Another nzpol graph request

I wonder if I could get you to update the graph early, not just because of the significant results today but also because your latest update seems to have cleaved off some of the earlier results of the minor parties? -- Pokelova (talk) 06:51, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done and fixed that issue.  Nixinova T  C   07:43, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

NZ Coalition Graph

Hi,
I was wondering if it would be possible for you to create a graph in the same style as your general one for NZ, just graphing coalitions (Labor+Greens vs NCP+Nationals+ACT) by adding up the %s.
Thanks Quinby (talk) 12:00, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I could do that. Only thing is tho, what parties should be put in each coalition? Just the main Labour/Greens vs National/Act; then where should the Maori party go?  Nixinova T  C   05:33, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Nixinova, I think either they could be left out or put in an 'others' line Quinby (talk) 14:31, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, done, see: commons:File:Opinion polling for the 2023 New Zealand election (blocs).svg  Nixinova T  C   08:02, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The inclusion of Te Pati Maori with non-parliamentary parties could be viewed as a bias against their policy and influence. For this graph to be an effective tool in assessing potential coalitions, I would suggest revising it to include these four series:
- Centre-left bloc (Labour + Greens)
- Centre-right bloc (National + Act)
- Other parliamentary parties (currently only TPM)
- Non-parliamentary parties (currently NZF, TOP, NCP and others) 116.90.136.55 (talk) 02:34, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I partially agree, but am not sure that TPM can be considered "Other", as they have recently ruled out a right wing coalition. ACT has ruled out coalition with Labour recently as well, with National/Greens having been ruled out side 2008. This being the case, perhaps potential coalitions only need include LAB+GRN+TPM and NAT+ACT plus or minus the non-parliamentary parties?

Ok done, I've included MRI under the left bloc instead of Other  Nixinova T  C   05:15, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
