BMW E90

The BMW E90 article is starting to trip over itself with too much data, that is often not country specific.

• The article is called BMW E90, yet first sight of the picture box shows the heading at the top of the article E90/E91/E92 - if this is an 'E90 page' the others should be on their own page.
  • It is recent practice by BMW to move the different body styles into different numbers. For example, in the last generation 3-series, E46 means all versions, including coupe, sedan, wagon and convertible. But since this current generation of BMW (3,5,6,7 series), the company has decided to assign sequential numbers to different styles. I do not think separating the styles is necessary (despite different numbers, the cars share many similarities). Maybe the title should be changed to E90/91/92)
• The heading E90/91/92 suggests that this heading covers just the one four-door car in the picture.
• Then the old E46 links to its own page and there's another 3-Series article.
• Some vehicles (coupes) are still available in the old body style (pre 2005 version), so the range is not consistent, and as it's a global brand, models are phased in worldwide and locally.
• References to the new 328 engine are WRONG. The UK customer helpline team say there is no 328 engine. As stated in talk pages relevant to this article, BMW ditched the 328 engine for a more powerful 330 engine in 2000, that is also less noisy and more efficient.
• Heading: Future Variants - Surely an article about the BMW E90 should start off with what's known about the current models - the article has been edited so many times it's now upside down
• "Future variants will be available September 2006." True for the USA and UK but not for the rest of the world.
• Is it really the case that this article only consists of three sections? Future Variations, Engine Options and External Links.
• "The M3 is said to have...", said by whom? All the speculative stuff should be way down the page so we can read about what we already know to be fact.--Escaper7 12:16, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Clean up: October 2006

Still very hard to make sense of this article. Lots of detailed information that all applies differently according to which country the car is marketed.

The E91 and other variants can be included, but the huge infoboxes have to go. THE MAIN PROBLEM with this article is the sheer level of detail to which it goes. Everything else stems from there: the article is unfocussed, the layout is poor, the "flow" of the prose is almost non-existent, it is visually unappealing, etc. etc. This can all be fixed with a good rewrite, and an article on such an important and iconic global car should be able to rise to the level of featured article status.
