Are people sure about the date of death given here? I seem to vaguely remember him backing Scottish Militant Labour candidates in the 1990s. PatGallacher 00:55, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The "Peerage" site the date is taken from has been known to be wrong, but given his unending loyalty to the Labour Party, support for SML candidates sounds unlikely. Warofdreams talk 02:29, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
