So, Welcome again to Wikipedia. Glad to see you picked up a user name. It makes it easier to talk. I'm into history and the origin of words too, so your comment made sense to me. County Seat?[edit]

Was replacing Salinas with King City as the seat of Monterey County a joke (vandalism) or an honest mistake? Your user name leads me to beleive the former. Anyways please make sure the information you post is correct- this is an encyclopedia after all. FYI, I fixed the spelling on your user page. Thank you for understanding and future cooperation. Sorry but it's Salinas. I live in North County myself and not only am I personally very sure that the county seat is Salinas, but the US Census Bureau also agree with me on this one. Arguing that King City is the seat of Monterey County is like arguing that Annapolis is the US capital; its easly proven wrong through several auhtorized sources as well as common knowledge. Glad to see the wiki-police are on the job :-) I wish I could leave that true statement in place but I know I can't.
