Limerick city (including extended boundary)[edit]

I have nominated Limerick city (including extended boundary) for deletion; before creating an article it is worth considering if the article name is common enough for someone to find it or will they type something simplier, see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (common names). I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: Taoiseach is the title of the head of the government of Ireland, and use that title as a username apperars to breach WP:USERNAME#Inappropriate_username, which covers "Misleading usernames: imply misleading things about the contributor. For example, misleading points of fact, an impression of undue authority, or the suggestion that the account is operated by a group, project or collective rather than one individual".. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

Category hierarchy[edit]

Hi. A quick note on categories. Categories tend to be largely hierarchical. This means that (for example) the "TV programs" category may have a sub-category called "Irish TV programs". If "The Late Late Show" is a member of "TV programs in Ireland", then there is no real need to also add it to "TV programs". Because it is ALREADY a member by virtue of inheritance from the parent category. Or, to put it in another way, this is perfectly fine:

 Category:TV Programs
   -> Category:TV Programs in the English language
      -> The Late Late Show
   -> Category:TV Programs in Ireland
      -> The Late Late Show

But this is somewhat redundant:

 Category:TV Programs
   -> The Late Late Show
   -> Category:TV Programs in the English language
      -> The Late Late Show
   -> Category:TV Programs in Ireland
      -> The Late Late Show

I point this out because you recently added certain programs to several categories. When they were already members of the relevant child-categories. This isn't really necessary, and can lead to over-categorisation. Guliolopez (talk) 14:51, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing[edit]

I have been following your recent edits and attempting to fix the references re the Gaelic speaking numbers. Referencing can be tricky but please:

put ref tags around the reference thus <ref>The reference info</ref>
put the web address, title of the article, publisher and date of retrieval per my edit here
place this immediately after the text that's being referenced rather than elsewhere in the article.

Hiya. Me again. I notice that you read and removed my previous comment on the same topic, but I was wondering if you'd had a chance to think about my suggestion? Of using prose over lists and adding context/relevance instead of just listing stuff? I ask because I notice that you've added more "list data" to the Economy of Ireland article - and I wonder if it's well placed. (I am not certain that a typical reader will gather from the "table" what relevance or selection criteria are applied to the list of "business parks"?) To answer your question look at IBMs entry,Silicon docks 3000 yet "workforce of over 3,000 employees working across a broad range of businesses and locations including: IBM Ireland, which has nationwide responsibilities for delivering sales, marketing and services across the Irish market; the company's Technology Campus in Mulhuddart", my emphasis, but you see Mulhuddart aint in the city centre, so with an accurate source for EACH entry the list is not a benefit to the article.
