WikiProject Texas A&M

Howdy! As a current or past contributor to a related article, I thought I'd let you know about WikiProject Texas A&M, a collaborative effort to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Texas A&M University. If you would like to participate, you can visit the project page, where you can join the project and see a list of open tasks and related articles. Thanks and Gig 'em! Addbot (talk) 19:44, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, stuff like that happens to me all the time, thanks for reverting the vandalism! Bmg916Speak 21:30, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WWE Raw[edit]

Hello. I just thought I should let you know that [[WWE Raw|RAW]] is the correct link, not [[WWE RAW|RAW]]. Changing to the latter creates redirecting from perfectly fine links. - Deep Shadow 03:27, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. I also try to eliminate redirects wherever I can, even though it's technically against Wikipedia redirect guidelines. But I don't care. :P - Deep Shadow 03:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 19:26, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Background[edit]

How do you make a background in only one color and one border?!!! PLEASE REPLY BACK!!! Thedeadmanandphenom 16:56, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! I honestly just copied the code from Nightstallion's User page. This was the same layout/color scheme he was using at the time. I can copy and edit code all day but wouldn't have a clue about creating the code myself, sorry ..maybe you can do the same or ask Nightstallion or someone else more knowledgeable about it! --Naha|(talk) 22:15, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I changed my mind and created a new user page for you - I took the liberty to update your user page with my new design. The explanation and lots of information are on your talk page. I hope you enjoy it! --Naha|(talk) 02:00, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks so much. I really appreciate this. I was wondering if my userboxes can be shows right when I enter my user page other then being hidden and clicking "Show" to show my user boxes. This is so cool. Thanks a lot. Thedeadmanandphenom 15:29, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dark Executioner Responds To Your Edit on My Userpage[edit]

I was looking through my userpage's history in order to find out why my Led Zeppelin link is small-fonted on my userpage. I was wondering if somebody could have possibly put an invisible vandalization on my page. You were the only other user to have ever edited my userpage. You made the link to the WWE better. However, it was also around that time that I noticed the problem with my Led Zeppelin link. A friend of mine, Skeeker, tried to help me but he couldn't figure out what was wrong. If you know that this is something that you did, I would greatly appreciate it if you'd go to my userpage and fix it. Thanks. Dark Executioner 19:01, 19 August 2007 (UTC)Dark Executioner[reply]

Howdy! It wasn't me who made the Led Zeppelin small text change, but I went ahead and fixed it for you. There was a tag missing on the line before Led Zeppelin, so the small text continued down to the next line. Cheers, --Naha|(talk) 19:09, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

reply from WP:PW talk page[edit]

I wrote the following on the WP:PW walk page, but I thought I'd x-post it here so you wouldn't miss it:

Um...I think you misread what I wrote (or perhaps I wrote it unclearly). I wasn't asking anyone to peer review anything. I was replying to Davnel, who said "if you have been working on the article for several months and no one else has really been taking notice (MPJ-DK's tag article (Fabulous Kangaroos for instance), why should they come here if they are the only one working on it?" My point was that more than one person needs to look at an article, because if only one person works on it, they can miss things. Don't feel you have to go peer review the article, because I wasn't asking you to. Nikki311 02:52, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I misread, thanks for the notice though ..I'll keep working on it as I find the article interesting and also I think I can help it improve a lot as far as wording :) --Naha|(talk) 03:09, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thank you, it's appriciated[edit]

The Copyeditor's Barnstar
for the excellent copyediting efforts on The Fabulous Kangaroos, especially for helping a clueless dane out with "that there English". MPJ-DK 20:15, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! I was glad to do it :) --Naha|(talk) 20:20, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yep I'm from Denmark, born and raised. And well my biggest problem is copyediting, while I'm pretty good at English I'm far from perfect. My strengths lay more in the fact that I've got a huge amount of knowledge about wrestling & wrestling history, I'm experienced in doing research and I'm well versed in the wikipedia format requirements. The edits you've done on the Kangaroos will be applied to Al Costello, Roy Heffernan and Don Kent as well since I hope to bring them to GA status with time - but first I want to focus on getting the first tag team article to GA status. MPJ-DK 16:51, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pre GA Checklist[edit]

I noticed that after a lot of input on the WP:PW page all the activity about a "Pre GA" checklist has died down. I've tried to put together a suggestion to the checklist page, since you had a lot of ideas (and since I shamelessly swiped them and used them on the page) maybe you can check it out and give me a little input before I bring it to the pro wrestling project? It's currently in my sandbox at User:MPJ-DK/Update 3. Any and all input is appriciated, I think this is a great opportunity to help both the project and wikipedia. MPJ-DK 22:15, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be more than happy to, and greatly appreciate your effort in helping to make this happen ..and hey, I'll copyedit it to if need be hehe! :P --Naha|(talk) 22:39, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I like what you've done with the page, it's really coming together very well. If this works then I think this will be a great boost to the pro wrestling project. It'd be great if we could get some sort of task force together of experienced editors with various fields of expertise like wrestling history, copyediting, sourcing etc. - a sort of "WP:PW Quality Assurance" team and hope that people will listen to and learn from. This is the kind of work I get excited about, much more interesting than arguing over "Taglines" in articles or if it's the "Undispited WWF World Title" or the "WWF Undisputed World title" or something equally silly. MPJ-DK 17:12, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I completely agree, getting organized like this and bringing people together to contribute to a common goal using their strengths is exciting. I'm still trying to decide if more information about the FA process needs to be added to the page, most of the stuff is about GA. Any thoughts? --Naha|(talk) 17:38, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added a link to FA that could be useful. I think the page is good to go now, the main focus should be on the GA process because that's the level most articles will shoot for and that's where there are the most "unready" nominations. Great work on the page. MPJ-DK 05:51, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good, go ahead and present it to WP:PW when you are ready, I'm looking forward to what people say about it! --Naha|(talk) 12:37, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User pages on en.wb[edit]

Please double-check that the user page of the same name on en.wb is yours and is redirecting the way you want it. It was (for a time, and possibly still is) redirecting to itself, which would list it as a double redirect, while not redirecting to anything useful. Mike.lifeguard | talk 02:26, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I currently click on the redirects for my userpage and talkpage on en.wb and they direct to my userpage and talkpage on Wikipedia which is what I was going for! Thanks for checking! :) --Naha|(talk) 02:39, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WMX8[edit]

I'm not sure what the point of that change was. It was still Sunday Night Heat in 2003. Mshake3 18:21, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No point, sorry. Reverting it. I think I might be using an old version of my AutoWikiBrowser xml file, in which (among other things I was doing), I was replacing that particular link in articles where it should have been refered to as simply WWE HEAT. Thanks for catching it. --Naha|(talk) 18:27, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your "peace" offering[edit]

You come to my talk page to claim that you want to make a peace offering, and then proceed to edit war your POV? It doesn't work like that, you don't try to butter people up to believe your trying to be productive then continue on doing what you're doing. Suggest you stay away from my talk page now. — Moe ε 02:01, 1 September 2007 (UTC) I'm sorry but I honestly have no idea what you are talking about.[reply]

What the heck are you talking about? Edit warring? WHAT??? --Naha|(talk) 02:19, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Edit warring? What? Please do not make such accusations without explaining what is on your mind. My peace offering wasn't "buttering you up" for anything, it was genuine. I can't imagine what I've done to make you feel this way. --Naha|(talk) 02:22, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No edit warring? Really? First you claim I was trying say something libel, endlessly debate with me, extend a peace offering, then continue to revert. — Moe ε 02:28, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm extremely confused here. The link you pasted to my talk page, shows my edit to John Morrison's article where I inserted the agreed upon addition regarding the "steriod scandal." I didn't come up with it, MPJ did. I initally asked you (on the project talk page, and if you didn't want to, someone else) to add it to the articles per the discussion on WP:PW talk since it appeared as though a consensus had been reached. I then left for the day and when I came back several hours later, no one had done it yet so I went ahead and took care of it. If you had, or currently have a problem with the statement that MPJ suggested you should have voiced your concern when the discussion was being had, additionally you are free to do so now. Due to the fact that no one objected to the proposed statement after several hours, I felt it was ok to add it to the article. I don't see how this is "edit warring."
As far as the "libel discussion" and "endless debate" discussion... that all occured much earlier today when we were having our heated conversaton/debate on the project talk page and again, since then I thought a consensus had been reached as far as what to do about the situation. Additionally, my peace offering and apology came fairly soon after that, having been several hours ago now, and it still holds true. I want to make peace. I don't like being in conflict with editors anymore than anyone else, and would much rather be able to work peacefully along side them than butt heads with them because it is not productive. But I will always do so by obeying Wikipedia policy as close as I possibly can. Again, I'm sorry if you feel my compliance with what was discussed on the WP:PW talk page was "edit warring," (as it didn't have anything to do with you). I feel as though it was upholding policy and following through with what had been proposed (not by me) and decided upon. --Naha|(talk) 02:49, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would also like to take this time to show you this from the Washington Post, specifically:

According to media reports, three of the 14 wrestlers who allegedly had been Signature clients since 2003 are dead: Guerrero, Benoit and former WWE wrestler Brian "Crush" Adams, who died Aug. 13. A fourth wrestler has left the WWE. The 10 others named have been suspended for 30 to 60 days for violating the WWE's anti-drug policy, which prohibits wrestlers from obtaining drugs over the Internet or from a doctor who is not their primary physician.

Moe ε 02:48, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the link, I hadn't seen that one yet. I'm (honestly here) curious as to why the Washington Post article doesn't come out and list the names themself, nor do they point to the specific "media reports" that they are basically saying confirmed the suspensions? If there is another article out there (from a credible source of course) that straight up says Wrestlers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10 have been suspended, that is the one we really need to see. "Media reports" could mean the Dallas Morning News or "tabliod_001". I'm just a tad suspicious that they don't name the wrestlers themselves or say where the got the info (not that they have to, freedom of the press and protecting sources and all that).
Bottom line is, I still haven't seen all the right bits of information in one reliable place at the same time yet, and am still uncomfortable with adding this information. That being said, I've argued this to death now and its really not worth it anymore, especially considering the information we need will come out from a good source within the next few hours. I'm personally not going to make any edits (that have anything to do with the steriod scandal) to any of those 10 articles for 24 hours or so. If you feel I've wronged you, or Wikipedia, please write the information the way you think it should appear, and I won't touch it right now. We've both wasted too much time on this. I honestly hope we can make amends eventually. --Naha|(talk) 03:07, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The article names Orton and Chavo towards the top, which confirms two that I said at least. I'll start looking for more stories. — Moe ε 03:15, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Very true, sounds good. Please feel free to link me and/or the WP:PW with any new sources or stories when you have time. --Naha|(talk) 03:19, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I will. — Moe ε 03:33, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting, it appears that WWE lawyers confirms that there was one more suspension bringing it up to 11 [1] Nobody mentioned by name at all this time. — Moe ε 04:18, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Very interesting indeed. Thanks for the link! --Naha|(talk) 04:26, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Comparing an earlier entry from Fox News [2] this one is from earlier says 9 three months suspensions and 1 nine month suspension was placed (10 total), with the possibility of two more being placed (potential 12). And according to the newsday link above, 1 more three month suspension was placed. (official total 11) No names released from WWE to Fox either. — Moe ε 04:30, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, unfortunately as one of the articles notes, any 2 or 3 month suspensions indicate a second violation of the wellness policy. Thats not good. --Naha|(talk) 04:33, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well it appears the other 1 possibly suspended wasn't Simon Dean, as he was just released from WWE. [3] He may have been the second one interviewed though, nothing confirmed. — Moe ε 04:37, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I was wondering if it might have been Bucci (after having read something else early this morning), then you posted the 411mania link, which is actually an interesting little read in regards to Bucci being a "sacrificial lamb" and how if he was currently wrestling, as opposed to his authority/management position, he might have just been suspended instead of fired. Oh, the suspense! --Naha|(talk) 04:43, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I just read an article that said ESPN accused Batista and Chris Masters of being in the same pharmacy, while New York Daily(?) has accused Santino, Booker and Bucci. WWE is going crack sometime and just release the names, otherwise we aren't going to have much of a roster left. — Moe ε 04:55, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I don't know how many times I can refer to various sources as "interesting" tonight, but this is interesting too... [4] PWTorch.com has been told that at least one top wrestler named in the media stories as turning up in the Internet pharmacy customer list will not be suspended by WWE. Although only hinted to us, the indications we've been given point to an out such as that he "came clean" about the Internet purchases previously and already served a suspension, so he wouldn't be suspended for the same violation twice. --Naha|(talk) 04:52, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly the only person it could be is Orton or Masters, Orton was the only one mentioned who has been busted once, and Masters, well, is Chris Masters... — Moe ε 04:55, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My thoughts exactly. --Naha|(talk) 04:58, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And The Rock chimes in now [5] layin' the SmackDown! on steroids. — Moe ε 05:04, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Heh yeah, I just read that myself. --Naha|(talk) 05:12, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Something about this, this and especially this entry makes me really wonder if professional wrestling is really doomed or not. — Moe ε 05:20, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It better not be, I just recently renewed my subscription to WWE Magazine :P --Naha|(talk) 05:30, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good luck with the news hunt. Its late here now and I'm going to hit the sack. I can't wait to see the news headlines when I wake up in the morning. --Naha|(talk) 05:34, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
'Night. — Moe ε 05:38, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure why I posted all that over here, when the rest of the conversation was on my talk page, especially considering I hate fragmented discussions. I guess I just wanted to make sure you saw it and we could talk. At any rate, if you want to (or want me to) move it all over there to keep it all in one place, we can. Or not. Whatever :P I'm probably going to archive it all pretty soon though so we can put it behind us. P.S. Any more news yet? I just sat down at my computer for the first time today. Cheers, --Naha|(talk) 20:56, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
