Christianity and Kingdom Hearts

I don't think that section (now that it's been deleted) should return. In my opinion, it's mostly speculation and drawing parallels that one person may have developed from overthinking the themes of Kingdom Hearts.

Um, can you provide a link to the deleted section in question? Anyways, I don't even see why there should be a section on Christianity in the KH article. I mean, what about it has to do with Christianity? Good and evil, Sora being some messiah-like "Chosen One" (with HUGE yellow shoes...); these are things common with plenty of RPGs (except the yellow shoes...well, maybe Jesus and Sephiroth owned some yellow Nikes, I dunno...). I agree, deleting it a smart move. After all, if you try hard enough, you can find religious parallels in anything...I got it! Ansem was Satan, Sora was Jesus, Mickey was GOD!!!! --Wikiwow 19:04, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

He has got a point, you can basicly find something biblic in just abount anything and I don't think the image of kingdom hearts being a christian game is a very good idea

Actually come to think of it this brings up a topic I spoke about in a thread I was in. I was reading The Da Vinci Code at the time and came across something: a sliver crucifix with thirteen embedded pieces of black onyx. Langdon found it vaguely surprising. The Symbol was known as a crux gemmata- a cross bearing thirteen gems-A Christian ideogram for Christ and His twelve apostles. When I got through reading that I thought of Organization XIII and thought of Xemnas being Christ and Xigbar through Roxas as the 12 apostles. What if Tetsuya is pulling some of this stuff from the Christian religion. What if some bits of the "Christian Way" runs into Kingdom Hearts 3? I don't know just me thinking. --Le Raine

Then it's speculation and has no place in the article. Axem Titanium 22:34, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
Even more so, it's simply original research -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 03:04, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Heck if you look at the emblem of the papacy you will see that there are two things that kind of look like keyblades there. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a9/Emblem_of_the_Papacy.svgAnimetard 22:15, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Klaus Baude 123 21:46, 19 December 2006 (UTC)In my opinion I considere very interesting the science of the heart as they depict it in KH, besides that I do not understand why they called the game Kingdom Hearts if it hardly appears on the game, my points is they could have called it " Sora's Chronicle" or any other thing.

How does christianity connect with Kingdom Hearts? Sora wasn't perfect. Far from it actually.Jesusinmysock 19:48, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

I think i know..the "Light" being God and the darkness being the devil. in some cases it seemed liek there was a connection. i didnt like that either. good thing its deleted. BlitzerNatu 05:11, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Disney castle

Ok, I'd just like to say that the disney castle, is NOT (I repeat) NOT an original world. That ONE castle has appeared millions of times. Where you might ask? The intro to every disney movie. Trunksamurai 20:04, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Please sign your comments by adding four tildes (~) to the end of your message. Anyway, there still hasn't been a Disney movie that features a castle where Mickey reigns as king. For all we know, that castle from the intro could be anyone's. Axem Titanium 00:51, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
But the fact is, Disney castle was created by Disney FOR their movies. It wasn't an idea created Disney AND Square Enix, which are called "Original" ideas. Disney Castle, is owned by disney, end of story. So, I really think you should put Disney Castle in the disney worlds category. Trunksamurai 20:04, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
Now that I look at it, it is a "Disney-based world" as the header says. Next time, try to be bold in fixing things, rather than waiting for approval. Sometimes, it will increase the overall quality of the article, even if it's not in the same direction as you had intended. Axem Titanium 02:08, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Last time I did that, someone kept deleting what I had written down. I'm still pretty new to this. Anyway I'm good. Trunksamurai 12:46, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
If you're talking about the exterior of the castle, you can't count that. Now if you've seen the interior of the castle in a Disney movie before, please tell which movie that is. Because I honestly haven't seen that interior before. Although I will admit that it looks a good deal like Princess Minnie's castle in Mickey Mouse: The Three Musketeers. Note: I'm not positive that I have the title down, word for word.MissRora 04:23, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
The Castle that's at the begining of Disney movies is based on the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, (I think I Spelled that right), and the castle in KH2 doesn't look much like it, also, the Disney Castle was in the first KH game, though you could not go in it, it was there, it's were Goofy and Donald flew from. - ((Someone))
The one in the beginning of the movies is the Cinderella Castle, which most likely gave inspiration to Disney Castle as it is also used as a Disneyland logo. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 22:34, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
You can access Disney castle in KH1, by using debug. Disney castle was intended to be in KH1, but got dropped out. I saw a video of Kingdom hearts Beta and it indeed had a footage of Sora running around Disney castle. Plus, the fact that it is called DISNEY castle, obviously is intended for a disney based world. I also think that SE got the idea of the interior of Disney castle from Disney World Trunksamurai 12:14, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

PAL?

Will somebody please tell me what the heck PAL means?

PAL is a form of color encoding that sources of television input must be rendered in order to function on television sets made to process that kind of information. NTSC is another form of television encoding. PAL region refers to the regions that use PAL which video game publishers usually release games last, for whatever reason. Axem Titanium 03:20, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
I don't know whether they release it as on CD with multiple languages, but it's because they translate the games into the all the PAL region languages.—ウルタプ 05:14, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
No, translating a game doesn't take longer just because there are more languages. There is a team for every language and those are all taking about the same time and wokring at the same time. The reason SE's PAL games usually come out much later than in the US is that SE Europe apparently doesn't start working on the games till SE US has created their version and than bases the European version on that. If SE Europe would start the localisation process at the same time SE US does, all localisations would be finished at about the same time. --84.184.121.81 22:15, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
In the case of KH2, the PAL version has been more delayed also because this time they have took the pains to adapt it to 50Hz TVs, which disposes with the black bars, vertically compressed appearance and slowing down that plagued KH1 and FFX - finally! Also, I don't know about other languages, but the Spanish localizations has been re-dubbed in Spanish (quite well I might add) 217.125.123.132 14:13, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Glossary

I distinctly remember there existing at one time an article that acted as a glossary of Kingdom Hearts terms such as Keyblades, Hearts, Gummi Ships, etc. Why was this article deleted? Kakashi-sensei 07:16, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

It was deleted because it was a flaming pile of cruft with little hope for improvement. Axem Titanium 21:30, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Point taken. Kakashi-sensei 00:36, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes, thank you Axem for that great judgement. Real helpful when people want information about it.--Sam-El 14:27, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
I detect some sarcasm there. Perhaps reconsider the glossary? Plebmonk 21:02, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Reception

This section is completely biased and in no way accurately reflects the game's reception. Almost all reviews of the game were positive, and the legacy and popularity of the series should be evidence enough. I suggest removing the reception section from the soon-to-be-deleted Kingdom Hearts series article and replacing the one written here. Kakashi-sensei 07:27, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

I don't seem to see any afd tags on that article. Axem Titanium 21:30, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
I've attempted a rewrite that more acurately reflects the actual reception of the game. 128.135.192.83 19:14, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Another Side, Another Story?

Why does ASAS get directed to here?

Because it doesn't deserve an article. Interrobamf 22:40, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Shouldn't there be info about it then? There's only a brief mention under Final Mix, which mostly says that it was added onto.
A note at the end of the story section, like in Kingdom Hearts II, would be fine. Interrobamf 00:31, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts Novel

I have recently been informed that there is not only a Kingdom Hearts manga, but in Japan, there is also a Kingdom Hearts novel, matching the other novels/books based on Video Games and Manga in there. I think it should be added into the Merchandise section, but only with more information on it. CrazyNekoRun 07:22, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Sure thing. Go do some research on it and get back to me so we can edit the article to include it. Axem Titanium 04:02, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Kingdom hearts manga project

I want to start a KH manga project. I want it to be a full page, not just a little mention to it. If any of you want to join. And don't worry, I found a site that has ALL CHAPTERS. So, we have all have something to work with. If you're interested, reply. Trunksamurai 21:07, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

The information is likely not notable enough to warrant a separate page. --TheEmulatorGuy 05:35, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Keyblade

I would like to add some information about the Keyblade in this article as it doesn't really explain what the Keyblade and the Keyblade Master(s) actually are. I noticed that the other articles are lacking in this area too. Is this a good idea? Yuanchosaan 10:42, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

That was actually suggested on the talk page of Kingdom Hearts series and I think it would be a great idea to add information about it there. Axem Titanium 20:14, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

--Klaus Baude 123 00:30, 20 December 2006 (UTC)The keyblade, is a mistery to the people who play KH, they play a more significant part in KH3:The rise of the unknown, also by the side name of "The keyblade war". Has not the "Unknown" been mentioned in other KH games? Well in KH3 there is some sort of key chain-less keyblade graveyard, I think it was created by "The Chasers", wich means "The creators of the Keyblade", I do noyt know how the story involves Sora but it is worth playing.

Well... much of the information you just announced is just a speculation for now; nothing's official yet. For now we could just lay down the known detail of the Keyblade like how it changes in form and power according to that keychain is attatched. DiamondDragon contact 00:38, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

I wrote a draft of the information located here: User:Yuanchosaan/Drafts. I have not played the game for about a year so some of the facts may be a bit fuzzy. Please read it and comment. The section also needs some citations but I guess it will do for now... If no one has any objections I will place it in the article ASAP. Feel free to discuss edits/reversions/possible improvements here or on my talk page. Yuanchosaan 04:27, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

It looks good, but try to avoid using the fictional world as an explanation for gameplay elements (like the keychain and opening tutorial stuff). Also, the section is about the keyblade so don't talk about Donald or Goofy's weapons. Finally, try to keep WP:FICT in mind when you insert it into the Kingdom Hearts series article. I'd go with a heading like "==Fictional universe==". Axem Titanium 17:38, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
It's in now but you're right, it needs rather a lot of help. Sorry it took so long but I was on holiday with no internet access :(.Please help. And do you think that's an appropiate section to place it in? Yuanchosaan 08:15, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
I don't see the purpose of dedicating an entire section to the Keyblade. Its function can easily be mentioned in one sentence in the plot, and the gameplay elements in the gameplay section. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 11:55, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
I don't see why not as it is part of the main plot, but if you think it can be overviewed in a more concise format then go ahead. Yuanchosaan 04:38, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

The Keyblade is of much importants, in KH3, because apparently at the opening scene there in somthing ressembling a Keyblade graveyard, but it has also the form of the crossroads shown in KH1/2. So I mean that keyblade are of very much importants. and this is not a speculation, just to keep it clear DiamondDragon.--Klaus Baude 123 18:50, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

So should the section be replaced or not? I'd prefer it in there myself but still, it's nothing to hold a revert war over. Yuanchosaan 00:30, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm going to go with a tentative "yes", but not in the same way as before. Talk about the whole fictional universe including how it is divided into "worlds" and maybe merge in the article about Heartless. And do it on the Kingdom Hearts series page, not here. Axem Titanium 01:18, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Sounds fine to me. I'll get to it sometime soon, just need to do a runthrough of the story again. And can we place further comments on the Kingdom hearts series talk page seeing as that is where we are going to put the information. There is a section about it there. Yuanchosaan 03:51, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Spoilers marker

A recent rv by Axem titanium made me think that this article needs some kind of warning that it contains spoilers, or perhaps somebody can tell me where I`m going wrong. Plebmonk 02:24, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

The issue has been discussed to death. It is consensus that spoiler warnings will not appear on WP:SE articles because a section marked "Plot" is obviously going to have spoilers anyway and normal people will realize that without an ugly warning marker. Axem Titanium 16:50, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough. Plebmonk 01:38, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
I think that a spoiler tag is worth putting on, especially because people generally look for one before reading, and especially because many people do not read the entire article, and just skip to other parts. A spoiler tag is much more useful than not, and SHOULD be put on. While I see your point, it seems almost silly not to put one on a popular topic. Besides, there are people who do not know what plot means(you'd be very suprised). I have had storylines ruined for me because of things like this while skipping to the bottom without fear of a spoiler catching my eye, because a spoiler tag WAS lacking. Alreajk 21:17, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia has "spoilers" due to the need to be comprehensive. Welcome to common sense. ' 21:22, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for agreeing with me. I added the spoiler tag. By the way, I am not against your No Spoiler campaign, but spoiler warnings are very useful at the moment and are used all over Wikipedia. It would be breaking a useful trend to decide to get rid of spoilers on this article only. Alreajk 21:34, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
It's not "this article only". See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Final_Fantasy#Content_and_behavior. We're not going to pander to people without the common sense to not go to Wikipedia if they don't want to be spoiled by what they arbitrarily deem to be "spoilers". ' 02:10, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
My bad, sorry. Anyway I do agree with the no spoiler tag project, I just felt that it wasn't a policy so it would be better to have it. Now that you have lifted me out of ignorance, I thank you. lol. Alreajk 02:14, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Setting

I revised the section with an eye towards trimming excess and tightening up the style. My apologies if I bolloxed it; I'm still learning. The Dragon of Life 22:42, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
