FASHION DESIGNER FOR TOUR

Beyoncé asks British designer Julien Macdonald to make her tour outfits.

"Julien is a huge Beyonce fan so he’s really excited about producing some custom-made, bespoke outfits."

http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/us-gossip/beyonce-asks-julien-macdonald-make-1762207

“There’s nothing better than seeing somebody you admire, or someone who embodies Julien Macdonald,” Julien explained while chatting through his autumn/winter ‘Viva Las Vegas’ collection in his West London studio a few weeks ago, “I like girls like Beyoncé or Kristen Stewart, they are amazing women. Iconic. They are part of a new generation. When she started wearing my clothes it was AMAZING!”

Beyoncé to headline Made In America Festival

Billboard just announced Beyoncé will be headlining Jay-Z's Made In America Festival in Philadelphia. The festival spans from August 31st - September 1st, but it hasn't been announced what day she is headlining yet, however it is likely she will be the finale, closing act on September 1st so I have added that date to the tour dates section. If it turns out she is headlining on the 31st I will change it immediately --Lolcakes25 (talk) 17:17, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

Turns out she is performing on the 31st. Changed it --Lolcakes25 (talk) 11:34, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

Setlist

I'm live updating the set list as we speak so can the person that just removed it and tried to add a table not. Thank you --Lolcakes25 (talk) 19:42, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a fansite, we rely on reliable sources. Got any? If not, it won't be added. Simple.  — Statυs (talk, contribs) 19:45, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

the people at the concert is not a reliable source? lol ok. --Lolcakes25 (talk) 00:03, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

Apparently is not. — Tomíca(T2ME) 08:18, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

The setlist editing is getting annoying. For example why does Diva that contains elements of Clique and Naughty Girl that contains elements of Love To Love You Baby get removed? Also, the source doesn't state Upgrade U on the setlist even though there are clear videos of her performing it, yet apparently it is a "reliable source". Finally the "Diplos express yourself interlude" should be renamed, as the majority of the interlude is just footage from the O2 commercial and I Been On, and a snippet of Express Yourself comes in at the end. --Lolcakes25 (talk) 20:36, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Because everything what you wrote is WP:OR. Find a reliable source saying all that you named upwards and we will add it. Btw, YouTube is not reliable source see WP:YOUTUBE. It's only reliable if the video is from the singer's official channel. — Tomíca(T2ME) 20:39, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
Just to note: "Naughty Girl" always contains elements of "Love to Love You Baby" because it samples it and it is usually more pronounced on live versions. —Jennie | 20:45, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
Also, early indications seem to say that tonight's set list was different to Serbia's, however, it isn't confirmed and I'll find a source that confirms/denies this ASAP. —Jennie | 21:02, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

I'm happy with the new setlist, as she took out Upgrade U on the 2nd show. And ok I understand the Love To Love You Baby is always apart of Naughty Girl. I would just say that Diva does contain elements of Clique, and Single Ladies is mixed with Moving On Up (she actually sings lyrics, not just an instrumental), but I guess we'll have to wait for a source to say that--Lolcakes25 (talk) 10:06, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Well, I don't know what you will do with that, but I was on her concert and:

If I Were a Boy has instrumental of Bitterweet Symphony and SHE SINGS part of lyrics for it.

Countdown and I Was Here are only interludes / videos, she didn't sing them.

Shoolin' Life, Restenement and Survivor wasn't present.

Single Ladies have some lyrics from another song, but I don't know it (probably it's that song that Lolcakes25 says about it. She sings those another song as part of Single Ladies.--Unnami (talk) 16:20, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Album associated with tour.

I wouldn't go ahead and say "4" is the associated album. It was released nearly 2 years ago and all promotion for the album halted last year. She is releasing a new album soon and I think that is the associated album.

You should write "TBA" rather than "4". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.240.24.149 (talk) 21:08, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

The tour features 11 songs from 4. The only reason she didn't get to tour the album earlier was cause of her pregnancy. Also, the artwork for the tour uses the same font as the 4 album tying it to the album. How is the upcoming album the associated album when she performs nothing from it?101.115.183.76 (talk) 09:35, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

-- But she never says it's 4 promo tour. It's just a show that contains all her songs, something like best of tour, and probably when she will release new album, she will change setlist to promote new album. So I am also for TBA --Unnami (talk) 16:22, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Costumes for first night

Beyoncé just put this on her website

"IN HER PERFORMANCE, BEYONCÉ IS SEEN WEARING:

A CUSTOMED GOLD FLESH-TONED ONE PIECE, BY THE BLONDS.

A CUSTOMED HAND-BEADED BLACK LONG-SLEEVED ONE PIECE WITH CAPE, BY GIVENCHY.

A COLBALT BLUE HAND-BEADED JUMPSUIT, BY VRETTOS VRETTAKOS."

When we get more information should costumes/fashion be a new section to the article? --Lolcakes25 (talk) 16:08, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

"The Emilio Pucci label also revealed several sketches by brand Creative Director Peter Dundas of ensembles created specifically for Beyonce and her tour. "Dressing someone like Bey is beyond great," said Dundas in an official statement released by the Pucci fashion house, "She's an incredible mix of beauty, artistry and just pure energy. Discrepancies amongst the set list

Okay, I know there seems to be a bit of a battle going on here, but I think this is principally because of the poor standard of sources that are out there at the moment. Personally, I prefer the more informative version of the set list and I think it should be as comprehensive as possible; normally, I don't think editors would be so guarded about the set list being reliably sourced and presented precisely, as it is non-contentious edition. However, here, I think anyone removing anything un-sourced is completely right to; we just don't know what's exactly going on because so many (usually) news agencies are reporting so many different versions and omitting certain things. I also think a problem lies in the tour starting in non-English language countries; there are probably more accurate reports in the Serbian/Croatian media, but it's a lot harder to access them. For example, the current set list (from Capital FM) omits the performances of "Naughty Girl" and "Resentment", yet we know that these were performed (mainly via YouTube, although unreliably), but also because the DigitalSpy source corroborates this. However, and frustratingly, the DigitalSpy source also says there was a "You Are a Queen" interlude, but I can't find any evidence for this occurring (even unreliably). So I was wondering whether it would be best to use a combination of the two sources, keeping it as simple as possible, and try to be accurate as possible (until a better source comes along). I came up with the following:

  1. 'Run the World (Girls)'
  2. 'End of Time'
  3. 'Flaws and All'
  4. 'Get Me Bodied'
  5. 'Baby Boy'
  6. 'Diva'
  7. 'Naughty Girl'
  8. 'Party'
  9. 'Dance for You'
  10. 'Freakum Dress'
  11. 'I Care'
  12. 'I Miss You'
  13. 'Schoolin Life'
  14. 'Why Don’t You Love Me'
  15. '1+1'
  16. 'Irreplaceable'
  17. 'Resentment'
  18. 'Love on Top'
  19. 'Survivor'
  20. 'Countdown' (Interlude)
  21. 'Crazy In Love'
  22. 'Single Ladies'
  23. 'I Was Here' (Interlude)
  24. 'I Will Always Love You'
  25. 'Halo'

Addressing some earlier claims...

  • She performed "Upgrade U" - I cannot find this anywhere, either reliably or unreliably, and so I would suggest it's false.
  • Naughty Girl contains elements of "Love to Love You Baby" - It does (and heavily) but there isn't a source to confirm this yet.
  • If I Were A Boy contains elements of "Bittersweet Symphony" - It does and the DigitalSpy source says this.
  • Single Ladies contains elements of "Moving On Up" - It does (and heavily) but there isn't a source to confirm this yet.
  • Diva contains elements of "Clique" - I haven't seen this unreliably or reliable yet, so this probably needs a source.

What we really need is a source that states the set list more accurately, hopefully one may turn up soon, but until then we should work with what we've got. —Jennie | 21:05, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

I have no problem with that until we get a more reliable source. I will just say the setlist above doesn't even contain If I Were A Boy (the normal version, even without Bittersweet Symphony)

Also, I know you haven't included it but to other people, is the names of the video interludes or the inclusion of video interludes even necessary? --Lolcakes25 (talk) 11:15, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

I'd say so, as a set list generally reflects the songs performed, the two video interludes were played on the TV screens and were not sung or danced to, so to include it as this would be misleading. You're right about "Bittersweet Symphony", I forgot and will add it in. Thanks! —Jennie | 11:50, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

she performed Standing on the Sun in Atwerp http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bVCMg2O7PuU it's last show of european leg, she now has one month break and U.S. Leg will start — Preceding unsigned comment added by Unnami (talkcontribs) 23:50, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

I wanted to give them a special remembrance of this tour and I created this scent to reflect the power, passion and playfulness I put into my performances." - Beyoncé

Critical reception

http://grmdaily.com/live-review-beyonce-london-02-arena-mrs-carter-tour/

"Special mention must also go to her all girl band and vocalist group The Mama’s giving some of that old school feel to the Prince-sounding bonus cut ‘Schoolin’ Life’. And the crazy ass genius French twin dancers, imaginatively titled…Les Twinz, were on point as usual with their mind-blowing tricks and getting up close and personal with Mrs Carter."

"The Mrs Carter Show was quite simply one of the most complete concerts I have been to; perfection in pretty much every aspect and serves as a testament to Beyonce’s status as one of the best performers of our time. (...) Something that always afflicts the greats and then before you know it, they’re on their decline. I was scratching my head at why people were losing their minds over getting tickets to a Beyonce show. But to paraphrase her husband, Mr Sean Carter, she would probably answer the critics like this: ‘I think I have to send you a reminder’. She’s in her prime and this show was certainly a reminder. Long live King Bey." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.168.174.116 (talk) 21:27, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

New teaser.

A second trailer for the tour was released on June 24, 2013, designed to promote the newly added Latin American and second North American leg of the tour at the time. The 30 second clip contains live vocals of Knowles' song "Get Me Bodied" and a dubstep audio mix. It also shows footage from the previously shot O2 commercial (for UK customers wishing to get pre-sale tickets for the tour), as well as multiple snippets of live performances from the show in Antwerp on May 31, 2013.

During the concert in Nashville on July 13, 2013, Knowles requested a moment of silence from the crowd, following the verdict of the trial of the Shooting of Trayvon Martin, resulting in George Zimmerman being acquitted. After the silence, Knowles went into the finale of the show, singing "I Will Always Love You" and "Halo".

This moment of silence is premeditated, isn´t an incident! This should be on Notes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.168.178.201 (talk) 20:51, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

Notes: Beyoncé sing new song (July 20, 2013 Auburn Hills )

Beyoncé Dedicates "A Change Is Gonna Come" to Detroit

the singer covered Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come”, dedicating it to the city, which filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection last week. As she performed, the screen behind her displayed photos of Detroit landmarks and icons including Aretha Franklin, Aaliyah, Eminem, Anita Baker, Kid Rock, and Berry Gordy, Jr. The montage ended with the declaration “Nothing Stops Detroit!” “This was a unique tribute to the history of an incredible city and a celebration of the strong spirit of its people,” Bey’s spokesperson told Billboard.
