I am the official representative of director Mania Akbari. As you may have grasped from the article, the movie and the shooting of the movie had come to a halt in Iran. and due to the arrests of many filmmakers in Iran, the details of this movie have been kept a secret until this day. The movie is in post-production and being edited in AMStudio in Dubai at the moment. Since the trailer is to be released tomorrow morning, she found it necessary to create the wikipedia entry for further reference.

Also, you may refer to Mania Akbari's page to read more about the process which led to the creation of this film.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 6 Video Arts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. JetBlast (talk) 12:50, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

January 2012[edit]

Hello Parnian.farnam. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 13:14, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank you for your note on my talk page. First, just to clarify, I haven't tagged any of the articles you've written as having conflict of interest issues -- that's not necessary if they are going to be deleted, but if they should be kept, such a tag would be appropriate. The fact that you, as you wrote, "[are] sitting here with the director" means that you do, in fact, have a conflict of interest. Please read the information in the notice above this one carefully -- I'm afraid I can't explain what a conflict of interest means in the context of Wikipedia much more clearly than that. Please also read the information that is linked from that notice. If you have any remaining questions, don't hesitate to ask me or any other editor. Thank you.

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 17:39, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page From Tehran to London (film) has been reverted.
Your edit here to From Tehran to London (film) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oijSbS7F-U4&feature=youtu.be) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. The article 6 Video Arts by Mania Akbari has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unremarkable film, possible COI/promotional. Google search on "6 Video Arts" "Mania Akbari" shows only 56 unique results. No significant coverage from independent reliable sources - primarily directory/festival listings and social media.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. In response to your feedback[edit]

Hi. I know that the messages sent to new users can be pretty overwhelming - there is a lot of text and links to seemingly endless policies. One of the major problems is that you're claiming to be the "official representative" of a person you're trying to write about. Its very difficult for a person who has such a role to be neutral and fair in what they are writing about. That's why we have a conflict of interest policy. I'd recommend reading that policy, since it should give you a better sense of what's going on. The other major issue is whether the film (6 Video Arts by Mania Akbari) you are trying to write an article about is notable enough to be included in this encyclopedia. You guessed it, we have a policy on what films are notable too!. If you feel that 6 Video Arts does meet that guideline than you are free to remove the notice saying that the article has been proposed for deletion. Just edit the page and delete the lines at the top of the article starting with {{Proposed deletion and ending with }}

Having said that, if the reason that you're here is to help promote something, you're very likely to be unsuccessful. That's really not what wikipedia is for. We do have some limits about what articles can get written, and we do this because we want to be a great encyclopedia. Anybody can have a website. Not everyone can have a wikipedia article.

Best wishes.
