Welcome!

Hello, Janochaj, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Twin Berlin, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

A tag has been placed on Twin Berlin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. | Uncle Milty | talk | 20:17, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:JustinHaywardWiki.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:03, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the article again, there are a few decent sources, however, as to whether they satisfy WP:MUSIC or not is another issue. Someone else though might say it is. LionMans Account (talk) 21:42, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Delicate Steve Positive Force.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Delicate Steve Positive Force.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 21:15, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Nigel Hall (musician)[edit]

Hello Janochaj,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Nigel Hall (musician) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kavdiamanju (talk) 18:26, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Janochaj. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Primary Wave, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Do you work for Primary Wave? If so, do not edit their article. If not, are you connected with them in any way?Ganesha811 (talk) 20:12, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please declare your conflict of interest / employer[edit]

Hi Janochaj,

Thank you for using Wikipedia's "requested edit" tool. As a COI editor, that is the right thing to do and it will, long-term, result in your company having a better reputation with Wikipedia editors. It makes it more likely that changes you want to see happen will be implemented. One more thing to do - please disclose here or on your own user page who your employer is and that you have a COI, as required by Wikipedia's rules. If there is a change you wish to see to the article in the future, make a request on the talk page, as you did, and if no one gets to it promptly, feel free to contact me. —Ganesha811 (talk) 13:46, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @Ganesha811 I appreciate the quick response and help. I will better familiarize myself with the COI and disclosure. I do work for Primary Wave and will not edit the article again. I added additional sources to my other request, but also wanted to learn more about what we can do to remove the tag at the top of the page stating: "This article may have been created or edited in return for undisclosed payments."
This is my biggest concern as a part of the company and something I am very keen on figuring out how to remedy properly within Wikipedia's rules. Janochaj (talk) 18:31, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your disclosure. Wikipedians are generally happy to work with company representatives on articles, provided that they follow the rules (such as suggesting changes on the talk page instead of making them directly). I recommend you also add Template:Paid to your userpage - if you have any difficulties with how that works, let me know.
The tag is the result of previous contributions to the article (several years ago) that a Wikipedia editor (I think it was me, tbh) suspected were made by a company employee without disclosing their COI. Any Wikipedian could remove it, but it will probably remain as long as that editor's contributions are still making up a significant proportion of the page. Wikipedians would have to come to a consensus to remove it. If we made enough changes to the article that it is neutral in tone, doesn't read like PR, is well-sourced to reliable sources, etc, the tag would probably be removed. We can discuss this further on the article's talk page. —Ganesha811 (talk) 19:20, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
