Copy-paste move[edit]

Hello, and welcome to editing Wikipedia. I see that you have attempted to rename Shelikhov Gulf to Shelekhov Bay by copying and pasting the contents. There are, unfortunately two problems with this. Firstly, this is not the correct way to move a page, as it loses the editing history of the page, which needs to be kept for copyright and other reasons. If a page is to be moved to a new title it must be done by using the "move" link at the top of the page. Secondly, Wikipedia's manual of style requires that an article title should use the form most commonly recognised in English. Whatever may be the correct spelling in Russian, "Shelikhov" is without doubt the more common spelling in English. As just one illustration of this fact, a Google search for "Shelikhov Bay" produces 1390 hits, while "Shelekhov Bay" produces only 110. JamesBWatson (talk) 16:41, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I understand what you are saying about the (unfortunate) misspelling in the English version of the surname, however, the Russian (or any Cyrillic) spelling should be exactly correct as the name was spelled by the person and as adopted by the city and other authorities in Russia today and in the past. This version is INCORRECT: Григо́рий Ива́нович Ше́лихов This is the CORRECT version: Григо́рий Ива́нович Ше́лехов

What is the correct method to get this changed?

on a side note:

We do also have a further complaint that is being ignored on the Russian side that the originator of the article is using his own souvenir website to make money off wiki as its primary purpose and does noting to present corroborating information, or expanding on the content of the page. This link (Памятник Г.И.Шелихову в Рыльске. Сувенироград. Проверено 18 июля 2010.)should be removed from the references section on http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A8%D0%B5%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%85%D0%BE%D0%B2,_%D0%93%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B3%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B9_%D0%98%D0%B2%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B8%D1%87 . However, all the edits or discussions have been deleted on that side. This is VERY disturbing to see wiki being hijacked like this.
