Assignment - Translation Option

For those of you who have fluency in a second language, you may wish to translate an article from English into your second language of fluency. If you wish to do so, please take the above training module and be advised of the following:

  • Each language Wikipedia has its own community and sets of norms and policies. What may be acceptable on English Wikipedia may not be acceptable on a different language Wikipedia. Be sure to learn the basic rules of your chosen language Wikipedia.
  • The training modules on this page only apply to the English Wikipedia.
  • When you translate, be sure that sources are reliable, independent, and verifiable.
  • Be sure that the article you wish to translate either does not exist on the other language Wikipedia or is underdeveloped.
  • Remember that translation is not just an act of transcribing words, but involves cultural considerations as well. Consider why certain topics might be underdeveloped or missing in other language Wikipedias or why the same might be true of the English Wikipedia.
Assignment - Review the rules for health topics
Assignment - Choose possible topics
