Speedy deletion of "NGO TV"[edit]

A page you created, NGO TV, has been tagged for deletion in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:

No indication of importance/significance. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, organisation, or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. Thank you Prashanthns (talk) 20:43, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

speedy deletion...[edit]

I saw you recently had several articles you started nominated for speedy deletion, and that the justification offered was "insufficient context". One of the nominators recently nominated an article I recently started for speedy deletion for the same reason.

We are all volunteers here. I was very unhappy with the way this particular volunteer performed their volunteer quality control inspections.

In the case of the article I started they applied an obviously inappropriate tag.

They applied the speedy deletion tag just one minute after it was created -- which does not comply with the wikipedia's deletion policies.

And they proved unwilling to consider the possibility they may have made a mistake.

Since then I have seen from their User pages that they are a teenager (born in the 1990s the page says...). I don't have a problem with that. I don't have a problem with interacting with a teenager, even a very young teenager, as an equal -- provided they are willing to assume adult responsibilities.

Anyhow, if you want to ask the deleting administrator(s) to get articles you started "userified", drop me a line, and I will take a look at them, and let you know if there are hints I can offer that would help them survive a Wikipedia: deletion review.

Speedy deletion of NGO TV[edit]

A tag has been placed on NGO TV, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Notability of Joe Drumgoole[edit]

A tag has been placed on Joe Drumgoole requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 15:30, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability and References[edit]

Hi. I see that a lot of articles you have input are being nominated for deletion. It would be worth your while to read the guideline on Notability, and the more detailed ones on Notability (people) and Notability (organizations and companies) to understand Wikipedia's entry criteria; also the guidelines on the need for verifiability from independent, reliable sources. RTE Radio 1 Extra and RTE Europe move...[edit]

I haven't heard that one channel replaced the other. Have you got any sources that confirm this? howth575 (talk) 14:47, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article WRC on Dave has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article containing no information beyond what a TV Guide would give, there is little notability about the Rally highlights coverage on Dave anyway.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. QueenCake (talk) 20:25, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
