Common Nicknames[edit]

I removed the following from the body of the article, as the corresponding reference in the article on Paul Molitor has also been deleted. I was unable to find any outside references to this. Since there are no other nicknames, I also removed the entire subheading for the time being.

==Common Nicknames==
- Miller lite is commonly known by the following nicknames:
- * Paul Molitor

I am also copying existing comments about nicknames into this section. Jzerocsk 15:33, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"This is also the beer that you see drank in WWE. It is always the beer that Stone Cold Steve Austin drinks." —Why is this in this article at all? Millions of people drink Miller Lite; why is this person specifically mentioned? Hulk Hogan drinks it too, BROTHER!!

Not to mention there is an infamous incident where a Coors Light truck is involved.--Attitude2000 19:55, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Colorful nicknames: the nickname of "nick lachey" or "nicks" should also be included as many young people who enjoy miller lite recognize that it is the choice beer of nick lachey, and in his reality show career is always shown drinking one, hence the beer is often referred to as it's famous patron's name. i feel very strngly about this nickname's inclusion. ask anyone, they will say the same thing.

I disagree--E tac (talk) 12:41, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

COI and Wiki scanner[edit]

By using the Wiki scanner tool, I have found that the Miller Brewing Company IP addresses have made substantial COI edits of blatantly POV nature to the article. Thus, I reverted to a version before such edits. Please forgive any inconvenience this may have caused, but the neutrality and factual accuracy of Wikipedia is at stake with these compromising edits. VanTucky Talk 04:42, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This link provides the list of IPs registered to the company. VanTucky Talk 04:44, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What blatant POV edits? I just looked at the difference betweeen the one you reverted to and the current article, and absolutely nothing struck me as POV in the least. I've re-reverted, because the previous version was better, and there's no reason to reject good edits merely because they came from company employees. Anything blatantly POV seems to have already been taken care of by the Wiki process before you got here. FCYTravis 13:21, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy[edit]

I would like to add the information from the following link to the article as it is interesting and relevant, but I wouldn't even know where to start. Perhaps a more experienced editor could please help? http://news.yahoo.com/s/uc/20071012/cm_uc_crbbox/op_234073;_ylt=ApH8AF.IiRtRb0lqwvSTH0Ws0NUE —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.123.158.30 (talk) 21:38, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1st Bar to test market or serve Miller Lite[edit]

Does anyone know where the first bar was to serve or test market Miller Lite. I was told it was a small bar in Springfield Ilinois. Dusty Duck

Pale lager?[edit]

Isn't Miller Lite a pilsner? It's suggested on the packaging, at least... SweetNightmares (talk) 04:47, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Drink a REAL pilsner and get back to us on that. 152.1.52.179 (talk) 01:58, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gablinger's[edit]

I lived in Manhattan in 1967, and remember seeing ads for Gablinger's beer -- which was advertised as a low-carbohydrate product. Miller was a much-larger company, of course, but it was not the first to sell this sort of product. WilliamSommerwerck (talk) 21:01, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Shel Silverstein's satire on the shooting of a beer commercial "Great taste" / "Less fillin'"[edit]

In 1995 Bob Gibson recorded Shel Silverstein's beer commercial satire "makin' a mess of commercial success" about the shooting of a beer commercial in Key West. Although the two protagonists just have to drink beer and say two lines ("Great taste", "Less fillin'") the shooting ends in a disaster. You can listen to the great song on Bob Gibson's CD "makin' a mess of commercial success. Bob Gibson sings Shel Silverstein". Enjoy it! --Popmuseum (talk) 10:00, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics of "Making a mess (of commercial success)": "They were makin' some kind of commercial / 'Bout the beer we like here in Key West / And all we had to do was go sit on a stool / and do what we really do best. [...] They said. boys now just try to act thirsty / and sit right down here at the bar / and just try to pretend that you're out on a bender / I said, buddy we're with you so far / They gave me the line "It's less fillin'" and Jack got the line "great taste" / and they yelled 'rehearsal' and we started actin' / with beer foam all over our face [...]" --Popmuseum (talk) 10:28, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
