I think it would be all right to just keep in tallest in Las Vegas. The list already states that it inlcudes buildings from the surronding communities and there address is sill Las Vegas. On the Las Vegas list, there are alot of buildings on the proposed and approved list that look like they might not get built. On emporis and skyscraperpage it says they were supposed to start construction in 2006 or 2007, but still list them as approved or proposed. Can I just remove the links, because it seem pointless to make an article on a building that might not get built. I already removed the stale proposles. Tallest Buildings in Seoul

This may be out of your area, but I just made some massive changes to Template:WikiProject St. Louis using code ripped from Template:WikiProject Korea. But if you look at Talk:Korea Baseball Organization and compare it to Talk:Gravois Park, St. Louis, you will see that I have made a big mistake on the working group component. I don't understand why there is a category appearing below it either. At least there are now category links to the different classes and importance ranks. Indeed I do have more code questions. What have I done to create this space after the template? When the St. Louis WP banner is on the page with another banner, there is a space for some reason. Check out Talk:Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. It is something that should be addressed, I think, but I don't see any overt linebreaks in the code for Template:WikiProject St. Louis. Any thoughts?

I've strayed from architecture a little of late, but i've made strides at Wikipedia:WikiProject St. Louis/Education. I've become a bit category obsessed. I've only now learned that I can't change categories without permission from some far off category discussion group... Blah. Anyway, do know if it is possible to make a watchlist for a wikiproject? That'd be really helpful. If for instance, I could put all the articles tagged as part of the st. louis education working group under a watchlist on the working group page, that'd be sweet. that infobox was kind of unhelpful. I could only fill in like two fields and those were not informative. I took a proactive approach. I suppose I'm allow to do it... I ripped and modified the original userbox code. Heh. I think I'll do similar things for the other working groups soon. I'm not sure if a pages to watch page is what I was hoping for. If you are going to be working on Miami, then maybe you'll be able to step into the category arena going on between the bot controlling people at Wikipedia:Categories under Discussion. There's a big thing between city vs. metro area stuff right now. I strongly disagree with some of them. It comes down to deciding if Category:Buildings and structures in Miami, Florida refers to those buildings inside the city limits or all the buildings in the metro area. I hold the position that there must be a second category for Category:Buildings and structures in the Miami Metro Area because saying a building in the next county over is located in miami, florida is an outright lie. This is much more true for Baltimore and St. Louis who are not part of any county and have special government designations. This is especially irritating to me as I see things like Education in St. Louis, Missouri. The article is confused about its focus. Is it talking about the city or the area around it? The k-12 schools it lists are only those inside the city limits and the universities are almost all outside it, some even in another state. Education in St. Louis, Missouri should cover those things that happen in its borders because the article for St. Louis, Missouri deals only with that area.  !!! There is an article for Greater St. Louis so the macro ed article should be Education in Greater St. Louis. This is just my opinion, but i'm certainly going to hold to it. Miscellaneous comments

Hello Raime. An editor recently added Miami to a sentence about cities that are experiencing major building booms to the Skyscraper article. Another editor that is keeping close track of the article (and removes anything that is not sourced because "this article needs sources from now on"), added {{Citation needed}} after the sentence. To add a source myself, I went to the List of tallest buildings in Miami where I know it says something similar. I was hoping to use the exact same reference, but there is none, only a note. Can you add a reference to both statements in the Miami list and the skyscrapers article?

About the List of tallest buildings in Los Angeles, I have a few "issues" with your edits. First of all, why do the timelines for the tallest buildings lists only include one reference? You removed the Emporis references that I added. Isn't it easier to change the column title to "References" instead of removing the references that provided the content for the table? And, I remember when we were working on the Dubai list, I learned that it is better to have two references instead of one where possible. Shouldn't this apply to the timeline also? Secondly, I had used a SkyscraperPage diagram to find that nine of the ten tallest buildings in California are in Los Angeles. You changed it to seven. But I found a third statistic. At the List of tallest buildings in the United States (if you put the tallest building list in order of city), it shows that there are eight buildings in Los Angeles and two in San Francisco, and no other buildings in any other California city. There must be a mistake somewhere that needs to be fixed.

I know that this it is too early to discuss this, but I will inform you of my thoughts. After the current Featured Topic Drive is complete, do you think it would be wise to work on either the largest skylines throughout the whole world and/or cities that have a building that is one of the tallest building in the world. I was thinking that if a city is home to a building in the top 50, we should have a featured list for that city's tallest buildings. I know it will be a while before we finish the current FTD, so I will just plant this idea now and see what happens when we get there.

Well, actually I was talking about Note C. I was hoping you would add a reference that validated the statement about the number of buildings under construction, not about the current world or country ranking. And I should add that the editor I referred to earlier removed your source because it is a blog. Thank you for the explanation about the number of references for the timeline. I just find it strange that there could ever be too many references. And about creating articles for all those lists, I am sure it can happen as OOODDD and Alaskan assassin have shown us. Whether or not the articles establish notabilty or are well referenced is another issue.

I would also like to tell you that I feel really guilty that I, having been a member of the FTD for almost five months, have only helped to bring one list to featured status. And to make it worse, the list is not even a part of the FTD. I believe I will have more time to work on the lists in the coming weeks. Miami building

I appreciate very much all the work you have done to enhance the List of tallest buildings in Miami article. You have improved the article vastly and I commend you for that. I'm not an artist by any means, but I have to question the choice of placing the bank of america photo that just shows a street level vertical view that makes the building look like any other of thousands across the world. Don't you think that a frontal view of the building that shows the unique qualities of the construction should be more appropriate? The photo, although maybe a more modern higher-quality one does nothing to justify the one-of-a-kind quality that this building contributes. There aren't any other buildings with this construction anywhere that I know of. Shouldn't this be shown as the primary photo? The photo currently there doesn't express the uniqueness of the structure. I feel that only a direct frontal view is appropriate for this article. Residential buildings

Do you think we should have a separate article for tallest all-residential buildings in the United States (and the World for that matter)? I feel I should be able to look up 55 East Erie, 340 on the Park and soon One Museum Park and Chicago Spire in this regard. I think all-would be pretty essential because I have never read about a building that said it is the tallest partially residential building. The two titles I have heard are tallest all-residential and highest residence. I guess if you include both lists in the same article all-might not be necessary. There are not many very tall all hotel buildings that I know of. Use of term skyscrapers for heading

Where accurate, why not use why not use the heading 'skyscrapers' for appropriate sections? The main reason for this is that when people search, they normally type 'skyscrapers' for their search term, and when the article has at least one heading with skyscrapers. As it is now, none of the city buildings lists contain the term skyscraper in a heading, this leaves them out of many searches on seach engines. Some may type buildings and this would be captured by the heading anyway. The tallest buildings list doesn't retrieve on a skyscraper search for the cities. Skyscraper is an accurate heading for that particular section for most cities with a few exceptions. The tallest buildings heading may include churches/momuments for those few exceptions. Trans National Place

Hi Raime I've noticed you've been heavily involved with the editing of the article on Trans National Place and would like to bring something up. I am a Tufts University student majoring in Civil Engineering and recently had to do a comprehensive report of the engineering aspects of the proposed TNP building in Boston. I, along with 3 other students, interviewed Mr. David Hancock of CBT Architects about the project and gathered a lot of helpful information (most of which would be far too technical for this Wikipedia entry; structural, geotechnical issues, etc), but one thing I would like to address is the expected date of completion. The project is still in the permitting phase. In fact, the existing property owned by Trans National Group is still currently being used and will not be set for demolition until permits are obtained. Excavation, bracing, and construction on the new building will not likely begin until next year (2009), and will not be complete until, at earliest, the beginning of 2013. Mr. Hancock gave us the following sequence of events:

Permitting: 1 year Demolition of existing structures: 4 to 6 months Slurry Wall, excavation, bracing: 6 to 8 months Construction: ~2 years (superstructure at a rate of about one floor per week) Glass, utilities, furnishings: 4 to 6 months Completion: 4.5 to 5 years from now (~2013-2014)

Therefore, the date of 2011 is inaccurate. The article already is tagged stating there is speculative information. Regardless of this, I believe replacing the dates of 2011 with 2013 would be more appropriate and to the benefit of readers of the article. Also this information comes from an expert, so it is credible. I do have access to the report, an associated powerpoint presentation, and a digital copy of the interview with Mr. Hancock to substantiate this if needed. Do you know anything about the space in front of River Plaza and between the Trump International Hotel & Tower (Chicago) and Wrigley Building. I am under the impression that Trump will be landscaping a park of sorts and that he has some sort of airspace rights to that land to protect the view and value of his building. term skyscrapers

The traditional definition of a skyscraper is 10 stories or higher with a steel frame, this is how Chicago is called the city of a thousand skyscrapers and also that on May 1, 1884 began construction on Chicago's "first skyscraper" at 10 stories (Home Insurance Building). The history of the skyscraper is consistent with the 10 story definition. The term skyscrapers is not inconsistent with the articles on tallest buildings, a skyscraper is a type of building. The term building also emcompasses churches and monuments so its fine for the title. It would be useful for at least one heading within the article to be 'skyscraper' since it is a very common search term and placing it in at least one heading in the article would help to capture the articles. malaysia

I went up to KL this yesterday for the first time. I stood at the base of the Petronas Twin Towers and I've got to tell you, they are quite impressive. The facade has so much metal. It really is spectacular. That picture on the architecute userbox is surprisingly accurate. If you see it from the nearby Kuala Lumpur Tower, it is noteworthy. I have lots of pictures of the towers but they really didn't quite fit into my camera focus very well. The camera didn't do it justice. The pics in the article gallery are pretty good though. For Taipei, my girlfriend has been there several times and even had an apartment there for a while and she never noticed it! Template:Engineering update

The newer design, while remaining largely the same as far as looks, will be a bit wider (210' x 120'). This will provide more rentable space. Piano didn't like the fact that widening the building design from its original slim profile would "choke" TNP by being too close to the surrounding structures. I would tend to disagree with him, having been on-site, as there is plenty of room for the building footprint (not to mention it will surpass any structure around it by at least 400 feet--sort of hard to choke if you can't even reach the neck). I sadly cannot provide a more professional "printed" source of the information, as CBT has decided to release minimal information to the media outlets; you probably noticed that since no article has been written about the project for about a year. They wouldn't even let one of my partners take a picture of the scale model to use in the report. Therefore, reconsidering what I said in the last message, I suppose it would be appropriate to wait for a more professional source to print the information (the only thing to rely on would be my "original research" which is evil by Wikipedia standards).

However, for your own curiousity... yes, the project will be built. According to David Hancock, the Mayor is very excited for the new jobs it will bring to the city and Mr. Steve Belkin wouldn't let this die easily as he wants it to be his legacy. Also, he is a widely successful entrepreneur, so he knows there must be profit in the building for him. Maps

I don't know if you are familiar with http://tiger.census.gov/cgi-bin/mapbrowse-tbl/ I just created my first maps from the service this morning (yesterday by UTC time). One is at Historic Michigan Boulevard District. A better example is Image:Rush Street via tiger.census.gov.gif, which is at a scale to show street detail. The maps just need latitude and longitude and then scaling parameter. I think all buildings should have maps. I am going to add one to each of my two current WP:GACs (Trump International Hotel & Tower (Chicago) and Roanoke Building) by the weekend. I think WP:SKY, WP:NRHP and WP:WPARCH should probably get involved because we would need to goose some infobox templates to make room for maps. To get to featured status

Raime, since you are always the one that does the final changes to lists and then nominates them, I was hoping you could look over List of tallest buildings in Atlanta and List of tallest buildings in the United States. I would like you to tell me what other things need to be done before they can be brought to featured list candidacy. I realize that many articles still need to be created for Atlanta, but I was thinking just along the lines of the list itself. And, can you think of a better title for the to-be-created article Equitable Building (Atlanta 1892) (there is already an article titled Equitable Building (Atlanta))? As for the US list, can you have a look over the timeline I created. See the talk page about concerns I have over the accuracy. Thank you for your work on improving the Atlanta list. As for the United States list, why would non-building structures be included? I know that a few others lists have them, but this is for a country and not a city. Also, I think a note about non-building free-standing structures should be added to Wikipedia:WikiProject Skyscrapers/Tallest building lists just to ensure all lists that include such structures follow the same format/guidelines. Several weeks ago I asked you about the tallest buildings in Raleigh. I've put that list on hold because the guy who was going to take pictures for me has vanished from WP. Anyway, I'm thinking about creating a list for the tallest buildings in Arlington County, Virginia because I live in D.C. and I can take the pictures myself. My question is do you think I should create an article for buildings in the county or create separate lists for the various urban villages (Arlington County doesn't contain any incorporated towns). I don't know if you're familiar with the area, but Arlington County is very small and has pockets of high-rises along metro stops. I think it would be best to start by creating a List of tallest buildings in Rosslyn, Virginia, as that community seems to have a sufficienly large number of high-rises to have its own tallest building list. I would then think that any other community containing a significant amount of high-rises (at least 15) should have a separate tallest building list, and then one main List of tallest buildings in Arlington County, Virginia should be created to contain buildings from all of the communities. Do you think that any communiity besides Rosslyn could constitute its own tallest building list? Perhaps only two are needed: List of tallest buildings in Rosslyn, Virginia and List of tallest buildings in Arlington County, Virginia, of which the latter would contain all of the buildings listed in the former (similar to how state lists such as List of tallest buildings in Michigan contain all of the buildings listed in city lists such as List of tallest buildings in Detroit). That's probably the best solution, an article for Rosslyn and one for the county. I'll have to ride out to Ballston, Clarendon, and Courthouse to check out the number of buildings to see if any of them warrant a separate list. Crystal City contains numerous high-rises, but they're all basically the same height. (much like D.C., except of course the buildings in D.C. are 15ish stories max) Thanks for your help!
