disney Productions" or "Walt Disney Productions Presents". For The Finest Hours, it’s a few releases, and it wasn’t just a matter of a few countries. Most of the releases that I did see did contain Disney presents though. As for Midnight Madness, yeah, the film didn’t really have any company attached to its’ original release but I think sometime around 2005 is when it got a Disney DVD “Walt Disney Pictures presents” release. Also on Disney’s Movie Insiders site, it’s listing also just has the “Disney” logo above it. Yeah, I won’t change the article’s production studios section, at least, not until the film comes out. I still think it’s a possibility, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Help on a Page

Hey sorry to bother you, but can you help me? On this page below, I can’t seem to get other characters formatted/aligned correctly. On the list, can you copy and paste the same thing as Takua but add two columns for Jaller and Hahli? Other then the names, it’s basically the same in-terms of appearances. For some reasons the posters you upload are of low quality. Is it because of a butchered attempt at size reducing? What software do you use? Have you watched the new Ice Age movie to make sure if it’s a Walt Disney Pictures release or not? I can’t check today because I don’t have Disney+, and instead I have to wait until whenever I go to my friend’s house to watch it since he has a Disney+ account whereas I don’t.

Something else I remembered is that we kind of already know that 20th was originally involved, because like Wimpy Kid, it was first announced that 20th was working on it as a television series before Disney reworked them into films. SlySabre (talk) 13:31, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

Keep in mind though that the “Soundtrack available on Walt Disney Records” part isn’t alway accurate. Wimpy Kid for example had that in the credits when in reality, Hollywood Records actually released it, so it was an error on the part of the films’ credits. Why Scrat Isn’t in Ice Age 6

I assume Scrat Tales was completed sometime in 2019 or very early 2020, however in 2020, it was confirmed by designer Ivy Supersonic that she gained the rights to the character when Disney made a settlement with her and relinquished the rights for the character after Fox allegedly stole her concept “Sqrat” and adapted it as their own character “Scrat” for their then-upcoming movie Ice Age 20 years ago.

According to former Blue Sky employees, Scrat Tales was supposed to come out this year in 2022 on Disney+ so it might be possible that Ivy will let the series be released and ultimately be the final appearance for the character. However this apparently explains why Just Play Products quickly pulled the Scrat and Baby Scrat merchandise from being sold any further. It’ll probably be worth mentioning this on The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild’s page somewhere as to why this occurred and why Scrat was missing from the final film despite appearing in a short Disney+ logo ident.

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Ron's Gone Wrong#Music. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE and MOS:TVPRODUCTION.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

To answer your question "Does this really need to be deleted?" (here and here), the current non-free uses of these two files doesn't satisfy Wikipedia's non-free content use policy and files which don't satisfy this policy are deleted. Non-free album cover art is generally OK to use for primary identification purposes in at the top of or in the main infoboxes of stand-alone articles about the albums they represent and this is no different when the album is a movie soundtrack. So, if you feel either of these albums meet WP:NALBUM and want to create stand-alone article about them, then the cover art could be used in such articles. However, there's been a long-standing consensus per WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and WP:FILMSCORE that using non-free album covers for movie soundtracks is not considered acceptable in "Soundtrack" or "Music" sections of film articles. If you disagree with this assessment, you can ask about this at WP:MCQ, WT:NFC or WT:FILM, or a discussion can be started about these files at WP:FFD. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:13, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

This also would apply to File:The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.jpg which is being used in The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild#Music and has the same non-free content use issues as the two files mentioned above. My suggestion to you would be to avoid uploading any additional soundtrack album cover art if your intention is to add them to "Music" related sections of film article because doing so is going to only likely end up resulting in the deletion of the file. If you feel the album is Wikipedia notable enough for a stand-alone article to be written about it, then it's better to create such an article and use the soundtrack cover there per item 1 of WP:NFCI.

You should probably also be aware that WP:FILMSCORE also advises against using "track lists" in "Soundtrack" sections of film articles, particularly when the individual "songs" are just intrumental scores created by the same composer or artist. Songs Wikipedia notable of their own accord (WP:NSONG) can be mentioned in prose as needed, but lists aren't really encouraged in such sections. Where does it say that Bardel wasn’t a co-production company on the new Ice Age spin-off? I don’t see how this is any different from the new Wimpy Kid? Scrat Tales Draft

Will you be ok with me adding this, it’s essentially what me and you put on the Ice Age (franchise) page:

On May 4, 2021, it was rumored that a short series produced by Blue Sky Studios known as Scrat Tales would be coming to Disney+. The series would follow the titular Scrat, who discovers that he has a son. Footage was later leaked onto YouTube, with former Blue Sky animators revealing that the series would be coming to Disney+ in 2022 after The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild. A plush for the character of Scrat's son was also unveiled via Just Play Products’ website, with the second image featuring a blue tag containing the logo for Scrat Tales, although the listing was retitled under The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild to promote the new film.

Interesting Disney Home Video Releases

In certain territories outside of North America, the Bionicle films received Disney DVD product label releases or even Walt Disney Home Entertainment co-distributed releases, which they co-distributed with Miramax. Most releases are only under the Miramax Home Entertainment and Buena Vista Home Entertainment label, however in some areas, even Warner Bros. Home Video distributed the films in a few areas under license from Buena Vista Home Entertainment.

The blue banner at the top translates to Special Edition, I translated that from an English keyboard to Russian language site.

It’s not very often to find Disney branded releases of Miramax films, but I’ve found more like Gordy and even some UK classroom edition releases for The Boy in the Striped Pajamas under the Disney Educational Productions label. I’ve really enjoyed researching unexpected home video releases that contain the product labels of contain Disney trademarks but were originally released from one of Disney’s secondary labels. Non-free content

Non-free content may be used on Wikipedia if all of teh non-free content criteria are met. With respect to File:Scratte Ice Age.png, you seem to be "fixing" things without any understanding of why the image has been marked for deletion. You seem to be trying out different changes to the license or rationale in the vain hope that it somehow makes it okay. It doesn't. And it looks to me like you still haven't read and understodd why the image is tagged for deletion. I'm not really sure you understand how this works.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia based on what reliable sources say. You can not add content based on what you think is true. You can not remove citations. Wikipedia is based on what those citations say. Just because you think something is a Sony film doesn't make it a Sony film. If a reliable source calls it a Sony, that is what makes it a Sony film.
