Métro

Bonjour! I see that you are editing a lot of articles about the Parisian métro. Perhaps we sould join forces? ^^
Mainly, i'd like for us to agree on a generic layout for an article about a station. Here's a list of things that could be thoses articles:

1. Your infobox
2. a picture of the entrance, or of the interior, of the station. (could that picture be in your infobox?)
3. Content:
   1. History
   2. Places of interest nearby
   3. the "See also" section, with a link to (at least) List of stations of the Paris Métro
   4. External links
4. the templates with links to each station of the lines.. I rather like those, they allow someone to "travel" between articles, along a particular line, or switch to another line by going to the article of a station with connections :)
   

by the way, should we talk in french or in english?

That sounds good. We can put the link to List of stations of the Paris Métro in the infobox. Do you know a way to be able to specify a picture or to have a default one appear instead? And we can talk in whichever language you prefer. - Montréalais 16:25, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

Well i suppose you could add a parameter to the infobox, the name of the picture. Only problem is, there isn't a picture available for every station.. So the template should have an if clause: if the "picture" parameter is supplied, display it; else display the default picture. I guess we should stick to English, so that anyone else interested in working on the Paris métro articles will understand what we're saying :)

Well I know that it is possible to put in a default value for a parameter, by writing {{{1|default}}}: here, the template will print either argument N°1 or, if it isn't supplied, the word "default".

Hence, I guess we could put someting along the lines of:

[[image:{{{1|image_paris_metro_par_defaut.jpg}}}]]

Your website

I've just noticed that the website listed as yours in your page, http://www.metrodemontreal.com/matt, returns a "Page not found" error. It redirects to http://www.ndp.ca/matthewmclauchlin, which does not exist anymore.

Is there any way to access your old site, the one that was there before the NDP page? (not counting the Wayback Machine).

It is a strange situation, yes. Coincidentally, I heard details of the funeral just yesterday night, confirming it. Oh, to answer your original question: I'm familiar with his art in the sense that it's always been around in my family, but I wouldn't say "well-versed". Washington Metro

• Hi! I think your maps of the individual lines for the Washington Metro are outstanding! I was wondering if you could update them to include the future Silver Line intersections? The Silver line will intersect with all the other lines at some point in its route, but mainly, it will be on the same track as the Orange and Blue lines for most of the time. Although the line won't offically be operating until around 2011, it would be nice to show it on those maps. - Thepangelinanpost 03:30, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Back in 2004 you added a couple of paragraphs to We about the first person plural pronouns in the Romance languages. Being familiar with your entries I figure you had a good reason for that, but I don't see the relevance of the Romance pronouns. I suppose subsequent revisions could have stranded your text (there seems to have been some contention over the article), but I would have had to wade through a hundred or so to figure out if they had. So I was just curious about why you added the text (if, of course, at this late date you can remember). Parliament Photos

I upload the official parliament photo of Penny Priddy by me and needs to be kept on the article page of Penny Priddy but do not revert the non-official photo and Morgan695 uploaded the official parliament photo of Olivia Chow and needs to be kept on the article page of Olivia Chow and I want both official photos to be kept and not removed or reverted the new photos. Because both official parliament photos are on Category:Official photographs of Canadian politicians, I put Template:Canada-politician-photo, on a Canadian Parliament Copyright tag on both images. Now please do not remove or revert from Official Parliament photographs to new photos. Please, do not talk to me on the user talk. Both photo are official please do not revert for yourself. According to our fair use policy, we now cannot keep the Parliament photo now that we have a free alternative. I understand you are attached to the Parliament photos, but this is a very clear and firm policy and one that is not in dispute. Help with unwikipedian behaviour

Hi Matthew, how are you? This is Benoît, from the Quebec Wikipedians' Meeting Group. There is this Wikipedian, Lance6968, that is making on Talk:Quebec bashing mean-spirited comments and false accusations about Quebec "rife" racism and anti-semitism and about comments of other individuals, labeling their posts racist. For example, to a user that mentioned that author Normand Lester was half Romanian Jew (simply enumerating Quebecers not of pure old-stock who defended Quebec's tolerance), he replied that it was "taken from race theory; that was an important part of Nazism". He has also removed without reason given a post from another user. [1] I do not believe his comments to be in good faith. Right now, I fear that simply replying myself would play into his game. 9 photos of the NDP MPs by uploader is still listed for deletion

I nominated the 9 unofficial photos of the NDP MPs on September 22nd, 23rd and the 24th. If I put the 9 official Parliament photos back on 9 articles of the NDP MPs back where it belongs, You put the unofficial photos by uploader back on 9 articles of the NDP MPs. It goes to my talk page about the difference between the photos. I don't want you keep all of the 9 unofficial photos of the NDP MPs by uploader from the NDP federal convention, I want all 9 unofficial photos of the NDP MPs at the NDP federal convention for deletion. You are the MEANEST and the WORSE user ever so does Ydam is also the meanest and worse user ever! I want a dispute from the 2 users. Every Parliament photo that has a Canadian Parliament copyright. And you won't let me put all of the official Parliament photos of the NDP MPs back on each article. Do not talk to me on my user talk page! Valiants Memorial photo

Could you check the text of the French description on my image, Commons:Image:Valiants_memorial_west.jpg and make any necessary corrections? I've done the best I can with it, but my French is not too good. I expect to upload at least one other picture to the article tomorrow. (Also, despite the way the links appear on Commons, I notice that there is no French article for the National War Memorial, which I think is a serious gap, but I'm not in a position to do it.)
