Social media manager for Kickboxer Vengeance needs permission to edit the official Wikipedia page for the film. This wikpedia contains inaccurate information. Below are edits that need to be made:

Please REMOVE THIS: Kickboxer: Vengeance is an upcoming American martial arts film directed by John Stockwell, and starring Alain Moussi, Jean-Claude Van Damme (who played Kurt Sloane in the original Kickboxer), Dave Bautista, Gina Carano, Georges St-Pierre and Darren Shahlavi (in his final film role). It is the sixth installment of the Kickboxer series, and a remake of the original 1989 Kickboxer film, serving as a reboot of the franchise.

AND CHANGE IT TO THIS : Kickboxer: Vengeance is reboot of the 1989 classic, Kickboxer, that launched Jean Claude Van Damme to international superstardom. This film is directed by John Stockwell, and stars Alain Moussi, Jean-Claude Van Damme (who played Kurt Sloane in the original Kickboxer), Dave Bautista, Gina Carano, Georges St-Pierre, Sara Malakul and features Darren Shahlavi (in his final film role).

PLEASE REMOVE THIS: The film follows Eric and Kurt Sloan, the descendants of a California dynasty of champions. After Eric wins the Karate World Championship, a promoter lures him to Hong Kong despite his brother’s protests. When Eric dies, Kurt turns to his former mentor Master Durand[2] to seek revenge on the vicious Tong Po.

AND CHANGE TO Eric and Kurt Sloane are the descendants of a well-known Venice, California-based family of martial artists. Kurt has always been in older brother, Eric's shadow, as he lacks the instincts needed to become a champion. Against Kurt's concerns, Eric accepts a paid offer and travels to Thailand to challenge the Muay Thai champion Tong Po and fails with dire consequences. Kurt sets out for revenge. He trains with his brother's mentor, Master Durand, for a Muay Thai fight against the merciless champion, Tong Po. Durand first thinks Kurt is impossible to train, but through a series of spiritual exercises and tests, Durand discovers that Kurt has a deeper strength that will carry him through his final showdown with Tong Po. Not done: The lead sentence follows a typical structure that is accepted on Wikipedia. I do not see any inaccurate information between the current version and your version, simply a different format. As for your rewrite of the synopsis, it feels very market-y to me and doesn't focus on relaying the story so much as using marketing/flowery speech. -- ferret (talk) 23:37, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone please edit this information please? Ferret, we will try to cooperate but this is NOT correct information for the movie... this film is NOT the sixth installment of the series. Any other releases of "Kickboxer" were not officially affiliated with the original film. PLEASE remove this, it is not factual. If Wikipedia would like consistency with articles, please change

Flowery, your comment on the synopsis is also incorrect and very biased. Is is not marketing wording, is the synopsis directly off the official kickboxervengeance.com website which I listed as a reference. Once again, please change

When Eric dies, Kurt turns to his former mentor Master Durand[2] to seek revenge on the vicious Tong Po.

Wikipedia contains several detailed plots for many movies. This is the official basic synopsis for this film pulled directly from the website's about page. All of our requested edits were very neutral and fact-based comments that are at the request of the director, executive producer, and other interest parties in this film. We would like nothing more than to have this information presented accurately about the film that provides information to the general public. The current version also contains a significant spoiler that the director and producer are very upset about. I understand other pages contain full plot synopsis but not before release of a film.

Last note, can someone please list the official website for the film under the external links? It is kickboxervengeance.com. Thank you.

Partly done: Wikipedia's definition of a film series and an installment are looser than the definition you're using. There is no doubt that this is a Kickboxer film, and the sixth one in total. When we use "film series" and installment, we do not mean a chronological series of films with the same story line, only that they are related films. As for the plot, the fact that it contains a spoiler that upsets the director is irrelevant. Per WP:SPOIL, Wikipedia does not hide or warn about spoilers in plots, and as long as a source is available, will not remove spoilers. In this case, a source is available.
Additionally, we cannot use the text from the official site due to concerns of copyright violation. Read WP:COPYVIO for more information. If you can provide an updated version of the synopsis written solely for Wikipedia, that is not taken directly from the site, I can use it. You will need to include the details and sources already in use, including the spoiler.
As for the external link, I have added it. -- ferret (talk) 01:04, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Social media manager for Kickboxer Vengeance needs permission to edit the official Wikipedia page for the film. This wikpedia contains inaccurate information. Below are edits that need to be made:

Requests to edit this page from the producers and managers of Kickboxer Vengeance have asked several times to make edits to this Wikipedia article already.

ARTICLE Please change Kickboxer: Vengeance is an upcoming American martial arts film directed by John Stockwell, and starring Alain Moussi, Jean-Claude Van Damme (who played Kurt Sloane in the original Kickboxer), Dave Bautista, Gina Carano, Georges St-Pierre and Darren Shahlavi (in his final film role). It is the sixth installment of the Kickboxer series, and a remake of the original 1989 Kickboxer film, serving as a reboot of the franchise.

It is a reboot of the original 1989 Kickboxer film.

This is again NOT the sixth film in the series. Other films were not considered part of the original kickboxer legacy. Furthermore there are other film articles on Wikipedia that do not include past films of the same name as "part of the series". This information is hugely incorrect. We will add referenceable information on the official website if needed to specify that this is not part of any of the other kickboxer films besides the original.

CAST Please add Gina Carano's character name as Marcia per the cast list on the official website. Please change Gina Carnano

to

Ginao Carano as Marcia [1]

SYNOPSIS please change The film follows Eric and Kurt Sloan, the descendants of a California dynasty of champions. After Eric wins the Karate World Championship, a promoter lures him to Hong Kong despite his brother’s protests. When Eric dies, Kurt turns to his former mentor Master Durand to seek revenge on the vicious Tong Po.

to Living in Venice, California, Eric and Kurt Sloane come from a long line of martial artists. Kurt lacks the drive to become a champion and is complacent being in his older brothers shadow. Eric takes on an opportunity he can't refuse and flies to Thailand to fight the Muay Thai champion, Tong Po and loses everything. Empowered with revenge, Kurt seeks a way to fight Tong Po. He is introduced to Master Durand, Eric's former trainer who is reluctant to train another Sloane but eventually sees something in Kurt and trains him for a no bars held bout with the merciless Tong Po. [2]

Notes: The information on the wikipedia page is incorrect. The plot has nothing to do with Hong Kong and no parts of the film where ever made in Hong Kong whatsoever. This is rewritten plot to not violate text based off of the official Kickboxer website, which should be the official source of information for the movie but looks like it was removed. Also regardless of "copyright" terms the film studio and producer give Wikipedia full permission to use any text and materials off of the website for the Wikipedia article.

The website is supposed to honor accurate and honest information, but this article contains several incorrect pieces and is referencing news articles and websites with unofficial text. All official materials should come from the official website kickboxervengeance.com. We are looking into adding a news/media section to reference more accurate material from the producers off of. Thank you.

Partly done: I have updated the Cast as requested. I have partially updated the synopsis with new texts and sources. It appears to be accurate now, without peacock language. As noted before, we will not remove the "spoiler" about Eric dying, as it has multiple sources.
I have not changed the lead, for the same reasons as before. -- ferret (talk) 20:46, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Box Office?[edit]

Budget $17 million, Box office $287,779. Really?--Wikiseidank (talk) 12:18, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not convinced that AlloCiné is a reliable source for Budget figures, but I did check to see if maybe they were copying whatever IMDB was saying but IMDB claims the budget was $10 million.
The film got barely any theatrical releases which is why the box office figures are abysmally low. The-Numbers.com indicates it earned at least a few million on home media -- 109.78.219.163 (talk) 04:03, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
