Anchor in Bush article[edit]

The point is that there is an article on Wikipedia (referenced from the Signpost) that contains this passage with a link going into the Bush article: And Wikipedia also has an entire subsection titled <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush#Alcohol_and_drug_abuse">Alcohol and drug abuse</a> for Bush, something Encarta doesn’t mention at all in its lengthy four-page entry. But because of a recent edit to the section title this is now broken. I was trying to make it work again without changing the section title. LambiamTalk 09:03, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for help against vandal[edit]

Thanks for your help. Vandal 213.173.236.66 has now been warned. I wasn't quite sure which template to use considering that he/she/it has vandalised several times, so I used {{blatantvandal}}. How does an anonymous user see the talk page, and so see the warning? Tamino 09:05, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thanks. Tamino 09:10, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Licinius[edit]

There's currently a proposal under discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Community ban for Licinius to unblock Licinius' IP to allow him to reform himself under a new account. As one of his victims, you might like to comment. Snottygobble 00:39, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any Idea of how...[edit]

Do have any Idea of how to create a menu such as this one, but using the encoding {{User:Booksworm/mainmenu}}? Here is the example: {|width=100% |- | width=25% rowspan=2 valign="top" |{{User:Buchanan-Hermit/mainmenu}} | |}

Thanks very much!!![edit]

Hello there. Thank you very much for helping me with the image problem. I appreciate it very much. Cracker017 06:17, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for guiding a newcomer[edit]

Thanks for your guidance; I didn't know what to do -- and, having gone to so much trouble to write the additions to the article, I really wasn't sure if I wanted to make any further contributions. So "Thanks" for the guidance, and I will be making further contributions, thanks to you. cogtrue 05:11, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3[edit]

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!
  1. Posting logs of the Esperanza IRC channel are explicitly banned anywhere. Violation of this rule results in deletion and a ban from the channel.
  2. A disclaimer is going to be added to the Esperanza main page. We are humans and, as such, are imperfect.
  3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.
  4. Referendums are to be held on whether terms of AC members should be lengthened and whether we should abolish votes full stop.
  5. Admin Coaching reform is agreed upon.

Deny recognition poll[edit]

(Note that this is a form notification.)

Hello Tangotango. Since you commented on the Deny recognition proposal, this is to notify you that a formal poll has been opened concerning it. If it is accepted, it will be be used as a launching pad to amend other policies such as the deletion policy; that page itself will be marked as historical, not policy. Feel free to reread the proposal and place your vote. // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 07:21, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is it ok if I move Takamatsu Station to Takamatsu Station (Kagawa)? According to the List of Railway Stations in Japan/T, there are Takamatsu Stations in Tokyo and Ishikawa. I'll create a DAB there, like the other stations. Neier 13:11, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed your warning (and mine) since there were already 2 warnings for the 2 vandalisms to that particular article. It's getting so you just can't find a good piece of vandalism to revert these days! Rich Farmbrough 08:26 15 May 2006 (UTC).

Further to: Thanks for your offer of help / what to do now?[edit]

Esperanza, I trust you'll be patient. I'm not sure how to engage you in a dialogue: on your User talk page, or mine? Deborahjay 15:27, 15 May 2006 (UTC) Deborahjay[reply]

I evidently don't understand how best to add a new element in an ongoing Talk dialogue, but I'll try here like this in hopes you'll read it when you return:

I did list myself as a Translator in my language pair/direction (Hebrew>English), and updated a particular request for a pending translation to show it's "in progress."
I'll open a new request for help on my User talk page, with my particular questions.
Now a personal response to you: Yours is the first individual user page I've seen, and I find it most encouraging. Thanks for your admirable efforts on behalf of others and the Wikipedia community. You seem to project a welcoming and kind attitude, and I greatly appreciate that! (Also, greetings to a fellow translator! :-) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Deborahjay (talkcontribs) 15:49, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Fast Response[edit]

Wooow. Fast response to my request for help, and a clear, concise answer. Thank you much. HubHikari 15:41, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Tango![edit]

Tango--

Theoretically speaking, if I were to self-nominate for adminship, how well do you think I would fare in the crucible, based on the number and quality of my edits and interactions? Please respond on my talk page. Thanks a bunch, HubHikari 16:26, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from My favorite, which you proposed for deletion, because I feel that this article should not be deleted from Wikipedia. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still feel the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article, as Proposed deletion is only for non-controversial deletions. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Mangojuicetalk 01:51, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Userpage vandalism[edit]

You're very welcome. And as for my RfA, I'm actually still getting over the shock of the tallies... this was NOT what I expected. At all. :) --→Buchanan-Hermit™..Talk to Big Brother 07:37, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Error[edit]

I tried to run the tool on Xoloz's ongoing RFA & it gives the following error: ERROR: 1 sections found!. Please check it out.

Thanks

Srikeit(talk ¦ ) 16:57, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also just looked at the analysis of NoSeptemeber's RFA & the 14th vote says "[Signature not found]". I guess this is because the 14th votes King of all Franks simply signed his name. Srikeit(talk ¦ ) 17:07, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also in JoshuaZ's RFA [1] it shows that PseudoSudo has voted both Support & Neutral but what happened is when Connel Mackenzie changed his vote from Oppose to Neutral, PseudoSudo copied the vote to the Neutral section & added his sig to the end saying "copied from above". The tool does not register Connel Mackenzie's vote. Srikeit(talk ¦ ) 00:32, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your feedback, but, after thinking about it, I choose to withdraw from the candidacy. I will try to address your points in the future. Hurricanehink (talk) 16:25, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, and you are right. I don't take anything personally, and I'm humbled by your kind words. I love to edit around here, and I hope I can remain as valuable as an asset as I have been. Yea, I'll try to do some more Wikipedia edits. Hurricanehink (talk) 17:10, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA[edit]

Thank you, Tangotango, for voting in my RFA. It closed with a final result of 75/1/0. Now that I am an administrator here, I will continue to improve this encyclopedia, using my new tools to revert vandalism, block persistent vandals, protect pages that have been vandalized intensively, and close AFD discussions. Any questions? Please contact me by adding a new section on my talk page. Again, thanks to all of you who participated!!! -- King of 23:11, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for voting for my recent RfA, which passed (to my extreme surprise and shock) with a total tally of 66/15/2. For that, I would like to thank you and offer a helping hand in any admin-related tasks that may be required -- it's as simple as leaving a message on my talkpage. Hi, there! I saw that you've contributed to the Yellowcard page. I've been working hard all weekend to get it into an encyclopedia-worthy article, and I think we're almost there!

There's a short list of things that still need some work at the bottom of the talk page. If you could take a look at it, maybe add more things to do, or clean up whatever you see needs work, I would sure appreciate it.

Thanks for your help. Have an awesome day! Cathryn 10:04, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

File:Atlanticpuffin4.jpg Hello Tangotango. Thank you for your support at request for adminship which ended at the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0), and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. If you need any admin assistance, feel free to ask me, and naturally, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out and I look forward to working with you in the future, as well as your future RfA. Re:Help[edit]

Oh sorry, you already have some userboxes :) as for the boxes on Sango123's page, I suggest you just steal (borrow) the code off the page and customize it to your own needs and desires. - Tangotango 18:02, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

I have tried that but I have failed miserably. I am not sure what I have done wrong to edit that but it just shows up as red links.
