Alyse Galvin[edit]

WP:GNG requires that a subject have significant, independent news coverage. Galvin doesn't have that. She'll be notable if she wins, but she isn't at present. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:06, 3 November 2018 (UTC) @Muboshgu: That is categorically untrue. There has been national and state coverage of Alyse by big, independent news sources including AP, Harper's Bazaar, New Haven Register, The Hill, Yahoo! News, NewsMax, as well as dozens of Alaska media stories. It is clear that there has been a mountain of significant, independent news coverage. Please reinstate. An article you recently created, List of first Native American U.S. state legislators, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:15, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:List of first Native American U.S. state legislators. Thanks! SiliconRed (he/him • talk) 19:42, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, figure I'll just come over to your talk page to chat. I left the comment on Draft:List of first Native American U.S. state legislators. I think it'll be good for approval with a bit of work to clean it up. I am making adjustments to List of first African-American U.S. state legislators, specifically configuring everything as a table with a ref column. I'll start once I finish modifying AA state legislators but it'd be great if you could kick off the table-ing/ref-ing process in the draft 😊 SiliconRed (he/him • talk) 23:56, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Thanks for your help! I'm a little new to creating pages, so I appreciate it. Could you explain a bit more what you mean about table-ing/ref-ing? I can certainly do that, but need a little more context. Thanks! :) Naulagmi (talk) 20:45, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Naulagmi

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Govvy, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Nikaitchuat Iḷisaġviat, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Govvy}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Govvy (talk) 20:58, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Govvy, is the deletion a matter of sourcing? There are certainly many independent news sources that have spoken about the school, and it's certainly notable as the only Iñupiaq immersion school in the world. But I don't want to put in a bunch of work into sourcing if it's just going to be deleted anyways. Thanks! Naulagmi (talk) 18:27, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
One source which is primary is no good, WP:ORG which tells you about notability of enteritis like this, which tells us you need to add a lot more sources to construct a better article than presented here. Govvy (talk) 23:25, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay thanks! I haven't had time to edit it, but if I create it again, I'll make sure to include more sourcing. Naulagmi (talk) 22:22, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
