Iraj (Persian: ايرج, also Romanized as Īraj)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Ruin Rural District of the Central District of Esfarayen County, North Khorasan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,506 in 366 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,594 people in 424 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,421 people in 431 households.[2]
