Spanky Ham and Wiki's automated filters[edit]

It seems obvious to me that Triumph the Insult Comic Dog is a pretty huge influence on Spanky Ham, but when I tried to explain why, the Wiki's automated filters smacked my input down for being "potentially unconstructive". As a result, I had to censor some of the words by inserting asterisks. Can someone with higher, uh, security clearance or whatever, please fix this for me? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.207.48.193 (talk) 05:19, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deaths of Ling-Ling[edit]

I decided to remove the list of deaths from Ling-Ling's section on the characters page and give it its own page. This way, more background can be given on each of the episodes mentioned, and the list can be updated and expanded as the series goes along without taking up an inordinate amount of space on the characters page.Raymondluxuryacht 09:41, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Images and Links[edit]

I added a few images, and linked a bunch of things. --Evildevil 02:53, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Great idea, especially now that we have pages for each episode.Raymondluxuryacht 06:07, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Memorable Characters[edit]

Would a "memorable characters" section be worth adding to the characters page? It could have memorable one-time characters like "Xandir's Girlfriend", Strawberry Sweetcake, and the Kings of Insurance? If the characters appear in another episode, they could easily be moved to recurring. I'm not sure if there's enough information available on any one-off character except Sweetcake. Just putting the idea out there. --Evildevil 02:52, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would be a cool idea, just as long as we only include characters who are truly significant, and people don't just start adding any random character who appears in an episode.Raymondluxuryacht 04:06, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. I started it up. My info may be a bit wrong or redundant there, so someone may want to touch it up. I decided the King of Insurance isnt important enough. Instead, I put a personal favourite of mine up... Unusually Flexible Girl. --Evildevil 05:33, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good job. I went back over some of the text and added Bob the Cucumber and Super Nanny. Unusually Flexible definitely had to be up there; I would have added her if you hadn't.Raymondluxuryacht 05:55, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And good job to you in the addition of Bob and Super Nanny. And for fixing my little mistakes. I thught I went a bit offtopic on UFG. Guess not. You just made it less wordy. Thanks for that. --Evildevil 18:09, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just realized that all the characters we've added so far are (presumably) dead, so I guess we can forget about them becoming recurring characters. With Drawn Together you never know, though. I'm debating over whether to include Live Action Cow. She was a pretty important part of that episode, but it was just a photograph being moved around, after all, rather than an actual character, per se.Raymondluxuryacht 19:01, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I really dont know if there's enough information available about Live Action Cow to put in anyway, without having to resort to recapping most of the plot in his episode. But then again, that's what I found myself doing for UFG. --Evildevil 19:47, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

True, but at least with UFG, you got a feel for the character's personality and some of her history. You didn't really get that with Live Action Cow, so you're right, you'd basically just be rehashing the plot of that episode. Probably better just to leave her off.Raymondluxuryacht 20:05, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wooldoor Sockbat[edit]

It's said Wooldoor is modeled on SpongeBob, but I see Stimpy in him too - his shape, voice, and behavior. His violent tendencies could possibly be explained by surrealism, surrealists having said "The simplest surrealist gesture consists in going out into the street, gun in hand, and taking pot shots at the crowd!" Шизомби 04:21, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why "Wool door Sock bat"? Does it mean something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.78.227.34 (talk) 13:00, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wooldoor is modeled after just about all the "wacky" type cartoon characters. A lot of sources say he is a SpongeBob parody, but thttp://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Characters_in_Drawn_Together&action=edithat's really only because Spongebob is the most obvious visual influence on the character. I personally find his personality more reminiscent of the Looney Tunes characters, but they're all influences, SpongeBob and Stimpy included; none of them are really the "prime" basis for the character. As for his violent tendencies, I'm not sure if surrealism is a factor. I think the idea is that Wooldoor isn't fully attuned to the world around him, so he doesn't realize when he hurts people.Raymondluxuryacht 04:44, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bleh[edit]

I think it would be good to have an image of Bleh to add to the page, and it would be nice to have one of her without the helmet. Obviously, we couldn't use one with nudity, but there are plenty of moments in the episode where she has clothes on or the body is cropped that I think we could use. I think the scene where she first takes off her helmet and robe (but before she takes off the top of her swimsuit) would be good. Anyone able to help?Raymondluxuryacht 22:06, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've only got season 2 stuff rightly available, but it's definitely a good idea. --Evildevil 19:11, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spanky and Napster[edit]

I thought it was pretty obvious that Spanky is a parody of the Napster mascot. It keeps getting deleted on here when added, however.

It gets deleted because it's wrong. Spanky is a parody of Flash animation characters. His design has nothing to do with the Napster logo (which, by the way, is a cat, not a pig). They really don't even look that much alike.Raymondluxuryacht 09:17, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

original artwork?[edit]

Someone added information on the "original artwork" for the housemates in their information. Anyone know where to find copies of this? --Evildevil 05:34, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think this [1] is what they're referring to. It's an article in Variety from when the show first got picked up. The image is pretty small, so you can't see a lot of details, but it's obvious these are not the final versions of the characters.Raymondluxuryacht 05:47, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. Thanks. I've never seen it before. --Evildevil 17:27, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Now that I look at it, a couple of details in the article aren't quite accurate, so I'll be making some minor tweaks.Raymondluxuryacht 17:32, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Character pages[edit]

I separated the info on each of the main characters into its own page. I admit that the images in the infoboxes aren't very good at the moment, but I'm working on improving those.Raymondluxuryacht 00:45, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome work. I havent checked the DT pages as often as I've been during the season. All the changes since March are very positive. Good job. --Evildevil 05:08, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I figured the off-season would be a good time to give all the pages a good going-over and make some more complicated enhancements.Raymondluxuryacht 19:52, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Strawberry Sweetcake and Xandir's girlfriend[edit]

Ms. Pac-Man was not Pac-Man in drag. The character at the gay bash was Ms. Pac-Man pretending to be Pac-Man, and at any rate, it was Ms. Pac-Man who was friends with Xandir's girlfriend, regardless of who was pretending to be who at the party. Strawberry Sweetcake was officially Wooldoor's replacement, not Toot's. After Sweetcake was chosen as a new housemate, the new credit sequence eliminated Wooldoor, but continued to include Toot.Raymondluxuryacht 21:24, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, Ms. Pac-Man was just Pac-Man in drag. It was not Ms. Pac-Man pretending to be Pac-Man. Xandir's girlfriend was friends with Pac-Man (in drag) the whole time. Xandir and Foxxy determind Pac-Man to be a "trannie" as was worded on the show. That was supposed to be obvious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elranzer (talkcontribs) 09:00, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jun-Jee, should he be Moved?[edit]

Jun Jee's Paragraph is gettin very long and it is my oppinion that he should be moved to a seperate page. If so please send his picture two.

User:Healthinspector 20:30, Oct. 4 2006 (UTC)

Given that the season 3 premiere will be only the third time Jun-Jee has appeared on the show, I'm not sure he's an important enough character yet to have his own page. But it's definitely something to keep in mind for later.Raymondluxuryacht 03:20, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Rather than putting in so many section headers, I reorganized a lot of the info that was added into the main narrative. Also, I removed the parts that speculated about what happens in the upcoming episode; we can add that info when the episode actually airs and we know exactly what happens.Raymondluxuryacht 03:37, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think the statement that the character's name wasn't mentioned on the show until "Freaks and Greeks" is so not true. Just watched "The Other Cousin" (DVD-Version) and heard clearly Jun-Jee saying his name. But as he uses Ling-Ling's language in that episode, I'm not sure about considering this as a clear mention, so I pointed it out here instead of editing the article.84.131.125.81 21:22, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He does say "Jun-Jee", but in the episode it's not clear he's referring to his name. "Freaks & Greeks" is the first time it's clear his name is being mentioned. I might reword the statement to reflect that.Raymondluxuryacht 22:35, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sénor Eskimo Goldburg[edit]

Are you sure that Sénor Eskimo Goldberg is really Edward Goldberg? The facial design for the two characters seems far too diffrent.

On a further note, Unless I'm really stupid, how do we even KNOW his name is Edward Goldberg in the first place? I don't remeber his name ever being revealed on the show. DSMeatte 11:59, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

His name was mentioned in "Terms of Endearment", when Wooldoor brings him out. As for Senor Eskimo Goldberg being the same character, I'm not sure. Technically, I'm not sure any of them are supposed to be the same character. It's more of a recurring stereotype than an actual character in the show. I might try to reword it to reflect that.Raymondluxuryacht 15:01, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with individual character articles[edit]

All of the main characters in Drawn Together currently have their own individual articles, but neither of those articles satisfy the non-trivial real-world coverage requirement found in the notability guidelines for fictional subjects. As such, these articles should be merged into this list. Neelix (talk) 20:49, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I 100% support this. Those articles have been bugging me for a long time, and while I personally don't have the knowledge of the inclination to put work into them (I've only seen like 2 or 3 episodes of the show, many years ago), if anyone else wants to take the effort to merge them I will at least have your back if anyone complains about it. —Politizer talk/contribs 23:40, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Support - Ignoring the fact that FICT is not an operational guideline at the moment, they still fail WP:NOTE. I would support a merge into this list, as we should not have articles that are only used to write a plot summary for.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 00:33, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
strongly oppose - Because the current state of this article is terrible and it used to be so much better. We currently have 2 terribly written articles on Hero and Wooldoor and I can;t help but wonder what happened to the original well written and well sourced pages that were up about a year ago. Vanillav (talk) 23:50, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - They were redirected to the main character list. Later on, someone took it upon themselves to write new articles for Hero and Wooldoor out of scratch, and... they're not good. At all. I say either bring the old articles back or re-redirect them to the character list.Sandmaster (talk) 02:38, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]
