James Buchanan's military service[edit]

Buchanan was the first of only two presidents in American history with military experience who were not officers. The other was Harry S. Truman.[1]

Political Party[edit]

Absent from this Wiki is Buchanan's political party, which should be near the top. I came here seeking the answer, but had to turn to other means. 2601:154:C100:2F80:64F8:24F0:87FC:D79 (talk) 17:20, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccurate info[edit]

At the top it says "As President, Buchanan intervened to assure the Supreme Court's majority ruling in the pro-slavery decision in the Dred Scott case."

The Dred Scott decision was decided only two days after James Buchanan was inaugurated as President. James Buchanan never made any public comments about the case prior to the decision. Revan5616 (talk) 10:25, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
