Why I reverted your edit

Since you're new to wikipedia, I thought I'd explain in more detail why I reverted your change to Creation-evolution controversy. Your edit did not reflect the content of the citations for the summary. Wikipedia requires reliable sources for all statements. I'm sorry, I don't think you are correct.

You seem to be misinformed. There are literally tons of evidence for evolution; I'd advise you to take a look at this article for a general overview. Moreover, you seem to misunderstand the meaning of the word "theory." In science, the term does not mean "speculation", but rather a cohesive branch of study with shared data, facts, laws, experimental procedures, and terminology. The reason there is a controversy, is, in fact, covered in quite a bit of detail in the creation-evolution controversy article. None of that reason is any sort of scientific doubt about evolution. From a scientific perspective, there is an enormous preponderance of evidence endorsing evolution, and from your comments on my talk page, I think you are not aware of that evidence.

Asside from all that, wikipedia is an encyclopedia, which is a organization and summary of human knolwedge. That means we document what reliable sources say about things, irrespective of what editors believe to be true. I reverted your change, not because I belived it to be false, but because it was not in line with what the sources we currently have say. You are, of course, free to challenge those sources, or find sources you think are more accurate, more reliable, and more appropriate. i kan reed (talk) 16:59, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
