Who is a Puerto Rican?

I'm a little confused. User: Entre-Nos says that unless you are born in Puerto Rico, you are not Puerto Rican. This is not a debate, just a discussion. I would like to know the answer to this, here:[[1]] Tony the Marine 02:01, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

I have asked myself that same question. Born and raised in PR and living in NY for the last 25 years. My godson was born in Brooklyn and now resides in PR -- he's almost 18 and moved to PR when he was 5 or 6. A UPR student, he has been asked,"Where were you born?" and he will answer, "NY but I am puertorrican." For many years I was a fiercely defendant and believer that puertorricans are the those born in the island. However, 18 years later and after marrying a "newyorican" who is a Marine and who says "I am puertorrican" -- which I will reply,"no, you're newyorrican" -- I humbly accept that it's an individual perspective. Deeply inside I still struggle with my godson's perspective and my husband's remark and must keep my voice silent as I must respect their feelings, their decision. It's what you heart commands you to say. "Yo protesto" and, "I will be puertorrican even if I was born in the moon." Maru592 (talk) 14:03, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Please better acquaint yourself with Wikipedia's expectations regarding Neutral Point of View before making further edits such as this. Thank you. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 05:37, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Hello, como estas? I expressed myself in User:Jpgordon's talk page and I believe that things can finally be worked out. There is one important thing that I am interested in. Do you know on what day did the political advertisements come out on T.V. and is there a source as to when they were televised? This would answer a lot of things. Take care. I just came around this by noticing the post in Tony's talk page. I must say that it surprises me to see such a post by an experienced user. I figure that you are PNP by the edit and the scope of your last edits, but please don't into actually promoting the party's campaign, by doing that you are acting no better than that guy that got the PIP's webpage blacklisted by spaming it all over the place. We have enough as it is and without Marcos there are few sysops in WP:PUR that can handle politics without annoyance. - Caribbean~H.Q. 19:22, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for posting the names of the Senators. I went and added them. I had really messed up in Javier De la Luz's name (I have such a bad memory). Before I went on a cruise with my wife last week, I posted my latest article Puerto Rican scientists and inventors, check it out if you like. Tony the Marine (talk) 04:49, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the edits. I had no idea that Miriam Naveira Rodon was the daughter of Miriam Naveira. I added the facts that you suggested. You live and learn. Tony the Marine (talk) 05:34, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

About the cruise

Well my friend, as I told you before I'm back from the cruise (a gift to my wife and myself by my son). The ship stopped in Catalina Island, Cali. and in Ensenada Mexico. The last time I was in Mexico was in 1969, when as a U.S. Marine, I was sent to Camp Pendelton and I visited Tijuana. The thing about Ensenada, Mexico that I had to see was La Bufadora and the Convention Center which once was a casino owned by Al Capone. Since you know that I enjoy history, I was able to visit the historical ship, the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach, Cal. which saw service in WW II. Tony the Marine (talk) 04:38, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Peter John Ramos

Thnaks, I added PJR again and placed a reference also. That's why I like having you here, you can point out these things for me. I can't understand why people can't follow simple instructions, pero que se hacer, verdad? Anyway, como esta la politica en la isla? Tony the Marine (talk) 17:16, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
