Coastal Karnataka and Kanara refer to the same geographical region[edit]
Coastal Karnataka and Kanara are 2 different names of the same geographical region. This region comprises of 3 districts of Karnataka. They are
1. Dakshina Kannada
2. Udupi district
3. Uttara Kannada
Hence Mangalore, being part of Dakshina Kannada is appropriately included under the Coastal Karnataka region in the Wikipedia article.
