Visitors to Venezuela must obtain a visa from one of the Venezuelan diplomatic missions unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries.
Visitors are required to have proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay and documents required for their next destination.
Visitors not holding return / onward tickets could be refused entry. Naturalized Venezuelan citizens, must hold in addition to their passport and National Identity Card (Cedula de Identidad), the original (or certified copy) of the official decree (Gaceta Oficial) of their naturalization issued by the Venezuelan government.
All visitors must have a passport valid for at least 6 months.

Visa exemption[edit]
Holders of passports of the following countries may enter Venezuela without a visa for up to 90 days for tourist purposes (unless otherwise noted). Extension of stay is possible once for the same period (except for citizens of Bolivia and Colombia).[1][2]

Non-ordinary passports[edit]
- Holders of diplomatic, official or service passports of Algeria, Angola, Austria, Barbados, Belarus, Belize, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czech Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Gambia, Germany, Guatemala, Guinea, Guyana, Honduras, Hungary, India, Israel, Jamaica, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Lithuania, Mexico, Namibia, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Syria, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Vietnam and holders of diplomatic passports of Colombia, Italy, Portugal, Qatar, Suriname may enter Venezuela without a visa for 90 days.
- Holders of diplomatic, official or service passports of Brazil may enter Venezuela without a visa for 60 days.
- Holders of diplomatic, official or service passports of China, Indonesia, Iran, Singapore, South Korea & Turkey may enter Venezuela without a visa for 30 days.
- Holders of passports for public affairs issued by China may enter Venezuela without a visa for 30 days.
- Holders of diplomatic, official or service Passports of Argentina are not visa-exempt.
