Iltekin[edit]

Let me ask you a question, is there any reference to Iltekin in season 1 or appearance of him? Also, wouldn't you find Ilitekin, Sungurtekin's wife and daughter important characters? I mean, they would have at least been talking to Selcan at the Caravansarai (especially Ilitekin). Also, I am 100% sure that Dündar made no reference at all that Iltekin's entire tribe has arrived, the only time he mentioned anything about Ilitekin's tribe was when Selcan came where he said that he was already finding it hard to control such a big tribe and couldn't stand anymore people to make life harder for him. Limorina (talk) 20:13, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not 100% sure how you respond so I'll reply here. Both of Selcan's sons are dead. She stated when she met Sheikh Edebali that she was the wife of a martyr and mother of martyrs meaning her sons are dead. It's because Ilitekin was dead that Selcan returned to Ertugrul and the Kayi Tribes reunified. They needed a strong leader and Ertugrul was a natural choice. That's also one of the reasons Selcan cares so much about Gunduz, Savci and Osman - because she lost both her sons.

I am assuming Sungurtekin's wife and daughter were killed otherwise Selcan would have definitely mentioned them. Gundogdu's tribe was attacked. Iltekin was killed in this (and I assume Sungurtekin's wife and daughter). Maybe if Sungurtekin is in Season 2 then it will be mentioned and what happened to them.

I think you are right about Dundar not mentioning Ilitekin's tribe but if you look at it from a time point of view. Selcan arrived in episode 6. There are 27 episodes. The tribe would have arrived within 20 episodes. I just think they didn't show it. So much happened in those 20 episodes. It would be beyond strange (and frankly unrealistic) if Selcan's portion of the tribe did not arrive whilst all the attacks, schemes, plots happened. Balgay travelled to and from Konya several times. Subutay arrived from the East. So Selcan's tribe had to have arrived in that time too.

@Michelle Tomlinson: What if she was referring to Suleyman Alp when she said the mother of a martyr? (I doubt it but many others are sure about her referring to Suleyman) Also, an explanation for the time gap could be that they were attacked by Mongols or maybe they decided to not come to the tribe yet because something happened, lots of excuses could be thought of? It's been one year so I have my doubts, so you might be correct but instead of just making them come in without being mentioned wouldn't really be ideal when you can have many excuses like them being killed by Mongols or something. The plot will become interesting if they come instead of just getting killed. I doubt that they could make an appearance in season 2 because I think that the guest characters in this season will be Malhun and her father Omer Abdulaziz. It would be an interesting season 3 plot but if that would happen then there can't be a time gap between the seasons. However, I agree with you now about the tribe, however, it has made me quite disappointed, XD.
P.S: I'm working on a draft called Kuruluş: Osman (season 1). Limorina (talk) 19:50, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Selçan Hatun[edit]

Hi, even though Selçan Hatun had a lot of character development in the series, she wasn't a real person, there are no historical sources indicating that she is. I made a 'fictional character' page due to her having a lot of character development. You seem to like her a lot! Limorina (talk) 17:35, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Love her! She's by the far the best character on the show. Most entertaining and the best character development! As much as I love Halime Sultan, she was too good for me. I like a character who has good and bad sides. I love how from Season 1 she was the villain and you would never guess this woman would end up being one of Ertugrul's strongest supports and a mother figure to his and Halime's children. Undid revision 981826737 on Kurulus: Osman[edit]

I did this because:

1) Saying that Turgut Bey, Dogan Alp, Bamsi Bey were the adoptive sons of Hayme Hatun and Suleyman Sah is unnecessary because all the orphaned alps were treated as children by them as much as the three. However, saying Selcan and Gokce were their adoptive children isn't unnecessary because they were a part of Hayme Hatun and Suleyman Sah's family even before adoption.

2) No, Sheikh Edabali appeared as a young man and he had a son called Ali. You were confused, the little boy was his son, who was mentioned to have died with Edabali's wife.

3) They aren't called 'spoilers', they are called 'confirmed information', which you removed.

All the other things, you can re-add manually if you wish, that is up to you, I just found it easier to undo the entire revision, I am sorry about that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Limorina (talkcontribs) 17:27, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

1) Yes, not all orphans were raised by them. They cared for them but they didn't raise them in the sense they did Selcan, Gokce, Turgut, Bamsi and Dogan. That's why they would call Hayme Hatun 'mother' and not "Hayme Ana', which is what everyone else called her.Selcan and Gocke were in the same position as Turgut, Bamsi and Dogan. I don't understand that logic. Selcan and Gokce were not part of the family before adoption. They had their own father. Their circumstances is the same as Turgut, Bamsi and Dogan. They all lost their parents and were then adopted and were far more closer to the family than other orphans. Moreover, Hayme Hatun and Suleyman Sah refer to them as their children. Season 1, when Suleyman Sah and Hayme Hatun were locked in the cage by Kurdoglu they say Kurdoglu wants their son (Turgut) to kill them. Hayme Hatun also calls them three her sons e.g. when Dogan died 'they killed my son! My son is dead!" (I had written about Turgut, Bamsi and Dogan ages ago so I'm confused as to why you randomly chose now to remove this).

2) Sorry, you're right. It was Edebali's son. So weird how they just 'forgot' about this son. Same thing happened with Dogan Alp's wife, Banu Cice, those two girls and their father in the fifth season and the blacksmith in the fifth season. All vanished and were never spoken about again. Even in Kurulus Osman, they never mentioned the man who helped Bala and Gonca Hatun steal the artificats again.

3) Malhun Hatun has not been seen on screen yet. Yes, we know she's Osman's wife but many viewers who are not familiar with Ottoman history will not. They also come on the wikipedia page and will see this as a spoiler.

Didn't mean to annoy you. Michelle Tomlinson (talk) 19:04, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I didn't get the notification, I read it on the 'history page'. Anyway:

1) Okay, I'm not going to bother on that one because it's okay and you convinced me.

2) Thanks for understanding...

3) Malhun Hatun has been CONFIRMED by Mehmet Bozdağ to appear in season 2 so there is no point in removing confirmed information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Limorina (talkcontribs) 14:24, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting edits[edit]

Hi, please don’t revert my edits without explaining, this is seen as WP:Edit warring. The plot summary at the Arabi article would be too long otherwise, it needs to be relatively short and readable. Thanks. IronManCap (talk) 17:53, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See talk for İbn-i Arabi (fictional character). IronManCap (talk) 21:56, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please understand that I respect you as an editor, so am not reporting you. However, a compromise on this issue needs to be found, rather than just reverting edits, so please understand this. You could make constructive suggestions for compromise on the talkpage, rather than simply reverting and defending your opinion. As always, please assume WP:Good faith. Thank you. That was funny though. But avoid humor in mainspace, it is shortlived. Also, unless I'm missing something, Template:Uw-vandalism4 seems a little uncalled for. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:33, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The edit summary indicated that this was deliberate vandalism. I seriously considered blocking to prevent further disruption, but am hopeful that a strong warning will do the trick. Nick-D (talk) 22:54, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
