Club Career 2005 Error[edit]

It says: "Born in San Isidro de El General, Navas made his professional debut with Deportivo Saprissa on 6 November 2005, in a league match against Asociación Deportiva Carmelita.[3] He was the first-choice keeper in his two final seasons with the club, winning six national championships and the CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 2005."

The CONCACAF Champions Cup was played in early 2005, so if he debuted on 6 November, he didn't play in the 2005 CONCACAF Champions Cup. It's possible he was on the roster in early 2005 before his debut, but the article makes it sound like he was first-choice in the 2005 CONCACAF Champions Cup, which isn't true. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EvanJ35 (talkcontribs) 15:31, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Done i had removed 2005 CONCACAF Champions' Cup. According to the match report he did not play in the finals (both legs). Rationale in WP:Footy is, player can still won a medal, given citation said he won such honour. But since no such citation existed, so we can't verify the fact that he won the Champions' Cup, or more firmly we can say he did not play in the cup, so not likely to win it. To all ip editor, as of 3 January Navas still received call-up from Real Madrid. So please wait for official announcement on any transfer, which most of the times rumour are not materialized. Matthew hk (talk) 14:35, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not in source[edit]

I had removed this ref

  • "Monarca usó 24 jugadores" [Monarca used 24 players] (in Spanish). La Nación. 17 May 2010. Retrieved 28 February 2014.

Which was added by Vanished user 201913 (well he is officially vanished so no need to tag his possible new id), which according to the current (22:42, 9 January 2019 (UTC)) version of the article, have nothing to do as a citation for the honour he won. The article only related to Navas , for his not yet renewal of the contract. So, anyone feel free to recycle the ref as part of the transfer detail for the 2010 move. Saprissa career statistics[edit]

I think that Navas's Saprissa career statistics could look like this:

2008-09: unclear how many league and playoff matches he participated in (Saprissa had 32 league matches and 6 playoff matches), based on the English and Spanish language articles for Navas, someone recorded that he either had 20 or 21 regular season appearances and 6 playoff appearances; 5 Concacaf Champions League appearances (Continental)

2009-10: 23 Primera Division league matches, 4 Primera Division playoff matches (categorized under "Cup"), 4 Concacaf Champions League appearances

Transfermarkt shows his Concacaf Champions League appearances and league matches for 2009-10.

The Concacaf website was redesigned recently and all of their old match reports are gone.

As part of the 07-08 season, Saprissa played in the 2007 UNCAF Interclub Cup (8 matches) and the 2008 CONCACAF Champions' Cup (6 matches). The Spanish Keylor Navas article puts him at 7 continental matches that year. Having trouble verifying this.
