"Refresh rate" vs. "clock frequency" on computer architecture[edit]
This edit changed "clock speed" to "refresh rate" and "clock cycle" to "refresh"; a subsequent edit by the same editor had a comment that said "Finished up "dumbing down" the page.".
I guess the idea was that the editor deemed "clock speed" too technical for the masses; unfortunately, the only "refresh rates" that come to my mind in the context of computers are 1) screen refresh rates for CRTs and 2) memory refresh rates for DRAM, neither of which are what was being talked about here.
So going back to speaking of clocks and clock frequency, as you did, was the right thing to do. "cycle" links to clock rate, so that should be sufficient for readers not familiar with the notion of a CPU clock. Guy Harris (talk) 21:42, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
