That was quick!

I actually hit the button accidentally before I managed to stick in my edit summary! I tried a null edit with an explanation, but I guess it didn't save that in the edit history. I'm undoing your last edit, with an edit comment this time... boy that was a quick catch! lol --82.21.97.70 (talk) 03:24, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

Was the intro actually “sandwiched” as another editor to moved the original picture claimed in the Propaganda article? Also the new caption for the Orphan Boy picture completely lost the meaning of what made it propaganda. OyMosby (talk) 03:59, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

@OyMosby:, I was not attempting to fix any kind of stylistic issues, nor did I change any captions. I reverted what I deemed to be vandalism on the page, with a user removing a significant portion of the article. You can view my edit here. If you believe I made a mistake, please do not hesitate to respond to this edit. Thanks! AviationFreak💬 04:13, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

Invitation to RedWarn

Hello, AviationFreak! I noticed you have been using Twinkle and was wondering if you'd like to beta test my new tool, RedWarn, specifically designed to improve your editing experience.

RedWarn is currently in use by over 75 other Wikipedians, and feedback so far has been extremely positive. If you're interested, please see the RedWarn tool page for more information on RedWarn's features and instructions on how to install it. Otherwise, feel free to remove this message from your page. If you have any further questions, please ping me or leave a message on my talk page. Your feedback is much appreciated! Ed6767 talk! 02:56, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

@Ed6767: Hi! I checked your tool out, and unfortunately I have decided to stick with Twinkle. My only real complaint was that RedWarn was a bit of a "new trick" for me to learn, as I have been using Twinkle for some time. I think if you were able to publicize RedWarn more to newer users, your tool would likely pick up significantly in use. I also wanted to congratulate you for your persistence in developing this tool. The difficulty of building and publicizing a tool is not lost on me as a Python developer. Best of luck to you! AviationFreak💬 04:19, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
AviationFreak, thanks! I understand it can be a bit of a learning curve and I've tried to ease this as much as possible but thanks for checking it out :) Ed6767 talk! 13:05, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

Yeah I removed content to put elsewhere in a soon to be created section and changed the page. I was in the process of working on adding sources and content but something came up and I haven’t made any progress. I plan on working on the page in the future just at the moment I’m pre occupied. So I’m glad you reverted it for the time being. Hopefully attempt 2 will be successful in the future. IrelandForever (talk) 03:04, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

@Carbon Death: First of all, welcome to Wikipedia! I reverted your edit because the caption wasn't written in the style of a Wikipedia article. Your caption expressed doubt as to whether or not the image was of Enevolden, and issues like this should usually be tackled at the article's WP:TALKPAGE (That would be here in your case). If you are fairly certain that the image is of Enevolden, go ahead and add it back, but with a caption that describes what's going on in the image. Again, I hope you enjoy your time here on Wikipedia! Feel free to contact me here again if you have any further questions. AviationFreak💬 01:03, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

Soviet Aviation Task Force Invitation

Hi! I just noticed your account on Wikipedia and would like to invite you to join the Soviet Aviation Task Force. I'm even more excited that you have a basic understanding of Russian, which can be very important for this kind of writing work (machine-translations of crash reports, biographies, etc rarely get abbreviations right, so knowing the cyrillic alphabet is a must). You might want to check out Category:Transport articles needing translation from Russian Wikipedia, Category:Stub-Class Soviet aviation articles, and of course don't forget to add your name to the list of members.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 14:19, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DevMalik09 (talkcontribs) 20:16, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

@DevMalik09: Unfortunately, your draft still does not meet the minimum requirements for biographical notability on Wikipedia. I looked through all of your sources, many of which were WP:SPS (primary sources are not preferred, and are often considered unreliable). No source that I saw showed true WP:SIGCOV (keep in mind that WP:SPS do not count towards the WP:GNG). For these reasons, I have declined your submission again. If you cannot find sources that show notability per the WP:GNG, then your subject is simply not notable as of now and is not suitable for inclusion on Wikipedia. AviationFreak💬 21:24, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi AviationFreak, Thanks for your review. I have made some changes as per your suggestions. I have removed many peacock words and added some more references as per your suggestions. Actually I have gathered some data from interviews of Thomas Matzen but I have tried my best to add references. Please accept the changes and help me to publish. It is my humble request.

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DevMalik09 (talkcontribs) 11:17, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

An interview is not particularly important to the WP:GNG, and there is only one that has been added. I do no believe this subject is notable. Please do not submit your draft to AfC again until you can show notability per WP:GNG. I don't mean to be harsh or rude, but these are the guidelines. AviationFreak💬 15:16, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

Hello! I'm having a go at the above draft, which you recently (and rightly) rejected. I wonder if you could have a glance at the current version and tell me what the most egregious parts might be? I have established her notability via three major film collections (WP:NARTIST). I knew she was notable the first time I saw the page, but it is unfortunately one of those cases where the artist is not the best (or shall we say neutral) representative of their work.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 03:47, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

@ThatMontrealIP: Thank you for your work! The draft looks a lot better now, I don't see any WP:PEACOCK or non-encyclopedic tone. Seems notable to me, and I'd be happy with this entering article space. Prior to your edits there was some puffy language and some unsourced awards - Those seem to all be removed now. Thanks again for your edits! AviationFreak💬 04:28, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

WP:PROF

Please see my comments at Draft:Juan Carlos Lopez-Alvarenga and Draft:Yaron Singer. DGG ( talk ) 09:44, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

@DGG: I evaluated both of these drafts based on WP:PROF, not the WP:GNG. You can see this in the decline reason - "(see the guidelines for academics)." I used the AFC Reviewer tool to make these declines, and what is on the page is the boilerplate message left by the tool when the reviewer indicates that the subject does not meet WP:PROF as an academic. I believe you have stated on both articles that they do not presently show meeting of WP:PROF. I don't think I've done anything wrong here. As a note, I would appreciate you contacting me in advance of leaving comments on pages stating that I have reviewed an article incorrectly.AviationFreak💬 15:04, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Sorry; I see they were in fact done as WP:PROF-the problem is rather with the WP:PROF template which does not make the necessary distinction. I and other people have been trying for years to improve the AFC templates, with very little success; there's a great deal of OWNership in that area. I have revised my comments wherever I've left them. And this has helped me find a good wording for them. I'm really sorry about this one--it's an error I should not have made. The article Bongcloud Attack has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no apparent notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Software Inc. moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Software Inc., does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Request on 02:56:41, 24 September 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by ThiagoWinters

Hi, AviationFreak,

How is it going?

I saw that you declined my submission because it does not have any secondary sources, and that is ok. This may be due to the fact that I mentioned the school colleges acceptances.

The thing is: We do not have any big official sourcing. We do have a single news report from an alumni that went to Harvard. We also have alumni Linkedin.

We do not have any news for every single alumni that went to top colleges. We may have for one, two, more, but definitely not for every one.

But I believe we can't mention anyone's LinkedIn! So what do I do? Do I mention this one source? Do I remove the paragraph?

Thank you so much in advance!

Best,

ThiagoWinters (talk) 02:56, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

@ThiagoWinters: Unfortunately, It seems that your draft as a whole may not be acceptable as an article on Wikipedia. Wikipedia has a guideline on notability of schools (WP:NSCHOOL). This guideline essentially states that the subject must have received significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Unless the PASB meets that guideline (i.e. significant coverage in a number of news articles or other publications), it is not notable and should not receive its own article. WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES states that a school outside of North America is usually noted in the article for the lowest-level local governing body. Given that, I believe the best place for PASB to be mentioned on Wikipedia is in the "Education" section of Salvador, Bahia. If you have any other questions, feel free to reply to this message. Pan American School of Bahia Submission/Edit

Hi,

It's me again! I apologize for writing this way, I do not know how to reply to existing Talk discussions.

Actually, yes, the school has received MULTIPLE news coverages. Also, although the school is outside North America, the school is an international, accredited North-American school, so yes, I do believe the article can be published.

Many schools have been published such as: Pan American Christian Academy Pan American School of Porto Alegre St. Paul's Graded

and many others! So yes, my article can be published. I will just fix the last article, add more info and sources and will republish it again. It is very weird that other schools don't have any did not need many sources to be published. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ThiagoWinters (talkcontribs) 04:13, 24 September 2020 (UTC) :

@ThiagoWinters: To reply to a talk page discussion, use one or more colons to indent your message as needed, using the "edit source" button at the top of the section you would like to edit. As far as the sourcing of other schools' articles, I completely agree that the articles you listed are improperly sourced(See my next post). If you like, you can propose the articles for deletion (usually done at WP:AfD, but be sure to do a WP:BEFORE check before nominating). Unfortunately, a large number of articles are published by new editors who do not go through the proper process (WP:AfC). I am glad that you are going through this process. On a final note, I would like to inform you of the WP:COI guidelines. You used the phrase "we" in your original post on my page, and I want to make sure you are aware that editing articles about subjects you have a close relationship is discouraged and declaring your COI is requested, as per WP:COIEDIT. Additionally, if you are being paid in any way to create this page, you must disclose your financial relationship per WP:PAY. I am not accusing you of anything, I just want to make sure you are aware of the guidelines. AviationFreak💬 04:31, 24 September 2020
@AviationFreak: Hey. Once again, these articles were all posted years ago and according to the edit history, they are all experienced editors, not new editors. As I mentioned previously, international schools can be submitted. Here is a link to a Wikipedia page for all international schools in Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:American_international_schools. There are more than 70 of them. So please, review the article if you want or not, but please don't deny the article just because "it is not a school located inside North America". As of my affiliation to the school, "We" is a vices of the language. I am a student of another school in the same city and I saw that many international schools have a Wikipedia page but this one doesn't. I'm trying to attend the school next year and this is something cool to talk in the admissions interview. Again, please do not delete or reject with the sole reason of "Being a school located outside of North America". The school has multiple NA accreditations, and there are more than 70 international schools from all around the world in this Wikipedia. It is not against the rules. ThiagoWinters💬 2:39 AM, 24 September 2020
@ThiagoWinters: I realize now that I have made a mistake in my previous response - As mentioned in WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES, secondary schools (which would include International Schools) were automatically presumed as notable prior to February 2017. A Request for Comment changed that, which is why school pages created before that seem so undersourced in retrospect. There is not an inherent prejudice against schools outside of North America on Wikipedia - The guideline is just stating that, when merged after a deletion discussion, schools in NA are often placed in the school district's page, while elsewhere (i.e. where there are not standardized school districts) the school is usually merged into the page on the lowest-level local authority.
