Irpen river in central Ukraine.

Ehm. Thanks, but why? And have we met? I hope I did do something well to get your attention. Best regards and lots of Wikilove from me as well. --Irpen 04:21, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some context[edit]

As for the poem, I just think it is worthy to mention for the record (you of course know it) that the poet originally wrote it about the Dnieper not the Irpen river since the latter, while beautiful, is hardly mighty or broad as the poet put it.

Mykola Burachek (1871 - 1942), "The broad Dnieper roars and moans" (1941). Oil on canvas.

Also, while the Monet painting is indeed astoundingly beautiful, there is a work specifically painted to illustrate this great poem. I hope you like this painting by this great Ukrainian artist who is undeservingly little known abroad. --Irpen 04:21, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
