I was just about to start 2023 New Year Honours (New Zealand) but I see that you've beaten me to it.
Hi Nford24, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. Silver Jubilee[edit]
Hi. I was proud to represent my RCT unit in BAOR when our late Queen visited Germany for her Siver Jubilee in 1977. I’m surprised that her day’s visit to the Sennelager Training Area celebration and demonstrations put on for her is not mentioned in the list of her many travels that year. The October drive reduced the backlog from 9,700 to an amazing 0! Congratulations to WaddlesJP13 who led with 2084 points. See this page for further details. The queue is steadily rising again and is approaching 2,000. It would be great if <2,000 were the “new normal”. Please continue to help out even if it's only for a few or even one patrol a day.
- 2022 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2022 cup for 28,302 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 80/day. There was one Gold Award (5000+ reviews), 11 Silver (2000+), 28 Iron (360+) and 39 more for the 100+ barnstar. Rosguill led again for the 4th year by clearing 49,294 redirects. Minimum deletion time: The previous WP:NPP guideline was to wait 15 minutes before tagging for deletion (including draftification and WP:BLAR). Due to complaints, a consensus decided to raise the time to 1 hour. To illustrate this, very new pages in the feed are now highlighted in red. (As always, this is not applicable to attack pages, copyvios, vandalism, etc.)
New draftify script: In response to feedback from AFC, the The Move to Draft script now provides a choice of set messages that also link the creator to a new, friendly explanation page. The script also warns reviewers if the creator is probably still developing the article. The former script is no longer maintained. Please edit your edit your common.js or vector.js file from User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js to User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js
Redirects: Some of our redirect reviewers have reduced their activity and the backlog is up to 9,000+ (two months deep). If you are interested in this distinctly different task and need any help, see this guide, this checklist, and spend some time at WP:RFD.
Discussions with the WMF The PageTriage open letter signed by 444 users is bearing fruit. The Growth Team has assigned some software engineers to work on PageTriage, the software that powers the NewPagesFeed and the Page Curation toolbar. WMF has submitted dozens of patches in the last few weeks to modernize PageTriage's code, which will make it easier to write patches in the future. This work is helpful but is not very visible to the end user. For patches visible to the end user, volunteers such as Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have been writing patches for bug reports and feature requests. The Growth Team also had a video conference with the NPP coordinators to discuss revamping the landing pages that new users see.

Queen's Gallantry Medal[edit]
Although I was very grateful for the Cabinet Office reply to me some years ago that was quoted in the Australian AAT decision in the Farrow case and resulted in an amendment to the Australian Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986, I think they have jumped the gun calling the QGM, the KGM. There is no mention of a KGM in the London Gazette. There does not seem to be a published amendment to the warrant. The most recent awards, gazetted this month, were for the QGM and QCB. It will probably happen later in the year or next year but until there is more than a website amendment, I think the name should be the QGM. Anthony Staunton (talk) 14:54, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

I have been aware of cessation since the 1970s of awards the George Cross to civilians for acts of gallantry within the boundaries of the UK but I had not realised so few other awards are being granted. Copying licensed material requires attribution[edit]
Hi. I see in a recent addition to King Charles III Coronation Medal you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Open Government Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. The article Paul Singer (public servant) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Van Diemen’s Land and Western Australia[edit]
Hi, regarding the status of Van Diemen’s Land and Western Australia, both were distinct colonies established independent of NSW prior to 1830. The position of lieutenant-governor does not in itself necessarily mean that they are subordinate to another governor. Indeed, the status of both colonies is a case in point. The reference to another Wikipedia article which is itself incorrect (as it is clearly based on a poor reading of the references it cites) is inappropriate. I will seek to amend all relevant articles to clear up these points and provide academic citations shortly, as there is ample literature to verify the legal status of the colonies, making their inclusion in the list correct.
