Unanimous vote[edit]

Is Zach's unanimous vote-out perhaps worthy of a footnote beneath 'Voting History' for this page? Or does that lean too far into trivia? ASpacemanFalls (talk) 19:17, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Seems trivial to me. Bgsu98 (talk) 02:50, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Article is unsourced, Jackson was removed not evacuated[edit]

Each section needs some sources. Also, Jackson wasn't evacuated for a current medical condition, he was "removed" because the producers couldn't take the chance that going off lithium might cause serious side affects. I sourced this, but we need many more sources. Fyunck(click) (talk) 06:52, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the point about Jackson's removal, but if you look at many other "Episodes" sections in Survivor season articles, you'll find that many of them have little to no sources aside from the ratings/viewers and such. To cite sources for every little detail that happens in the episode (e.g. John wanted to vote out Amy) seems absurd to me and makes the article more difficult to navigate when one is trying to make a constructive edit. Larger-scale events (such as Jackson's removal) would be good to have a source since it was covered more in-depth by multiple outlets. Just my two cents. 50.232.92.83 (talk) 10:58, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You might not need it for "every little detail" but we need a source for each section otherwise no one knows whether it's true. It could be made up. Even if the source is a link to the episode itself it would greatly help, but we can't just go on faith. Fyunck(click) (talk) 19:39, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
According to MOS:TVPLOT: “Plot summaries, and other aspects of a program's content… may be sourced from the works themselves.” Bgsu98 (talk) 19:48, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So even a link to the episode itself should suffice. But as we saw, there was a clear error because we had no source. Fyunck(click) (talk) 20:32, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What was the “clear error”? Bgsu98 (talk) 20:51, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The item about the lithium was completely wrong and the fact they were removed, not evacuated. That has been corrected because we had a source. Fyunck(click) (talk) 21:28, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That’s not a “clear error”; that’s a disagreement about phrasing. A clear error would be the wrong person listed as being voted out, incorrect votes on the results table, the wrong tribes listed as winning challenges, etc. Bgsu98 (talk) 22:03, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That was a 100% clear sentence error. He was taken out because they couldn't take a chance on him getting ill. He wasn't taken out because he was ill. It was really wrong and was corrected. Just as bad, if not worse, than an incorrect vote. If it was only "Removed" or "Evacuated", that would be a disagreement on phrasing. But that was only part of the problem. Persistent Vandalism[edit]

Why are colors being removed?[edit]

Tribe colors have been used since the beginning. We can't use only color to determine an attribute but in this case we aren't since the tribe name is also present. Fyunck(click) (talk) 05:57, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Talk:Survivor: Africa § New table layout and Talk:Survivor: Cook Islands/GA1 for discussion and can be discuss there. ApprenticeWiki work 06:30, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And no one has has said why over there. Fyunck(click) (talk) 06:40, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And heck... we could add border colors to help out or change the shades of color to something softer (while keeping the basic orange, green, and blue). We don't want to make things worse for those not vision-challenged either. There must be some middle ground other than removing an important attribute of the tribe that helps readers quickly discern what tribe diminished the quickest. Fyunck(click) (talk) 09:54, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's not even just the colors that are being removed but one person is completely redoing the table formats to make it best accessible for them. Subjectively speaking, they aren't really taking into account how others perceive the tables or their accessibility. Where was the vote on this? Because I don't agree with the new layouts at all, they're pretty terrible, inaccessible and among the worst changes I've seen on Wikipedia. I understand the colors violate the policy and those can be changed but we should reach a consensus on the tables as a collective, not by one person who just started watching Survivor and found it difficult to understand. Miss HollyJ (talk) 22:09, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. The tables are now harder to read for the general populous, which itself is against MOS. The colors don't have to be exact for the tribe... they should be as close as we can get while following html5. But the colors are quite important and really help with navigation. Remove the countries of the Canadian contestant's hometowns to keep it consistent. SteveChoi07 (talk) 02:18, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not doneThis is a US-based game and our readers may not be familiar or automatically assume the towns are in the US. Fyunck(click) (talk) 05:56, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fair point. What pushed me over the edge to doing so was seeing the same consistency on the other Survivor articles, such as Survivor 41, but I see that was also a similar situation to here. Cheers! —Sirdog (talk) 06:01, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Sia Award[edit]

Is it worth mentioning that Sia gave Drea $100,000? There's a video about it on the Survivor Instagram page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.112.36.252 (talk) 10:07, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Season summary[edit]

This section should be kept concise, short, and to-the-point rather than include every single elimination and why that player was voted out. Information like that can be found in each of the episode summaries. It would make it easier to read and follow along with for someone who's not as in-tune with the season's events as a Survivor fan would be. 50.232.92.83 (talk) 11:50, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree! I like the rewrites you’ve put through. Bgsu98 (talk) 16:04, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Viewing Figures[edit]

The bottommost table with the United States viewing figures are stilling missing data for the final four episodes. It's mostly the DVR figures that are incomplete. NecropolisEclipse (talk) 00:09, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Future appearances[edit]

This section refers only to castaways who make future appearances on Survivor, not other media. No one reading this article cares if a player from this season was later seen on The Challenge, The Amazing Race, Judge Alex, a Rob Schneider movie, etc. This article is about Survivor, so please, stick to Survivor. Greggens (talk) 21:12, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You are going to get some (deserved) pushback on this. Other similar reality series identify other series where players have appeared, especially when players hop around from one series to another. Bgsu98 (Talk) 22:32, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So if other Wikipedia editors all jumped off a cliff, that would make it okay for you to do it, too? Greggens (talk) 20:30, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DVD cover[edit]

I have uploaded DVD covers of Survivor 41, 42 and 43 and for some reason they keep being deleted when made the infobox. I understand that you may personally find the logo more aesthetically pleasing but for consistency's sake, doesn't it make more sense to have the DVD covers like literally every other season?
