Comic vs cartoon

Creation Date?

Mirage Vol. 4 Canceled/Indefinite Hiatus?

It states in this article that Volume 4 (the most recent of the comics) went on an 8 month hiatus while Peter Laird supervised the new cgi film. However it has now been 12 months since the last of the Volume 4 comics was released. But what has really come to my attention is that on the official Mirage TMNT website (ninjaturtles.com) under the comics section it gives Volume 4 the dates 2001-2006, instead of 2001-Present, and says "On indefinite hiatus" beneath that. There is no further details on exactly why Laird has not published issue 29 of the series but it sounds like Volume 4's future is now in serious doubt. I think the end of the article should be edited to mention this(as well as on the main Turtles page's Mirage section which has the same info and where I left this same discussion). What does anyone else think? Have you heard further news on Volume 4's present state? Danleary25 04:52, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Volume 4 summaries

Can someone who owns them post summaries of the Volume 4 comics? It doesn't seem fit to leave them out, given that it may be a while before they're finished (forever?), and that Volume 3 was dropped from canon so this 4 is "next in line".

Mirage vs Image series

Is there one of these only, two different series and one with no article, two things being confused here, or what? --HanzoHattori 06:32, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Hm, this is kinda confusing. When the Image series started, it was considered a continuation of Mirage's Volume 2, only with a different publisher and a new creative team. When Mirage started publishing TMNT again, the Image series was dropped from its canon but was still considered to be Volume 3. Hence, the most recent TMNT comics published by Mirage are Volume 4. So depending on your point of view, the Image series could be considered an entirely different entity deserving its own article. As the article stands right now, the Image series is considered a minor deviation within the broader scope of the Mirage series, and its information is included within this context. -- Wild Goose 14:31, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes, the Image comics are in the Mirage comics article. Because the series was published by two separate companies, there is a valid argument for creating two separate articles for Mirage and Image. The reason this has not been done yet is because 1) The Image series only lasted 23 issues, and an article about TMNT Image comics would not likely grow to more than a stub of an article. 2) It's easier (and convenient) to include all pertinent information about Volumes 1-4 in one article, rather than having readers navigate away from the page and back again in order to get the whole story. 3) There used to be a TMNT (comics) article that included Mirage and Image, but also Archie, Dreamwave, and everything else, and it got to be too unruly. In my opinion, the Mirage comics article is concise and readable and should remain as it is. But if you (or someone else) would like to take the time to separate the articles and provide links between them and such, I wouldn't revert your edits. Plot summary sections

In truth, these sections shouldn't really exist, and what little is of use should be merged into the Publication history portions, as per WP:PLOT. Either way, they have been frequently vandalized to the point where they are almost useless. ("grow sponges"? Seriously?) And there's been no addition of Vol 4 at all. I think I might as well just get rid of them. Indeed, I shall. oknazevad (talk) 01:34, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

What happened to all the sources?

I know that this is mainly highlighted for need of copyediting and proofreading, but from the last paragraph in the first section after the intro down, there is not a single source cited anywhere.
