April 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. A tag has been placed on Toilet in India requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from indianeagle /travelbeats/history-of-toilets/ and https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-history-of-the-toilet-system-in-all-Indian-history. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — MarkH21talk 09:54, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Can't just do a "Cut-and-paste" move[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. The reason left by Sulfurboy was: This submission is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Slightly changing the title of the article in an effort to push the article through is considered WP:GAMING the system and isn't tolerated. Final warning[edit]

You have, I see, already had one article deleted, Toilets in India, for copyright violations. I have now had to delete a second one, Aditya Sood, for the same reason. It is not acceptable to copy content found elsewhere on the Internet into Wikipedia unless you are certain that it is released under a compatible free license. (The vast, vast majority of it is not.) Wikipedia article content must be written in your own words. Repeated copyright violations are not tolerated and further incidents of this nature are likely to lead to a block from editing. If you have any questions you are welcome to ask me. Seraphimblade Talk to me 08:01, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Seraphimblade: Nilabh Shivam seems not to have taken your warning to heart. The version of Ram Mandir, Ayodhya edited by him [1] appears to have fairly substantial copyright issues [2], [3], [4]. The previous version didn't have these problems; [5]. I'm involved, and cannot block; would you mind checking whether my concerns are justified? Vanamonde (Talk) 05:16, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

May 2020[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, as you did at draft:Covid 19 pandemic in Meghalaya, you may be blocked from editing. If you need guidance on how to create appropriate pages, try using the Article Wizard. You have been reminded not to resubmit this draft without discussing it with the task force for the purpose. Repeated resubmission is disruptive. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:40, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ram temple links[edit]

Hi, please stop adding this link to the hatnote and see also sections of a number of articles. The hatnote is meant for disambiguating potentially confusing articles; the see also section is for articles not already linked in the body. The link you are adding belongs in the text, as a closely related topic; not in either of these sections. Vanamonde (Talk) 16:28, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

May 2020[edit]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without evidence of permission. Please take this opportunity to ensure that you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Seraphimblade Talk to me 05:39, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'll note that especially in this case, "indefinite" need not mean "permanent". However, before restoration of your editing privileges can be considered, it will need to be clear that you understand what the issue is and will not continue introducing copyright violations. Seraphimblade Talk to me 05:40, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Using a sockpuppet account to evade the block, though, sure won't help matters. I have blocked that account accordingly. While this account remains blocked, you may not edit Wikipedia under any account or anonymously. Seraphimblade Talk to me 06:35, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Yes I understand what the issue is and i will not continue introducing copyright violations. I was just confused to how to use this interface and contribute to it, i find it difficult to use and understand Wikipedia rights, rules/laws etc so i just opposed when someone reverted my edits, but will not do this again Thanks Nilabh Shivam 333 (talk) 12:23, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words:

  • What is copyright?
  • How is Wikipedia licenced?
  • Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
  • Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
  • How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?

Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Yunshui  12:45, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

answers to above questions *Copyright Means it is a form of protection for original work of a author *Wikipedia is licensed by CC BY SA ( Creative Commons ) *Because of US Copyright Laws and all like wikipedia is an organisation based in US , so that's why *We can use copyright contents if we provide details about it's source and author like links of source and credit it to author of that source *I will avoid any further copyright policy of Wikipedia by implying more information about Wikipedia policies and will learn how to use platform through some tutor to avoid things which in result can lead to strikes and banning me from editing further Nilabh Shivam 333 (talk) 13:50, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

These answers are not generally correct. For example, Wikipedia is licensed under two licenses, not one. For example, your explanation on how we could use copyrighted contents is blatantly wrong. As you have no understanding of WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:FAIRUSE, we need to leave you blocked to protect the project. Yamla (talk) 14:11, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
