1951 or 1952 ?[edit]

I was wondering what this link means in context with this article... --L I C 03:05, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation. How can we conclude that "the election is officially known as 1951"? --L I C 05:39, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure how some books refer to this election as. But, EC calls it 1951. pls see here. --L I C 12:44, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
well, I dont want to change the name until I understand the situation well. it could be that elections were held in 1951 but members probably didnt swearn-in and proceedings start till 1952. --L I C

Legislature of Tamil Nadu[edit]

to make it simple, can we not copy that information from Tamil Nadu state assembly election, 2006 and delete the former winners? --L I C 15:01, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1967 elecetion[edit]

I was wondering from which constituency C. N. Annadurai won this election? --L I C 18:11, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1977 election[edit]

article (MLA list) is still not complete. I wouldnt mind completing it (from the scratch) in the format I have been using in other election articles. unless of course you want to work on it. --L I C 13:28, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you are doing an excellent job. yours was a motivation for me to join you in the middle. very good. I like 1980 results table as it contains much more detailed info. only that the table can be made to look better. It looks crumbled before the infobox. --L I C 17:56, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of 2009 Indian general election analysis[edit]

The article 2009 Indian general election analysis has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article is about "analysis" that is WP:POV. Single source article, and source name is not mentioned in title. Not notable analysis.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Infobox[edit]

I believe previous and next elections in the infobox should rather point to the next election regardless of whether it is a regular or by election. --L I C 17:42, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actor Images[edit]

Hey, it would be great if you could get legitimate images of other actors too, like the picture you uploaded of Vijayakanth. Eelam StyleZ (talk) 16:58, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Almost all Tamil actor pages need portraits; examples, Rajinikanth, Joseph Vijay, Ajith Kumar, R. Sarathkumar, Sathyaraj, Sivaji Ganesan, Surya Sivakumar, Vikram. Since those are the "biggies" of Tamil cinema, I guess those (or just a few of them) would be good to find for now. Eelam StyleZ (talk) 03:11, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:CR Rajaji.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:CR Rajaji.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 18:32, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Sirkazhi.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 16:15, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Centre-left[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Centre-left. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Centre-left. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:14, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

uniformity in elections pages[edit]

all the general elections in Tamil Nadu pages have a multitude of colours. we need to have some kind of uniformity and also not use too many bright colours. --CarTick 15:38, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am trying to get this one to WP:Good article status. any kind of help will be appreiciated. --CarTick 19:07, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tamil Nadu by-elections, 1952-95[edit]

this article seems to have Lok Sabha election results as well, for example 1985 election. but the distinction is not made very clear. --CarTick 23:48, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

could you please help change the results section like you did to Tamil Nadu state assembly election, 1967 thanks. --CarTick 05:39, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

articles duplication?[edit]

Category:State Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Pls look at this category. apparently, election articles 1952, 1957 and 1962 are duplicate. I am going to prod them for deletion since the duplicate ones have both "assembly" and "council" in the title and therfore are confusing. --CarTick 18:58, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Karuna old.png[edit]

could u pls add more info to the image as to who, when, where and how the image was taken. thanks. --CarTick 05:29, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

newly delimited constituencies[edit]

Originally, i thought about merging them. but it becomes a little complicated and confusing for readers especially because the new constituency is oftentimes very different geographically. what about keeping them separate? --CarTick 22:34, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hi[edit]

nice name. may i recommend you archive your talk page. your user page still has your old name. --CarTick 17:14, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
