Reassessing good articles[edit]

Hey SuperPayara123. I reverted your edits to Talk:Oscar (fish) (& the associated GA list). Unlike the majority of assessment levels (B, C, Start, etc.), good articles and featured articles have a specific process for promotion and reassessment. If you feel that Oscar (fish) is no longer up to the good article criteria you can reassess it via that process. Basically this involved making an argument as to why you feel it no longer meets the criteria and other editors will work to correct those deficiencies or agree with you and after a period of time the article will be reassessed. Welcome to Wikipedia. In looking over your contribution history, I have noticed that a large number of your edits have been to remove references from articles. Please carefully read Wikipedia:Citing sources and understand that some references can be listed as footnotes in articles. Not all editors are familiar and comfortable with the syntax of inline citations, and listing the source of the material at the bottom of the article is an acceptable alternative. When you go through the articles and remove the references, you are creating a great deal of work for other editors to clean up after you. I have started going through and reverting your changes, but there is just too much to deal with. So when and if you return from your stated wikibreak, please help us out and restore those changes! Hi SuperPayara. I'm sorry you are feeling discouraged, perhaps because of this thread on WikiProject Fishes. Sometimes Wikipedia can be a lonely place, and it is easy to feel unappreciated. I want you to know that I appreciate the articles you have written. You have made an excellent and professional start. When other editors comment on your work, as they did in the thread I just mentioned, you should feel free to reply and say exactly what you think (in a polite way of course). I don't think anyone is really criticising your work. It's just there is some confusion about why you are removing FishBase links. You need to leave a note in the edit summary or on the talk page of the article when you remove otherwise reliable sources like FishBase. That will stop the rest of us being confused. I hope your enthusiasm for editing has not been damaged, and you will, when you feel ready, rejoin WikiProject Fishes (which needs you!).
