The siege of Holywell Street[edit]

Hello!
Commenting the introduction of the Obscene Publications Act of 1857, Lord Chief Justice, Lord Campbell said the enforcement of this act is the "siege of Holywell-Street [sic]" (M. J. D. Roberts, "Morals, Arts and the Law: The Passing of the Obscene Publications Act of 1957", Victorian Studies, 28:4, p. 626.) Is it possible that he meant this street? No, that is the other Holywell Street in London, off the Strand. Now completely demolished btw but very notorious in its day. Colin4C (talk) 14:45, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
