Category:Dams by river[edit]

Hey Shyamsunder, I noticed you made Category:Dams by river and populated it with four similar sub-categories. I feel this may be a case of over-categorization. Many rivers have their own category, like Category:Mahanadi River, so a sub-category for dams on the river usually isn't necessary as the few there are can just fit under the category for the river. If a single river had 30 or so dams on it, I could see a separate category. Before we go all out with categories, I want to discuss this with WikiProject Dams. At least two of the subcategories would need to be renamed "across" vs. "on". You can see the WikiProject Dams conversation here.
