7-day average lines

Should we include 7-day average line for active cases and new cases to somehow average out the peaks and troughs? You can check the article for India and USA.

@Thibault38: Good idea! I was planning to do just that. However, I am struggling a lot with keeping the data updated, maybe you can help. I also invite @Allenjambalaya: to cite some of their opinions. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 13:11, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
I've created the data in my local spreadsheet file. I'll add them tomorrow if no one opposes. As for the formula, for the 7-day average new cases for today (14 September 2020), we will add all new cases from 8 September to 14 September then divide it by 7. @Thibault38: Maybe we should work on a sandbox first before implementing this change. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 06:22, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
@HueMan1: I'm relatively new to using my sandbox but I created the page and you could check it. Not sure about the color of the line. Thibault38 (talk) 12:57, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
@HueMan1: I'm okay with the idea for as long as it's easy to encode. I will still keep my own spreadsheet for the daily cases.—Allenjambalaya (talk) 11:10, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

This draftspace needs some help. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 11:31, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Issue of charts

@Thibault38: Apparently, Wikipedia has template limits. The main article for the COVID-19 pandemic had dealt with the same issue before (see Talk:COVID-19 pandemic/Archive 30#Dealing with technical limitations of WP:PEIS). I wonder how are we going to resolve this issue. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 01:00, 17 April 2021 (UTC)

@HueMan1: I haven't read the whole article yet, I just skimmed through the information. We could reduce the sampling rate from daily to weekly. This will reduce the data. This will also remove the necessity for the 7-day averages. We could also transfer the chart to a new page. What do you think? Thibault38 (talk) 08:57, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
@Thibault38: I guess that's our best option for now. I am not considering to make a new article for the statistics though, as I find this quite preposterous. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 08:16, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
@HueMan1: You could check my sandbox for the sample graphs if we implement the weekly update of the charts. Thibault38 (talk) 11:23, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
@Thibault38: Great work! I think these would look better in bar graphs. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 12:05, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
@HueMan1: I updated my sandbox based on your feedback. Bar graphs do not work well with x-axis dates. Or maybe I missed something with the parameters. Please feel free to edit the graph. Thibault38 (talk) 15:29, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
@HueMan1: Maybe one quick solution to decrease the size is to remove the 7-day averages on the graphs. Thibault38 (talk) 13:40, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

@Thibault38: I guess we'll go with a weekly cumulative chart in the main article. We could make more charts in a separate article if you want to. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 15:01, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

@Thibault38: Thank you for trimming those templates again but I do have some suggestions if you don't mind. I think the last chart would look even better if it was a cumulative chart. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 11:42, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
@HueMan1: You mean the cumulative chart in my sandbox? I totally missed it when I was updating my spreadsheet. Sorry about that. I will include it in my next update. I think might change how I will group the days of the week since due to the changes in how they report the recovered patients, there will be a very high spike the numbers this week.
