Oksana Shvets

Created by Thriley (talk), Gerda Arendt (talk) and Grimes2 (talk). Nominated by Gerda Arendt (talk) at 23:23, 23 March 2022 (UTC).

  • Article is new and nominated within 7 days of creation. There is more than 1,500 characters of prose. I assume good faith on sources that are not in English. Inline citations are used properly. Earwig resulted in a 35.9% similarity and stated plagiarism is unlikely. QPQ still needs to be done. Hook doesn't seem to be particularly interesting as someone simply starring in a project is common; I suggest something more specific. lullabying (talk) 03:19, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
The more specific thing would be to say that she was killed by the Russians, which I tried to avoid. Instead, I picked the tv thing, which made her known to a broader audience than the Kyiv stage, and which hints at that there was Russian-Ukrainian collaboration. - I reviewed Template:Did you know nominations/Maria Berlinska --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:19, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
QPQ requirement is satisfied. Hook still needs work. I think you can focus on the Russian-Ukrainian relation if there is one (from your wording, I'm not sure if it's true). This is because someone starring in a production isn't really something notable. If you can emphasize why it's notable, then I think it would make for a good hook. lullabying (talk) 01:57, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
We are in a war, and there was collaboration before. Why would that not be worth mentioning? What we say about her is that she worked for that theatre (article to grow) for 42 years, - the other is extra. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:34, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
Try rewriting your hook and I'll review it. Your reasoning for the first hook was vaguely worded and I think the hook should be explicit about the Russian-Ukrainian collaboration and why that specific collaboration was notable at the time. lullabying (talk) 01:26, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
This is the time, - we don't have to explain what's in the news. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:59, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean. Your hook is implying that she starred in a production, which is not notable. As you wanted to go through the Russian-Ukrainian angle, your hook doesn't imply what is notable about the work or her starring in it in 2013, which was when the production took place. lullabying (talk) 10:19, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
I am sorry, English is not my native tongue. I tried to explain that the key notable fact is her long work at the theatre, - all the rest is extra. We could say that she received this national award, but I prefer to describe her as active, with focus on her, not coproduction. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:35, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
  • ALT1 ... that Oksana Shvets, a Ukrainian actress of the Kyiv National Academic Molodyy Theatre, played in the 2013 Russian-Ukrainian television series House with Lilies together with Russian actors? Grimes2 (talk) 11:08, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
The TV series was in 2013, Euromaidan was 2013–2014. Grimes2 (talk) 17:39, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
Apologies for the lack of subtlety, but I think there is something to be said for being about as subtle as a brick.
