Welcome to Wiki Loves Love 2019!

Wiki Loves Love (WLL) is an international contest organized by Wikimedia community to document love testimonials in various cultures and regions of the world. As it is a multilingual contest, the main contest page is on Meta: m:Wiki Loves Love 2019

Concept[edit]

The basic aim of this project is to document love testimonials through human cultural diversity – such as festivals, ceremonies, gestures and other symbols of love – to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia and improve content on Wikipedia on the same theme.

Theme[edit]

The theme of 2019 is festivals and ceremonies of love, with a special focus in reducing the gender gap.

  • 1 February, 2019 - 31 March, 2019
  • Deadline: March 31, 2019 23:59 UTC.

Rules[edit]

  1. The article should be submitted with Wiki Loves Love 2019 in edit summary.
  2. The article should have minimum 3000 bytes and 200 words.
  3. The article should not be machine translated.
  4. The article should be expanded or created between 1 February and 31 March.
  5. The article should be within theme festivals and ceremonies of love, with a special focus on feminism and gender added to this first main theme.
  6. There should be no copyright violations and notability issues and article should have proper references as per Wikipedia policies.
  7. For each participant creating 5 articles, an online certificate of participation in Wiki Loves Love Edit-a-thon will be sent by International team.
