Civility[edit]

I'm just giving you notice, regarding your behavior at User talk:Mean as custard. As I said there, I'll say here WP:DICK (don't let the name fool you, it's not name calling), read it and learn it. Also, learn Wikipedia guidelines before you start "yelling and screaming" at other editors. Behavior like that won't get you any friends. There's nothing on your DICK page to read. Makes no sense.

Sorry, it was there last I checked. lol. Here's the proper link. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 20:10, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I don't understand how I am being a jerk just by asking a question. I made my first update and someone just deleted it with no reason given. Surely it is reasonable to ask why? Shogunofharlem (talk) 20:14, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As my mom would always say "It's not what you say, but how you say it." Rather than saying: "Why did you undo my edit without explanation? Do you know more about SP than I do? If so why not at least give a reason!" You could've/should've said something more along the lines of: "Could you please tell me why you undid my edit? Because you failed to leave an edit summary." And please note the "!" at the end isn't helpful. It can and is usually taken as yelling, which doesn't go over well here, not just with me, but everyone in general. Fair enough. Point taken and thanks for the explanation. I will refrain from exclamation marks in the future and will try to phrase queries differently. That said, I do feel it's a little harsh that the other editor made the reversion with no justification, and yet I'm called the jerk. Something I will have to get used to perhaps. Shogunofharlem (talk) 20:20, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well, after a time people (such as myself) occasionally forget to use the edit summary. lol Also, the exclamation mark isn't always a bad thing, just get to know someone before you start using it. So it's not misconstrued. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 20:22, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And now for something completely different[edit]

Thanks for sharing your opinion. Didn't mean much to me to be honest, but I appreciate you stopping by anyway. Shogunofharlem (talk)

You can be right, but you ought to be seen to be right. Poor word choice distracts from your real grievance. As a newbie it is best to fit, not to fight. That's all. FWIW. Best regards. 7&6=thirteen () 23:01, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Makes sense. I have already apologised above and all comments taken on board. Shogunofharlem (talk)
