Summary

My edits will consist primarily of creating a new article "How America Was Discovered." In this article I will write a summary of the story, as well as giving some background information of the source from where it can be found. I also plan on adding to the Arthur C. Parker page under the header Career telling of his contribution to documenting tales of Handsome Lake. On the Handsome Lake page I will add an internal link to How America Was Discovered as well as editing the page to tell of the other version of The Code of Handsome Lake. However, I am still unsure of a few things.

Alexisyos, I think you've chosen an excellent focus for your project, and the proposed edits will definitely contribute substantially to Wikipedias coverage of Handsome Lake and his story. I also suggest you conduct some research on the story, to see what other historians or literary critics have to say about it, to add to the article on the story. A few criticisms, however: This information should be posted on your User:Talk page rather than your User Page. This will make it easier for other users to found and respond to your work. Also, your summary contains no internal links to the articles you will be editing. though the story article doesn't exist yet, articles on Parker and Handsome Lake do exist, and should be internally linked here. Always internally link your work to make it easier for other users and readers to follow your work. Finally, you haven't posted potential edits to the Article Talk pages for Parker and Handsome Lake, as required for this assignment. Posting to those pages might solicit help from other users. My instructions for this assignment contained an error. The assignment said to post your summary to your User Page (not your User:Talk page, which is what I intended), so you won't be penalized for posting here (though you should still move your info to your Talk page so other Users can more easily find what you are working on). Thank you for pointing out this mistake. I've adjusted your score in the grade book to reflect this corrected scoring error. Nadinecross78 (talk) 20:37, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
