Edit wars, advice request

How do you preserve the integrity of the Wikipedia when some editors consistently use bad data and spurious arguments to push a POV position; when they often don't provide edit summaries; when they only occasionally respond on talk pages, and then not to the arguments, but just by making the same old assertions; and when RFC's are not responded to by other editors. These POV editors are often blocked for short periods, but come back with the same ideology. In fact, see Samir's reduction of the blocking of Beh-nam at User talk:LessHeard vanU#User:Beh-nam. Beh-nam is not the worst, he at least apologized (User talk:Bejnar#re: User:Anoshirawan) for suggesting that I used an IP as a sockpuppet to fake a sockpuppet of Anoshirawan. The most excessive has been Anoshirawan, in particular on the Hotaki dynasty and Mir Wais Hotak articles. See the talk pages for them. See also Khampalak's comment at User talk:Bejnar#Beh-nam and Anoshirawan. What should I do next to avoid edit wars when I run up against this kind of behaviour? I have tried article talk pages, I have tried direct communication on their talk pages (which has occasionally worked with Beh-nam) and I have tried RFCs. I don't really want to attack these editors, I just want rational discourse on issues, not endless reversions. I understand your exasperation very well. There were also times were I was fed up big time with Wikipedia, esp. the German one where I used to edit more extensively. Actually I have mostly drawn back into my own and official academic work, as my life and career profits much more from that. But the conundrum is that if the guards start quitting the zoo, soon it'll be run by the monkeys. And Wikipedia is a medium with an immense outreach: in German media, I lately stumbled on a bit of information that I myself had inserted into an article a year before. I checked back, and it was a literal quote. Working on Wikipedia is working on public consciousness. You won't notice it for a long time, but what you're writing will reach its addressees. Sadly, that's also true for all the stupid stuff.

Let me assume that you're Afghan (or have family roots there or in some adjacent country) and wish to give a rational, knowledgeable and balanced representation of your culture - as opposed to lofty, ridiculous claims that have nothing to do with mainstream history and linguistics, and which would in the end only serve to ridicule your people and the way they seem to think (that's what the monkey business results in). From what you've said, I'd also assume that you sufficiently tried to communicate with your edit war "friends" and failed. OK. Still keep it up. And try mediation. If you manage to prove your good faith to some admins who are impartial outsiders in that field, you'll have Wikipedians on your side who have means beyond just getting worn out in tedious edit wars. Better still, there is a chance that your friends learn the culture of rational discourse, and in the end you'll find a balanced compromise text. It's never just black and white, there's always something "truer" in between. Maybe they'll have to learn about the difference or non-difference between dialects and languages (maybe starting from here), and you may have to concede that there is more than just a lingustic angle to that question, as for example a dimension of social identity (I mean they must have a reason to keep reverting yours to their stuff; there must be something that haunts them). I am suprized how bejnar is lieing about me. Bejnar has no knowledge of Afghanistan's history. Guys i read all the articles about our language. it is really a pity that in a war torn country we are wasting our time for the things which are not worthed. Dari is derived from a indo European languanged but comes under Soghdi loanguages. Soghdi language has two branches Pahlawi Sasani and Pahlawi Ashkani. From Pahlawi ashknai the dari language is formed and the Pahlawi sasani the Persian language of iran.

It is obvious from its dialect, grammar and some words. For example KACHALO= SAIB ZAMINI 2- BADANJAN ROMI= GOJA FARANGI 3- BADRANG= KHEYAR and other thousands words.

People like Rahnaward Zaryad or Latif Pidraf whom they called themselves Afghanistani instead of Afghan are trying to diverge our country are trying to implement such malicious schemes.

Instead of making words and disputes over this little issue raise and help your country to have roads, city power and infrastructure.
